Think he's referring to me! In fairness, I didn't make my point very well.

The country hardly did itself any favours with the Euro 2020 shambles.

World Cup 2022: Denmark to wear 'toned down' jerseys in protest at hosts Qatar

Denmark will wear "toned down" jerseys for the World Cup to protest against Qatar's human rights record and treatment of migrant workers.

When I saw this I thought it was brilliant. I then saw that the shirt was released two weeks prior to the post about the meaning behind the shirt and also saw (although haven't remotely fact checked) that Hummel supply kits to teams playing in Qatar. I realise I should definitely know either of these are true before posting really, but it has tainted it for me.

Aren’t we favourites for the 2028 Euro hosting?

The bidding was in 2011?

The alternatives to the joint bid are Turkey or Russia, what a great choice!

But England aren’t actually bidding? It’s the Ireland + the UK.

We were for the 2018 tournament and got turned down because of insufficient high speed rail. Then they gave it to Russia despite a whole host of more serious concerns

He was stating that England would have issues after the Wembley final last time - most games are played in England - far more than the last tournament

Are they seriously going to kick out Iran but happily hold the tournament in Qatar and let Saudi Arabia play?

Once the squads are named I wouldn’t be shocked if the players levels of performance drop as they won’t want to get injured.

Wouldn’t lose a wink of sleep if they cancelled it. Thing is I think players would mostly feel the same as well, it’s a piss poor decision.

Only thing is with that is what all those workers went through and the deaths would all be in vain.

I’d much, much rather keep going up the City and suspect that this break will throw current form across the leagues out the window.

That said, once it actually starts, I’m sure I’ll get on board. Timing is probably decent for us too in one way with the mounting injuries.

Absolutely buzzed, got the group stages completely booked off work and will be spending it at the pub watching non stop football.

Stick your vaginas back in and enjoy it.

I still remember the day this was announced (along with Russia hosting the previous one).

Absolute joke.

No interest whatsoever.

If we weren’t going there with Southgate and his plan to bore teams into submission, perhaps.

I'm also not arsed atm, haven't had any sort of buzz. I'll be working in Turkey during the group stages which means I'll be busy when the Iran game's on and the other two will be 10pm kick offs so probably won't stay up for them.

Assuming we get out the group I'll probably have a bit more interest, especially with a potential quarter final at 7pm when we play Reading away at 3

As it gets nearer I'll probably get more excited. I have booked the England games off and I'm sure if we progress in the tournament interest will sky-rocket.

I don't like it the way tournaments have been handed out clearly not to the best bidder. This one specifically had to break a rule they set of it being in the northern hemisphere summer, so it shows the criteria aren't worth the paper they're written on. They'll change any of it for enough cash. The safety standards given to the workers has been non-existent and here would see people in prison. The fact that they're unwelcoming of gay people, and their attitudes towards women as well should have been reason alone to reject them. The fact their making more of a concession on drinking than they are their treatment of other fellow human beings is disgusting.

I'm really not happy about any of it, but I know that my love of football will still see me want to get involved. And I don't like myself for it.

Plus, I want to hear fanzones singing "It's freezing cold" to the tune of Three Lions.

Didn't you literally say the same thing before the Euros, only to eventually go on about how marvellous and nerve-wracking the tournament was?
