Irony is you get 20 points for a short trip to West Brom away on a Tuesday but only 10 for a long New Years Day trip to Cardiff.

Yeah NYD game should be at least 20, don't think we took many last year.

In general they should probably be a bit more flexible with the points system to encourage attendances, could do offers like 50 pts for Boro away. And games like WBA should be 0 points.

Totally agree. Burnley on a Tuesday night is a good example. That's seriously commitment and effort.

Ultimately, like with England, Coventry City won't care how many we take away and would rather reward fans for home tickets.

With the Oxford tickets going so quick and the old argument of closed shop I've updated the view of away tickets. I've had the same mate moaning too! I didn't get a ticket myself either as I'm on 1420pts (stupidity of my own for not getting a season ticket in 2021-22 season and buying a ticket for 21 out of the 23 home games instead and not linking the majority to my supporters ID 🤷‍♂️)

* Portsmouth game confirmation of selling out, was not communicated immediately by the club so have been told by someone with 540pts that they couldn't get a ticket so have got it down as selling out at the 600pts level.

If anyone notices any errors - please call it out

Not so much errors, but with eg Blackburn we had 2k and you have 49% which is correct, but if we'd sold those we could've asked for more so 2000 wasn't 100% and the 981 more like 25% of what we could take. Not saying it's wrong but can be misleading. Eg Saturday was 88% to take 3500 but if we'd not asked for more would have been 1500 less but 100%.

*edit. Also weirdly for the first time I can remember, it wasn't pay on the gate there too so that needs changing, no idea why though with so few sold.

** 2nd edit: also points could be achieved for home cup games. Don't want to skew the % numbers etc but should probably record for maximum possible points to be validated.

Yes agree with the potential additional tickets - it's the same for Preston too (on another note, it infuriates me that we rarely land Blackburn/Preston at the end of the season for a 3pm Saturday ko, feels like it's always winter or a midweek game!)

Haven't fully updated Sheff Wed yet as no confirmation for away numbers

Home Cup games - have this already as within our group we were questioning how many points would be possible (although Father in-law and his partner go every game without fail but they never know their points total as don't think it's relevant to them when you're guaranteed tickets)

People need to make the most out of the next 3 away days really. I would be surprised if Plymouth makes it below 1000 pts & Luton will be similar to Oxford.

When collecting my ticket on the day. I asked the ticket office lady at Blackburn (out of mild curiosity) if you could pay on the gate as there was a card reader sticking out the window and she confirmed that there were away tickets available to purchase.... so I'm not sure why we tweeted that they weren't available on the day.

Will Sheff U make it to general do we think?

Edit: Oops I read it as 3700, not 2700!

Well, I’m on holiday that weekend so I’ll be on 1400+ by then, you can have my ticket and maybe a spare if it gets to my brother’s points range.

Kind of you to offer, thank you, but I'd be after a few for some mates. Thanks though (y)

and forgotten about in my mind as an away game I had to miss due to my daughters dance festival and with nothing to play for I didn't have a reasonable excuse!!

Since we've been back in the Championship, our away games against both teams, half have been midweek across the 10 games! I tend to always go away to both these clubs but we tend to love a cold midweek game up in the North West

Absolutely - I can see Derby going at 1,000; Sheff Utd, Hull & Plymouth at 1,200 if we're still in the mix of the play offs
Luton 1,800....they may even start at 1,900 as the allocation is even smaller than Oxford (c.1350 tickets)

Updated again for those thinking it's a closed shop....

Also, higher points required for more games this season but there's a reasons listed below why on the "hardest to get" away tickets.

As a stats anorak please keep this up!

Would it be possible to add the first category for sale (e.g. 1500+) as well so we can all try and work out the point brackets.

I think the conclusion is if there are for example 2500 tickets and it starts at 1600+, there are less than 2500 at 1600+ but more than 2500 at 1500+

So people who didn’t have enough points for Sunderland away could have still put in the hard yards and went to all the away games that went to general sale? 🤔
Still see it as a bit of a closed shop really.

Depends on how long they have been doing the "hard yards", doesn't it? As the stats show plenty of games have gone to general sale. There were swathes of empty seats around me at Sunderland back in November. It's only a "closed shop" for big games it seems. There weren't any complaints of a closed shop back in November.

Tbf that game in Nov was one of the 4 we missed as it was the week directly after Boro away and I only wanted to drive to one of them. Made a weekend of the Boro game. My daughter was disappointed as for whatever reason we didn't do Sunderland last year either (I think it was New Year's day or something), anyhow means that having now been to Plymouth, the SoL was the only Championship ground she's not been to, so she was made up that we're playing them and can now rectify on Tuesday. I think at her age (17) I'd probably only done a handful of away grounds. Having slipped to L2 she's now in the mid 60's of different grounds plus multiple visits to some.

Edit - just checked and it was 23rd Dec in 23/24 so I think was so close to Christmas etc and we travel on 24th.

I'd done a few by that age, but not as many as my son. I made up for it during the 80s and went home and away for pretty much the whole decade with my mate and a gang of others. My lad must have done 50 odd at the age of 19, which is pretty remarkable.

There will be swathes of empty seats around you on Tuesday too as Sunderland only giving us 2,500 in a stand which holds way more.
