Oh dear. Although the players are part time and will probably have bigger worries with work etc. maybe that has something to do with that decision.

Hopefully. Just concerning that they’re quite happy to expunge a season just like that

The majority of the players will have full time jobs. They can’t be expected to play 3 games a week to complete a season

Can anyone seriously see the season being completed?

I’m expecting it to just be a question of whether they void is or finish as is and promote top 2.

Spare a thought for Jersey Bulls FC who will be competing in the same league next season

I still dont understand why a season needs to be voided. When they can start playing again (whenever that may be) this season should be finished before any other started.

If that means next season doesnt start till January, so be it.

Most of the world is in the same boat so i cant see the issue, can always play catch up over a couple of seasons

We have two months yet and then June and July if needed, I read the other day that the Government are wanting the football to start as soon as possible even if it’s behind closed doors, they see it as moral booster and hopefully a return to normality, there are clubs throughout the leagues who will be pushing for the season to be cancelled for selfish reasons, I suspect they will be in the earholes of certain FA delegates but thankfully with Liverpool in our corner I can’t see it going down the cancel route.

Don’t think I’d bother with the football any more if they rendered this season null and void. We’ve played 34 games ffs.

That takes the piss

I think I'll be done with football if they void our season and I hope club owners take them for all they have.

Financial reasons for the really low leagues. Effectively clubs have asked to stop the season ASAP so they can stop paying staff wages asap.

League void and clubs don't have to pay anyone. What a horrible world we live in

What was the fucking point of the government wage scheme if everywhere is binning people off anyway?

This is a real shame for Coventry United. I know a few players and for them promotion would have meant playing at a higher standard, more chance of getting spotting by a pro club etc, especially the younger players. So football even at non league level should definitely not be considered as being outside of the financially improving sphere.

Keep the existing season going. Fiddle about with next season that hasn’t even started - when there’s more time to plan.

I just said the exact same thing. I think after nearly 40 years of supporting my team to see us get one of our highest moments ripped away would be too much to cope with. Think i'd struggle to go back to the start of a season in League one again.

Imagine playing for a club, when you're 2nd or third going for top spot and they are begging the NL to cancel the season ASAP so they don't have to pay you. Fucking marvellous

I get the sentiment and that the initial idea behind Cov United was to benefit from City's demise by playing at the Higgs and whatnot but as a neutral, I doubt many Cov United supporters actively wish bad on the City.

I’m happy for option 2 but also think the next season should be cancelled, or even reduced to 23 games and mini leagues to decide promotion. Relegation over perhaps 12 matches

Not entirely sure what your reply is on about but i made no reference to where the games have taken place, long since got bored of those arguments. If you go, you go, if you don't that's fine too. The fact im on about is how deflating it would be for all if the season was voided

Even though they are paying players more than teams at a higher standard?

I see no sensible reason to 'void' a season.
But I'm also concerned that should the delay go beyond June then the season could be decided by a panel. I trust under such a scenario City would inevitably be promoted.
But what if you are Norwich and told you will be relegated?

Clubs that had mathematically secured promotion should not have been denied it. Clubs that were blatantly not good enough to stay in their current leagues should also have been relegated. It would be like keeping Southend and Bolton in League 1-nonsensical.

However the big difference is that the non-league clubs had requested this whereas the EFL clubs have committed to completing the season.

Well yes it is no secret that they seem to have a lot of money for the level they are at, and the manager admits as much in his interviews. But they've got some decent players whose talent would be wasted with another season in the Midland Football League.

Honestly that would be it. I can’t support all the time, see success just around the corner and have it taken away. You just can’t take a season away after so much has been completed. They could scratch it off in 3 weeks if they wanted to. Void the season and I’m done.

We haven't won it this season yet...

But to answer your question, no I don't think we would.
