Not long back from the cursed Horcrux that is Deepdale. Yet another frustrating trip. If we can’t win there when top of the league and with them down to 10, when can we?!

No need for an explosive over reaction, win on Saturday and it’s a good point. Most of us would have written off Preston Away when the fixtures came out in June anyway! If we stay clear by 4-5 points after Christmas and add a couple of bodies in January, we should be able to do it. Other squads are starting to catch us up now.

Only had the benefit of seeing the offside goal once in real time and it looked like EMC was in line behind the goal, what did the replays and Sky say? TIA

Everyone seen that thing going around online that Oggy leaked that Wright wanted to leave the club if we signed Bamford?

When was that said? If true, presumably it would have been to do with wages.

Strangely enough that was a conversation piece on the coach back last night.

Of course we’ll have blown if it we don’t go up automatically. We had 43 points and were 12 points clear of 3rd after 18 games ffs. It would be the greatest collapse in Championship history and would be an utter failure if it happened.
A lot of people don’t want to hear it but I agree with other supports that the difference this year is that the Championship is actually a lot weaker than usual. We have enormously over achieved for the squad size and level we have. We haven’t really performed to an excellent standard for a number of games now. In an ordinary season of the last 10 years this team would probably be knocking around 4th - 7th. It would be the greatest collapse in championship history yes. But do we have the level of squad/depth an ordinary parachute league leader has had. No. This will be a monumental scrap to keep our place in the top 2.

Um no. Any reason given as for why that would be the case?

I have no idea but it's started to do the rounds. A poster above mentioned it was a convo on the coach home last night too.

Correct and why only one striker on in the 2 ND half? Simms should have been on from the start of the 2 ND half playing alongside Weight not replacing him

Wright needs to be worrying about putting chances away than Bamford or anyone else coming in.

He will regret it when he doesn't get selected for his home World Cup.

What are their striking options outside of domestic USA?
Is Haji (along with Sargent) playing at the highest level worldwide?

Supposedly Oggy said it on the radio, although I’m yet to hear anyone provide the audio.

I mean Wright’s missed chances yesterday that Simms just doesn’t. Bloke needs to focus squarely on his own performance.

Poor show last night dropping Simms after one mediocre game, after what hes done in the last month or so.

Sickness bug doing rounds in squad.....

which again, means theres likely players, playing not 100% - another reason we all just need to keep supporting them, rather than reacting to any slight hiccup, theres going to be loads more bumps and plenty of ups also!

Which in itself won’t exactly do much for performance levels to be fair.

Not that strange. Probably discussing the same article. Doesn’t make it any more credible.

I dont think it's as black and white as "Simms got dropped". It was a tactical move - Haji is better getting in behind the defence, as last night showed.

We missed energy more than anything else on that pitch tonight, the defence really was not the problem.

The defence was absolutely the problem. They had to hold out against ten men who were barely attacking and couldn’t. You can’t win every game 3-2

If you go 2-0 up against 10 men there is no ‘holding out’ to do.

And if you don’t concede you don’t have to break down ten men sat inside their box twice. No excuses for conceding yesterday.

Wright comes off as a massive whiny baby doesn’t he? Wasn’t the rumour it was him whining about Robins as well?

I think the key word there is rumour. He strikes me as the sort of person who would struggle to be annoyed about anything at all.

Both rumours (one from GIMOC). So very unfair to label him that.

Yeah but he’s also American so has a high starting probability of being a whiny baby

We arrogantly assumed job done at 1-0 and the intensity dropped off massively. We should have kept going and put the game beyond doubt.

He just doesnt come across as giving any shits about anything to me. Our strikers must be the most laid back pairing since Cheech & Chong.

'You have to miss them to score them" as Ian Rush once said about missed chances. Wright will always get more chances than Simms because he's a better player. Simple as that

Agreed. We are 5 points ahead. It’s a great place to be. Several teams have hit form but they will hit the buffers at some point. It’s a great league and we deserve to be where we are. PUSB
