I would say it's the old box with Sakamoto and Rudoni behind Wright

Rushworth
Thomas - Wolf - Kitch
KKH - Grimes - Eccles - Dasilva
Saka - Rudi
Wright

Looks unbalanced with Saka and no EMC unless Wright is going LW but no front man. Weird.

It’ll take preston 10 mins to work out how we’re set up, we’ll be 2 up by then,

Lets hope KKH is better than Saturday although to be fair to him he was out of position and he's playing against his former team so lets hope he's up for it tonight PUSB come on lads bury the feckin cloggers!

He can only get better with proper minutes on the pitch.

To be fair, we have mostly said KKH needs game time to improve and he should know how to play against Preston

Assuming it’s the 5-2-3

Rushworth
Thomas - Woolfden - Kitching
KKH - Eccles - Grimes - Dasilva
Sakamoto - Wright - Rudoni

Same. But not sure we’d get anyone better in Jan at this point so might just have to make it through.

Some of us have consistently thought the defence was shite regardless of results tyvm

It depends whether people acknowledge it is the system that leaves us open or try to pin the blame on individual players.

It would be quite easy to shore up the defence tactically, but the trade off would be we create less chances.

I think because we have been so clinical in taking our chances, is the reason why Frank isn't too concerned yet about leaking some goals.

Wright up front with Sakamoto and Rudoni playing fairly narrow behind him

This my guess. Might be wrong, would just rather see Rudoni more central than out left.

A back three is a good idea considering the number of times weve been caught out with a long pass between the 2 centre halves lately.
MvE will be a miss, so we need something better from KKH than weve seen from him of late.
I can see EMC and Torp coming on after an hour if needed.

Interesting line up, is MVE rested or has he picked up a knock? Got a few decent options on the bench if they're needed as well.

That post wasn't meant to slag off Eccles just that I think Torp is a much better player for us

we do put out some strange line ups, must be hard for the opposition to set up though if even we don’t know,

Can just see them all getting distracted posting on the Preston forum even though we’ve kicked off and gone 2 up.

Big chance for Wolfie to stake a claim.

I'll be honest, I'm not convinced.

it’s right though, how do you set up against that, take a guess and have to change after 10 mins, puts us on the front foot straight away

I guess Simms is on the bench purely because he's played a lot of minutes lately. Be a great time for Wright to rediscover his form.

I don't get people who say that the ref wasn't the issue, I mean if the fella who scores their 2nd is sent off when it's 0-0 then it;s a very different game.

Of course it would be a different game. But the result wouldn't necessarily be determined by it. Plus we will never know. But I will stick by the fact we prepared and expected to play against 11 and we lost.

Sounds as if Torp is not right yet. Shits can really take it out of you.
KKH playing against his old club. MVE must be sick or injured. Looked fine at the end of the Ipswich match.
Simms and EMC looked shagged out against Ipswich. Pretty sure we will see Simms on for Haji at some point. EMC will come on if needed.
Lot of people calling for a back 3. We had a good run last year playing this formation. Probably a wise move on a very heavy pitch.

Looks like a team set up not to lose and hope to sneak a win. Will look good if we come away with a 1-0 victory but may be a difficult night if concede early

Frank seems to think Eccles is better than he is, hopefully he's right unless Torp is still recovering still

The Eccles bashing is getting a bit annoying. Every week there is someone on the match thread waiting to hit 'post reply' on some negative comment the first moment he does something they don't like.

He's a decent player who we should all do a bit better to support.

A knock or illness I think given he's not on the bench.
