Thierry Small is a very good player for them too.

A Frenchman got confused once and thought I was him. He said, 'You are Thierry Small'.

I'll get my coat....

5k on a Tuesday night in December, two weeks before Xmas, to Preston - is bloody impressive.

Kudos to everyone travelling. Safe journeys all!

Oh yeah, thought it was the Sheffield United game.

The Wednesday game had no impact on the outcome. Camera angles weren't great either.

I mean we’d have won most games heavily regardless. Exactly why the problem at Ipswich wasn’t the ref.

Sure. I just think we’d have struggled even against 10. The ref was poor but they often are and we manage to win is my point.

I don't get people who say that the ref wasn't the issue, I mean if the fella who scores their 2nd is sent off when it's 0-0 then it;s a very different game.

Need to play football tonight, the weather will be grim. Keep the ball on the ground and play through the lines and take advantage of our better skilled players across the front line. Cant get involved in hoof football, if we do it plays to their physicality, if we play I can see a comfortable win.

As I'm sure some of you are aware. We have never beaten Preston in the League at Deepdale.

We have actually only ever won twice in all competitions.

The first time we played at Deepdale in 1910 won 2-1 in the FA cup and in 2000 a 3-1 win in the League cup.

It’s a critical decision in a way that Wright’s tap in just isn’t. The Charlton decision by the way very nearly was instantly critical too but for poor finishing at the other end.

We should have done better, no argument there, but a red card at 0-0 is clearly significant with so long left in the game.

Even if he wasn't, which he was, who actually cares? We lost a game, a tough game and just our second in 19 games. I don't know why people like to pore over it is so much when things are generally going brilliantly. We're Coventry City not Real Madrid. Sometimes we'll be a bit shit.

It happened in a game that took place 3 days ago!
It's hardly poring over it, people are talking like we're still discussing it 6 months later (when I say people, you and Astute!).

We'll be on to the Preston game tomorrow.

I am ok with losing, I think we will go uop but we'll lose 5 or so more before it's all done.

It's just the ref was a major part of what happened though.

we have probably the hardest 1st half of the season than anyone else

3 parachute teams, and the remainder of the top 6 we will have played them all away
we will be fine after the 3 points tonight

Today was going to be mine and my son's first away day of the season, tickets bought, coach from the tavern sorted and this flu bug has ruined it. £120 down the toilet, at least it's on the telly later.
Edit:- sing up all you sky blues, let's put this hoodoo to bed

I don't think we'll lose at home all season. Maybe once just because it probably has to happen at some point.

We only have 4 ‘new’ teams to play so isn’t this a bit meaningless?

I’ve got a horrible feeling we might lose 2-0 tonight. Will be a real test of character for players and fans if we do.

We'll have played the entire current top 6 (excluding ourselves) away from home after tonight. There's no way we're still doing this we've had an easy start thing almost half way through the season

It's a horrible fixture and there's no doubt they have got some very good results at home. I think a draw would be a decent result then back it up with a win vs Bristol City.

It’s all much of a muchness yes, but it differentiates between each teams home and away records so just adds a little bit of context.

The differences are pretty negligible for most given we’ve played nearly every team. But QPR & Bristol City seem to have had quite a standout ‘easy’ first half of the season, everyone else is quite similar we’re just slightly on the easy side.

Tbf we can't play ourselves and we have the best PPG by a mile. Our opponents stat padding just by playing against us now.

I have counted up all the goals scored in league games at Deepdale.

Preston 45
Coventry 24

So we need to win 22 -0 to put things right
