Yeah I know it's his own fault etc but if the courts turn around and say 3 years then the ban from the club is somewhat disproportionate.

I will reserve full judgement until after the court decision - and I am sure the petition will be used as some part of his defense.

Do you know what indefinite means? It could end up being only 1 year. Or even a week.

Why would the petition make a difference?

How can you tell if the ban from the club is disproportionate if you don't know how long the club have banned him for?

You may need to turbo charge the car to get up to 100 in that short distance!

I doubt the court will take a soft view, I hope I am wrong as of course no one wants to see any other City fan get banned.

Yes it does, but the way Alan said was with the intention of spite and it's not like that at all.

Actually, that's not quite clear in fairness. The club weren't legally obliged to give him a ban of any kind. They could have simply let the courts deal with it.

And SISU, as we've seen from other threatened court actions against fans in the form of the trust, do seem to act spitefully. So it's not entirely unreasonable to assume that there might be some malice here. It's a matter of opinion really.

Either way, can I say that I'm dead set against anyone going onto the pitch for any reason, unless playing or invited. I remember the fences and how that all ended up. I don't want to give anyone in authority the excuse to head down that road again.

Ah a ban so what might as well ban us all from home games that is what their game plan has been all along.

Never mind he can join us on the hill again we haven't banned him,:claping hands:

Is it illegal to go onto the pictch? And what do other clubs do when fans go onto the pitch? Are they all let off with a ruffle of the hair and a "Tut! Boys will be boys"? If so, you have a valid point.

Duffer read the article I disagree.

A spokesperson for Coventry City Football Club said: “There is no grey area when it comes to entering the field of play – when a supporter does so, they are committing an illegal act.

“When it happened at an away fixture earlier this season, the club had to give an undertaking to the FA that it would do everything within its power to stop it happening again.

“The strongest sanction the club can bring is a ban on attending home games and that is what we have done in this case, for an indefinite timescale."

CCFC are not the only Club to hand out these punishments, there have been simialr actions Leeds and Wolves also.

I think Alan blaming Sisu out of spite is clear in this comment though.

He said: “It might have had something to do with my shirt. Was it Coventry City or Sisu that banned me? It probably was Sisu."

I mean FFS how petty, you comitted an criminal act what did he expect to be showered in gold?

I've often wondered that. I bet anyone who's ever been banned has never been stopped from going in. Regardless of which club they were banned from.

Pictures of football fans with banning orders are given to police and stewards before matches.

So it is policed, plus they get arrested and put back before the courts if caught contravening them. Also some people on banning orders have to surrender their passports to the police before international games. If they fail to do so that is also an offence regardless of whether they travel or not.

Maybe all those that go to Sixfields should run on the pitch as their protest after all it will do them good.

Only at Coventry City though? I presume fans of other clubs are just let off?

No home and away fans. Who are likely to attend a fixture.

Was this guy the one abusing city fans at sixfields calling them scabs?
Another thing, what would the opinion be if for instance a pitch invader stabs a player? Bit random, but these things can happen out of the blue, remember that poor soldier.

He's talking about people running on the pitch.

You are literally the only person to mention the fucking hill.

Why on earth would you throw that out there? Just because you hope that you can have a go at him for being shit because he doesn't agree with your view? No, this one is just a Nazi. But even if he was that guy, does it make any difference to what he did or how he should be punished?

Another thing, what would the opinion be if for instance a pitch invader stabs a player? Bit random, but these things can happen out of the blue, remember that poor soldier.

Yes, remember that poor soldier. Better ban all Muslims from the street. Do you seriously believe this stuff?

Also, what if a supporter brings a sniper rifle in and shoots the players from the stands? I think we'd better get onto the FA to make all games behind closed doors just in case.

Just pointing out banning orders are enforced by police and stewards. Remember West Midlands Police cover various venues and sometime out of force areas and officers are used from across the force not just local. So those transient officers take their local knowledge with them. Some Leicester fans thought they'd be okay going to Hinkley matches....saw in the paper they got done a few years back.

So before anybody decides to protest....don't fall foul of a banning order.

It is why I posted against throwing tennis balls on the pitch at Arsenal....they could interpreted as missiles....and you could pick up a banning order potentially.

Clearly not, I was talking about a pitch invader stabbing a player? But you just make stuff up and then the other chuckle brother can come on and misread something else and you can ruin a few threads.
