Is Ched Evans back from his ban yet? if so he is bound to score.

I would be absolutely delighted with a point.

Looking at the Preston fans forum a lot of them are predicting us to win bizarrely.

It's a good approach. Means you don't look like a complete t**t if you lose 2-1, and no need to blame the ref afterwards.

Every result against PNE since we dropped out the Prem - I know we go on about it a lot but that is genuinely horrific, not just the epitome of a bogey side for us but surely for any team in the country

Other than the two covid ones I’ve been to every one of them since about 2010 as well, my 10th trip to Deepdale tomorrow - surely due a win

The one where we’ve been playing 1 up front?

You think we’ll keep it the same and play 2 up front.

Alright then.

I see.

Nurse?!!!

We've switched from the box to 2 up front for over 3 years. 4 at the back is completely different. In fairness to you however we did go 4 at the back v Burnley and Norwich. Won't happen again though

Indeed, why upset a system that has brought 15 clean sheets this season already

Might suit us going a flat back 4 tomorrow, McNally & Fadz as CB’s, Dabo and Bidwell FBS, push Hamer a bit more AM in an old fashioned 8 role, Eccles as old fashioned no.4, Double Barrelled loanees as wingers / wide mids that track back, Gyok and Gyods up front.

I use the 4 & 8 as this exact roles in Footy Manager too

Think Barnsley would say the same about their record with us

Could tweak the box system a bit, but it wouldn’t be very adventurous (and probably not a box for 60% of the game)! Burroughs in for Palmer, have 3 sitting but Hamer to join Allen when we attack/have the ball.
I imagine it’ll be Godden in though and just go 2 up top.

Actually my previous reply a tad harsh.

Just trying to think how we can get around having no attacking playmaker with Palmer out and how to put the back line together (with Doyle being possibly out - Rose not ready yet IMO) and bring Godden in.

Need Hamer pulling strings and sitting behind the front two. Gyok can pull wide and tbf so can Godden. This leaves JWE & BNC being able to cut in and also pull back.

Anyway. Just ramblings. I’m sure MR has a plan
I was focusing more on the 5 at the back in relation to the formation point

agreed on the prospect of Gus further up when sheaf back if Palmer is out

but I don’t know whether he’d suit or not tough one

Didn’t realise Preston was his old club.

Good shout, Maguire must be at the point where he knows he’s got to make a mark to get a contract or he’s going to tumble down the divisions and pay scale.

Maguire and Godden might have to do 45 minutes each.
If they can't manage that as well paid professionals, then they're in the wrong job.

Just looked, very strange ha. They’re only three points and one place behind us, their results seem fine, but they’re absolutely hammering their chances and their team.

We have to be at our best to win most games. With a tiny squad and little rest it gets very difficult to continue doing that-will just be glad for no more injuries tonight

They have the second worst home record in the division. Before Wigan they’d lost i think 5 in a row

Im absolutely gutted. My workmate has called in sick so I’m stuck in work and cant get to the game.
It’s our best chance of winning there in ages and I’m stuck in fucking Northampton til 5.
The only positive is that i think I’ve managed to pass my ticket on.
Does anyone know if Is it on the red button or ifollow tonight ?

Yeah looks like they'd lost 5 from the last 6 pre Wigan. That'll be why then

Definitely on Hamer and the relief he showed when the final whistle blew said exactly that. He knew he'd fucked up badly

Has anyone got a spare ticket for this one I could pick up at the ground? Or can I pay on the gate without going into the home end?

Should have been at work but told them last night I have something better to do

Let’s break that hoodoo with a 1-0 win, it’s got a low scoring affair all over it.
