Exactly what a good manager should do. Bassette did have something about him I will admit, but if he's a bad egg, then move him along.

If fit I would be tempted to bring Eccles in for Sakamoto and switch BTA to the right

Interesting that you presumably think he stays if we fail to get promoted.

On the face of it this seems good news. However I’d say his main attribute is pace…so has never really done too well against us cos of Milan.
The Korean lad who they’ve got on loan from spurs looks tricky as fuck.

JDS is weak; clearly not what we need if we are talking automatics. Along with midfield cover left back is the position most in need of attention. No matter how much JDS improves, it is from a low base and we need better.

That said, one of the neatest moments on Saturday was JDS, in a tight spot, hit a sweet little chip to Grimes over the legs of a Blackburn player to get out of jail. It was the action of a player full of confidence. He didn't just boot it up field (as I might have)

He starting week in week out and we are top of the league with amazing GD

Nothing clear about it

It would be interesting to see some heat maps. I feel Grimes often covers the left as it's a weakness for us.

Grimes has been a great signing for us. We have improved considerably since he arrived.

He’s one of those players who just gets on with his job, which he does with great consistency.

He’s not at all a “showy” player and it would be easy to underestimate his impact, although in fairness I don’t think the wise heads on this forum do

Bassette is the only player who I have sensed any animosity towards from Lampard.
Even when Simms was putting in some truly awful cameos last season he always seemed fairly warm towards him.

I think Bassettes attitude just rubbed him up the wrong way.

I say this every time we play Pompey, that the 3-3 draw with 9 men was the moment the Robins years turned from recovery to growth. We could beat anyone in League 1. And the Kastaneer tackle well what can you say?

The best thing is Curaçao can still qualify for the World Cup. So Kastaneer could do this on the world stage

Wasn't on the bench on Saturday so a start seems a bit unlikely perhaps?

I feel like it’s an extra flex on your opponents when you beat them wearing a kit as God awful as this.

Even if that was true we are top and on fire. So it's not clear that we need better for automatics at all is it?

Just got on the train at Cov station for Fratton via Southampton. Flew over for Saturday and this one. Staying at the Ibis next to the ground. Looking forward to getting some sea air, fresh fish and chips and (hopefully) three points. Is there a designated away pub? Safe journey all.

I don't think that's entirely true PVA.

JDS hasn't been great whilst he's been with us, admittedly towards the back end of last season and in some parts of this he's been a lot lot better but to say he's having a good season is stretching it a bit.

Dasilva is having a good season. He is great with the ball at his feet (as good as anyone in the squad). He gets back well and has not been beaten too often (all full back get beaten sometimes). His attacking play has been decent and his interplay with the midfielders is consistently good. I really think that people are desperate to find a fall guy. I'm surprised people are still doing it when the season is going so well.

People that think he's not having a great season need to have an interest away from footy because footy is clearly not their thing

I don't have an agenda, no beef with JDS or anyone else, I'm not a boo boy I don't want or are looking for a fall guy, I'm just saying it how I see it.

We undoubtedly need better to secure automatics. Most on here thought that would be beyond us this year and play offs were the goal. After all, the summer window had been poor [allegedly]. There are only two places up for grabs and at least four teams in the mix. Complacency, which is rife on here right now, is the enemy.

We only have 4 outfield players of definite Prem quality - Grimes, Wright, Rudoni and MVE. If we are after the autos we have to address that starting with JDS.

The Good Companion Pub Restaurant in Portsmouth

Combining good food & drink with friendly service and inviting atmosphere at The Good Companion. A pub at the heart of Portsmouth, we cant wait to welcome you!

The Good Companion is normally decent for away fans. I'm meeting a Pompey supporting mate in here as it happens but I've been in before for this fixture and it's been full of Cov.

Once again it's not undoubtable is it??????????? Were too with him playing every game!

Why don't you just reword it instead of doubling down?
