What I would like to see.....

Fixtures:
Cheltenham Town (Away)
Date: Earlish July
Location: Whaddon Road, Cheltenham

Walsall FC (Away) Earlish July Bescot Stadium, Walsall
Another local match that will attract fans and help build team chemistry and connection.

Las Palmas (Away) Mid-July Estadio Gran Canaria, Canary Islands A warm-weather trip to face a relegated La Liga side, offering a different style of play.

Tenerife FC (Away) Mid-July Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez Lopez. Similar benefits as Las Palmas, and closr to Las Palmas providing valuable experience against international competition and in front of a good number of sky blues fans.

Coventry City vs. Aston Villa (Home)
A high-profile final friendly that will generate finance, excitement and serve as a significant test for the squad to finish?

To me this plan balances local games with international exposure, ensuring our players are well-prepared for the upcoming season while engaging with fans home and abroad. Could maybe fit in another game at Port Vale or Northampton etc if Lampard.would like to.
I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but would this plan happen to match your summer holiday plans? 🤔

Can the Sky Blues play a friendly in Bangkok, apparently they did once in about 1972.
Just recently come back from Bangkok...I was really looking forward to going but left a bit disappointed. Could be that it was the weather (absolutely lashed it down for the days I was there) or maybe I didnt get to see the real Bangkok.

Blues to head to Portugal for pre-season camp. Birmingham City can confirm that the men's first team squad will travel to Portugal for a pre-season training camp. Chris Davies' squad will head to Albufeira from 7-13 July as they prepare for the 2025/26 Championship season.

If it's true we are there at the same time, god help the Portuguese police

I went in January and thought it was decent but there’s a lot of hype around Thailand, IMO. It’s probably the impact of years of mass tourism.

Not sure why we’d do this. Blues are one of the last teams I’d pick for an overseas friendly.

I agree, divisional & local rivals based in a popular holiday resort - recipe for disaster if you ask me. Blues have had this released for a couple of weeks already, I know a couple of their fans that have already booked flights/hotels

No chance we would play a friendly against Villa

Would like one of the Glasgow clubs again, I have no love for either of them but was a shame we played Rangers at Ibrox during Covid when no one was allowed to go, would have been a good trip and experience
I believe Rangers have already announced their games as saw Boro are heading up to Ibrox.

Fucking hope not, they are bad enough at home so having to be around a load of obnoxious Brummies tanked up on sun and booze will only end one way and is something I would probably give a wide berth

I got married in Ibiza which admittedly is an odd thing to do, anyway, what about a friendly against Granada if as rumoured we sign Brau from them, not too far from the Albufeira. Also a game against Sevilla or Betis would be a great test.

Granada to be fair have said they will only sell him to us if we agree to play them in a friendly at a holiday resort with 50 fans watching.

Sorry to be pedantic but Granada is nowhere near Albufeira, it's 300 miles away across a border😅

Cool getting married in Ibiza though, off there in just over two weeks for the third time in the space of a year, quite the place

Yes, I stand corrected. I was thinking more Sevilla which is only just over a couple of hours away by road and despite crossing a border there is no control, you just drive straight over.
Hope you enjoy Ibiza again, it's changed a bit since I lived there in the eighties after falling in love with the place whilst on holiday in 1979.
