Draws are OK but there comes a point where we need to pick up the odd 3 points. This is one of those days. Play as we did against Stoke and I think we have enough to pull it off. I think McCallum is tired though, and Giles needs game time to be sharp. His crossing ability and taking on players may be crucial if Godden is to get service. Likewise Dabo who really came on last time out, can be key. I think we got this. Can't keep a clean sheet forever so 1-2 to City.

Of our four attackers, Walker has the potential to be a consistent Championship scorer, not sure any of the others are quite good enough, which mitigates against two up front. (please don't cite Rotherham against this opinion - they were crap).

Erm, have you got a moment to talk about the lord our saviour, Matthew Godden?

Kierenp96 is watching the Villa instead, so nailed on 4-0 win for us.

Think Preston play one up top too so see it being a tight game with not many goals - tbh can't see Robins tampering with five men in defence or goalie as let so few goals in recently.......I reckon MR will go unchanged for this one though would like to see Giles involved for O"Hare and two up top if possible during the game at some stage.

Wilson

Dabo Osti Fadz Hyam McCallum

Sheaf Hamer Allen

O'Hare

Godden

Subs: Camp, Pask, DaCosta, Giles, Shipley, Giles, Baka, Biamou, Bapaga.

Can see another 0-0 tbh which would be a good away point.

I’m normally crap at predictions but after the Wycombe game I went through our next 9 fixtures and wrote down my predictions for them. I’ve got the first 3 correct, unfortunately. Now, all I’ll say is I hope I’ve got the next 2 wrong (if the Millwall game is played).

Thought the God did better on the scraps against Stoke than Walker managed ( nothing against him ) Allen and O Hare were trying to feed the ball through and a couple of times I thought he could score - so I am much more positive he will
Come good - one extraordinary pass from Hamer could also suffice 2-1 city PUSB

Just to chuck a wild joker into the affray. People are talking about draws, but they don't seem like a team which rests for a draw this season. I get the feeling just looking by the results, which could be vastly different to what's actually going on, on the pitch, that they may be a death-or-glory team.

If this is true then this could work to our advantage.

What do we know about the Preston setup which can prove me wrong?

We're not likely to push to capitalise on it even if they are

Anytime I see us playing Preston away I assume defeat and a piss poor performance to go with it, so anything better than that would be a pleasant surprise for me. Assume unchanged team.

I have a lot of faith in our back line.

Going for a clean sheet and Godden to score for us with the only goal of the game.

Godden, Walker, Max & Baka. Only Walker has the potential to be a good Championship striker. None of them are right now, OK'ish at best

This’ll be a tight game with not much between the teams. We seem to be setting up not to lose rather than going all out to win. I wouldn’t be surprised to see another 0-0 but what do I know so we’ll probably win convincingly.

I think I’d give Giles a go. Pull him off at half time if he’s having a bad game (and if that doesn’t work substitute him in the second half ). I’d play two up front as well. Go at them first half and bring on subs to smother the game second, reverse our current tactics. We tire around the hour mark anyway so may as well make the most of it. Bring O’Hare and McCallum on around 60 min, for Max and Giles, Baka for Godden if we need to.

Can't see this being different to any of the last 4 or 5 games. We'll huff and puff until Robins throws an extra striker on late in the game. Or God gets knackered and just gets replaced like for like. 0-0 or 1-0 Preston.

Its great that our defence has solidified so we're not conceding but the lack of attacking options is very worrying. Man Ure used to have a saying : "We knew that we'd concede goals but we also knew that we'd score more than them". That philosophy may be needed sooner rather than later.

That's Man Utd - their forward line was a bit different to Baka, Max, Walker and Godden (no disrespect to any of them)

Whilst not denying that we need to score more goals, it is a fact that we're getting better results now with a solid base than we did early season where we were more cavalier. Man Utd can say that when they've got top class attackers who will finish chances

Attack wise were not the same quality as man u so same eleven for me max on last 25 minutes, hopefully a sneaky 1~0 win would be a result even with our horrendes record there. Godden to score.

I just think it’s about time we got a good result up there. They seem to have been our bogey team for years so fingers crossed we break the hoodoo and get three points .
