Only trouble with that is, for me, this a shit or bust season, a one chance scenario.

It's a massive factor that this is Coventry City and we have been in perpetual decline for nearly 20 years. Nothing but doom and gloom for every season more or less.

We don't make the playoffs this season the drop in ST's and interest next season is going to be at an all time low.

I don't want to see him sacked, but if we start slipping, but are still in with a chance of a playoff place at least, then I think we would HAVE to replace him.

For me this is a one season deal. I know stats show that most clubs don't come straight back up, but have any of those clubs had season after season after season of demise and no top 6 finishes?

Nearly 20 years of decline, so for me it is shit or bust. We HAVE to have a successful season.

He should of been sacked after Morecambe.

cant agree that Vale were just as bad. They deserved their win and played to their strengths. If one of their target men had played for us rather than Biamou we would have won in my opinion.
We offered little because absolutely nothing stuck.

To be fair, 3 of those 4 have only got injured in the last month. I still maintain it's mostly the way we set up, although how deep our defence is sitting is becoming as much of an issue as the gap was in attacking midfield. It forces the long ball out of Doyle and the CBs towards a completely isolated Biamou.

You’re right again but I’m certain (and it’s only my opinion) that having had Andreu for the whole season, coupled with a fit Jones and Kelly, we’d be in the Autos. Only my opinion and others will disagree...hey ho.

Hoping Robins makes the necessary changes and gets back to moving up the table.

6 points for last 9. Not too bad and about right for where we are.

Fair comment regarding Jones and Kelly. People thought our season was over when Jones got injured and as you point out, it hasn’t really.

Without Andreu though....who knows how much higher we’d be with him in the side. No one...not even me but my gut says we’d certainly be a couple of wins better off.

Whilst we’ve not been brilliant this season (consistently), we’ve shown glimpses such as Luton away. To do so with the injuries we’ve had has been ok.

We need to go up at the first attempt. I trust in Robins. Not quite ccfc4life-Mowbray levels but I’m quietly confident we’ll finish at least in the play offs.

Thing is, Carlisle is a difficult place to go to too and they have now won 3 in a row, 2 league games and then Gillingham in the FA Cup.

They must really fancy their chances against us on Saturday.

Hate to say it, but this is the most I have been down all season. Always been upbeat, despite some poor results here and there, but this time I really thought we had turned a corner and I was expecting at least a draw today. Thought we had at last started to build momentum.

Very glum in the Otis household this evening.

Lets put the real stats up last 6 games

14 Coventry City D 1-1 v STEV.. D 1-1 v CRAW.. L 2-0 v MORE.. W 2-1 v CHEL.. W 3-2 v WYCO.. L 1-0 v PORT.. 6 2 2 2 7 8 -1 8

so its actually 8 points from 18 , minus 1 goal difference and current form sitting at 14th, this is hardly inspiring

6 points from the last 9 is real stats. Cut them any way you want to, we’re still inside the play offs without a few of our best players.

Nope, Russian and she totally blames Ukraine for the Russians having to go in and 'help people' over there.

She watches videos every single day with Russian politicians slagging off Ukraine blaming them for everything.

In her world Putin is a great, kind and generous man who would never hurt anyone.

I don't speak Russian, but can hear video after video with aggressive political debates and the word 'Ukraine,' keep spouting up.

Putin can do NO wrong in her world and all the troubles there are completely Ukraine's own fault.

Shouldn't have been relegated in the sodding first place. Injuries to Andreu and Jones are horrendous luck but remains to be seen how effectively they'll be replaced. It could be by the slimiest own goal to sneak in to 7th place on the toss of a coin, it doesn't matter, we must get back immediately. Otherwise the only way out will be down.

Oh blimey Otis, that’s tough. I think most people in this country would have a different view, although it doesn’t mean to say we’re right! I see that they’ve barred Navalny from running next year, it’s hard to see anybody beating Putin until he’s ready to go himself. Sorry to go off piste!

Yeah, I know. Weird isn't it. She is totally and completely obsessed with Putin and will not hear a word against him.

All I can tell you is she's watching endless Russian TV programmes, that look a bit like Question Time, but they are all standing at podiums as per our leadership debates over here.

Lots of angry debating and all I hear is the frequent use of the word 'Ukraine ' and I all get from her is 'you'll never believe what the Ukrainians have done now' and she's constantly moaning that they now no longer teach Russian in Ukrainian schools etc.

I know a few Russians through work and with one exception they are pretty well balanced and embarrassed about Putin and a lot of Russians intolerance. They are a younger generation so perhaps that’s why.

I saw the other day on the Beeb site they were talking about a lot of the younger generation were moving away and out of Russia.

I think the younger generation are a lot more questioning in their attitudes.

Having lived in Russia and seen at first hand the way the administration works people don't challenge anything because they know the state will crush them. There are demos most weekends in Moscow but it is so well policed and monitored that it generally becomes a muted protest.

There forwards are two old cloggers and pope is possibly the slowest player in the whole of the 92 clubs, we made it a difficult place to go to I bet Luton don’t

Carlisle is a must win
Our away form has deserted us just as our home form has picked up
Need a target man in the window
Too many of our players are being bullied in this league

It's the inconsistency that is bugging all of us. McNulty gets his game face on then contributes with little effect. It's frustrating. Did we have a bad day?, eat too much turkey? MR's must get in their faces and remind them 3rd place and a toe in league one was looking good, until we failed to turn up today. There comes a time when the games start running out, we must stay on it and fight harder. A win Saturday is a requirement now.

Got to be honest and say that this was the first game I've been to for a while, and maybe that's why I'm not too down from the result.

Plenty to work on, but also some positives.

The Duck looked excellent when he came on, far more lively than most of the rest of our attacking options, imho. Why wasn't he on form the start?

Bayliss was outstanding in midfield and I think we've got a real find there - confident with the ball, composed, and can cover ground.

We need to work on our plan when getting the ball down the flanks. Maybe a bit too much adrenaline in our crossing today, but given that we don't seem to have any real aerial threats I'd work on hammering the ball low and fast across the box, rather than looking for the far post header every time. I don't think defenders at this level are comfortable facing their own goal close in, but there are too many big, strong lads to beat if you just drop it in the mixer and hope.

Finally, we need to go away and work out how to defend throw-ins near our penalty area. One in front and one behind, and don't let the ball get back to the thrower without him seeing a dozen studs coming his way! Leastways that's what I like to happen. We were far too slow picking up from throw-ins, and if I saw it correctly then I think that's what cost us the goal...

I still think we've got every chance of getting out of this division, but we've got to get the basics right (every time, not eight out of ten times), and play to our strengths rather than the opposition's. And more tempo, lots more tempo please. Knacker out the lumps, and we'll start finding a bit more space.

Other than that, not too bad!

Coventry had a large Ukraine community as my father used to use their club on leicester Causeway I grew up with a lot of them, such good honourable people.
Also had a lot of Polish and a few Russian fiends, these communities were quite close as they all escaped communism in their countries after World War 2, and saw themselves as the lucky few.

Yeh, I always consider myself lucky, as well as God knows how many years of hurt, I had 3 or 4 years from 1963, when we used to roll teams over at home, won two promotions, and it was often a matter of not whether we would win but by how many. There’s been a few good times after those halcyon days, but a lot more pain!

I started in 1963 too and so was lucky to watch very well organised teams with some inspirational players in them. It's mainly been downhill since then. Our current situation is largely down to injuries to midfielders. We started the season with inadequate cover in those positions and now we're paying the price for that. Hopefully, this will be addressed in January.

Well, hate to say I told you so, but I said at the start of the season we didn't have enough cover in midfield, but a number of posters dismissed that notion and said we'd be fine.

I was worried that we only had Doyle and Kelly in the middle really, with just Ben Stevenson as back up.

We were overloaded with strikers (Biamou, Thomas, Beavon, McNulty, Nazon, Ponticelli), but rather weak in terms of numbers in midfield.
