Other supporters are not looking at catching us up. The sane ones have already conceded. Only 3 sides can realistically catch us. It's Ipswich v Millwall this weekend and Middlesborough v Millwall next game. Later on in April It’s Ipswich v Middlesbrough. Maximum 9 points available between sides over 2 games each. That's a quarter of their remaining games (Ipswich plus 1 game). We already have a big lead and also a nice run of winnable games.

What I'm really hoping for is to keep a bit of a gap. Have promotion in the bag but to be playing at home to Wrexham to win the title. Wrexham need it to clench a place in the playoffs. It's for moments like this that we suffer for most of the time. Problem is some wouldn't be able to cope 😁
To be fair, if it was any other team than us with a 9 point gap to 3rd with 8 games left, you’d be thinking that’s job done. but theres plenty still to do. but milwall playing Ipswich and Mboro does us a huge favour,

Sunderland should give us some hope for next season .

Weve got a much better starting base than they did last season .. but theye also given other clubs the player profiles required to survive and thrive in the premier league

Defo. we just need to be clever in the market as can’t imagine us spending anywhere as much as them

No me either but i think we are far better than them last season and our squad in a better place .. i think 6 or 7 good signings and we could really give it a go

I think looking at who we expect to leave who’s played a part in the squads this year

Obviously the loans go back

Esse, Yang, Rushworth, Onyeka That’s 4

I expect that Wilson, Lati, Woolf, Bidwell, Allen, Simms will all go. that’s another 6

Now onyeka obviously re-signs so that’s 9 needed.

Rushworth could join back but these aren’t new squad “additions”

Dovin could fill Wilson’s role, but depends how his recovery goes

That leaves at least 8 needed I think

Just watching Arsenal v Citeh, fuck me Im shitting it thinking about facing Harland, Doku and Gyokeres et al. It’s gonna be a massive gap, but we need to embrace the whole season and enjoy ourselves no matter happens.

That Doku doesn't like to cross a ball does he, and to think they have a man- mountain of a centre forward to aim for.

And Arsenal are going to need a second choice goalkeeper, Rushworth maybe 🤔

Trying to work out who I want relegated out of Spurs and West Ham. Really want to go to Spurs stadium, but probably better if they get relegated (also funnier), as they would probably be stronger than West Ham next season.
I went to the stadium in October to watch NFL. The stadium is insanely good

We're not the same side we were left with after selling Gyokeres. We won't even be the same as we are now. But joking aside it will be great to welcome Gyokeres back. We launched him into the top of the game and the money from selling him was a massive part of our successes in the last few years.

Us older ones remember top flight football. If the criteria hasn't changed, the aim will be to finish 17th. We're going to get our arses kicked at times, but celebrate every goal like an achievement, every draw like a win, and when we finally manage it each win like we have just won a cup final. We'll be OK

I do fear about that side of things next season if we go up, seeing how negative some were when we were literally top of the league and breaking records I give it three losses until “get frank out” and “Frank the wank”. Really hope not.

Going to be weird seeing Salah, Haaland and co running around the CBS. Interested to see how patient our fans are going to be with our players (and Frank Lampard) if/when we struggle. Anyway, Let's enjoy the next few months before we worry about the future!

I’m hoping in some ways we’ll be more relaxed? When you’re competing with those riches, anything will feel like a bonus.

Really decent appraisal, I would keep Simms albeit appreciate I might be in the minority thinking that. They “might” want to keep Esse for the sheer potential he clearly has - depends on how much and to be fair what options from probably overseas they have in their sights

I think Simms has done well but now’s the time they can get a good return on investment especially considering he’s second choice so could see someone like Sheff U coming in for him

LB
CH x2
no. 8 x2 (I see Onyeka as a 6 in the Prem)
no. 10

If we struggle? 😂

It ain't going to be easy. But at least we start with players that could have played a part for lower down Prem sides. If we can keep our squad ethics after changing half our squad we will be halfway to safety. With Lampard we have a chance of bringing in quality players.

This season when forced into a corner I predicted 2nd and automatic promotion. Next season there's no corner. 17th and safety. We're the best side going up and with the best manager. Just need to beat a Prem side that shits the bed.

Am I right in saying the only two premier league teams we haven’t faced in one competition or other since relegation from top league are Liverpool and Villa?
