I'd say little ability is doing him a slight disservice as for a centre back he was strong in the tackle and in the air but yes he was no Franco Baresi.

He always gave 100% as well which is always going to endear you to the fans. And he made maraudering runs. And had a good song. And he played a blinder for City in the last game at Highfield Road.

Not sure if this'll meet your version of "recent", but the best two I saw were Curtis and then Yorath.

The original post mentioned 'best City 11' not 'best City 11 who played in the top flight' nor 'best City 11 of recent times'. Unless the original post outlined a set of 'rules' as to who we could and could not pick, we can pick anyone we want. Or maybe we should have done like the 'best of' magazine surveys where they name 25 players and ask you to pick the best 11, but only from those 25. I'll stick with John Aloisi as a striker.
