It's more a case of what weirdo sings any political songs when the team needs the support.

The same who post photos in support of Rupert Lowe. How thick do you have to be to be an average working (or non working) person from Coventry to think that Rupert Lowe has your best interests at heart? Incredibly thick I would suggest

The problem is, when you're top of the league in your newly purchased ground with your World class midfielder manager in the dugout and getting some of the most extensive media coverage outside of the Premiership it's hard to maintain the backs against the wall, us against the world, the council, the insects and the EFL attitude that we had a few years ago when the place was rocking.
As welcome as all those things I mentioned are

As you said there's a lot of fans who just expect us to be winning now, i guess this is how supporting a good team is these days

One of the noisier songs from the corner today, unfortunately. Atmosphere was terrible besides the few minutes after the goal.

We've got so many good songs and we never seem to sing them at home games.

Home and away too. Wednesday away was okay but Leicester was woeful.

A world away from 2021-23.

I think if we got promoted we'd go back to being big underdogs in nearly every game, which might bring that back. There's a sizeable chunk of the fanbase now who has only known going up through the divisions, not what came before.

I think the only away day I've been onthis, season which I thought the atmosphere was really good was Derby
Though Millwall sounded good though I wasn't there but it came across well on the tele

yep we are awful on occasion these days, too many people expect us to win easily and expect others to get the songs going.

this is south stand and corner this season

Away days should be better, it's mostly the hardcore support that's been there all along. Been to no away games this season so can't really judge other than how it sounds on the TV.

Millwall wasn't great but the stand doesn't lend to good atmospheres.

It's a mix of a lot of things. Entitlement, 'new fans', lack of good new songs and at home games there's no banter between fans because the corner can't hear the away fans.

I always think we've become quite a nice fan base. It's not an issue, but there seems to be a lot more families at away games compared to a decade ago.

People aren't joining in when songs are started though. I guess that's why the drummer gives up.

It was deafening for the few minutes after the goal. As loud as I've ever heard the place.

Probably why you don't hear older songs like Take Me Home, Coventry homes, Hey Jude/Sky Blues, You are my City etc.

They were heard at all games 10/15 years ago.

I don't think that many actually moved to be honest. I don't recognise anyone I used to see in the corner.

It wouldn't surprise me if 70% of the people in the end weren't going regular even 3 years ago.

The thing missing from away days now is the 'day out' fan who's likely to make more of day out of it on the beers in a group of mates.

We have largely the same people going to every away game now.

I don't see this as a bad thing necessarily provided that the place is still an intimidating place to come, which for the most part it is. We had a good number of games a few seasons back where the atmosphere would be a bit flat before the team did something on the pitch.

You are my city got a round today. PUSB barely gets to the end, used to be it there were 3 sets of claps with "City" at the end it was ok, 4 and you were onto a winner. Barely get to the end of the song and if you do, there aren't too many singing it around you! Like some of the newer songs, the EMC one is great and is really noisy, but the adopted Palace one is just so slow and mundane "CCFC Sky Blue Army". The Kylie Minogue tribute is quite good though..

The best example of this was the Bristol City game in 2021. The fans properly carried the players that day when we went down to 10. Look how empty it was too! Crazy.

There has been an attempt by right wing groups to recruit football hooligans to their cause since the 70s when the BNP actively tried to get football people to join their cause.
At places up north, Leeds come to mind, they had some success.
The right wing skinhead hooligan was prevalent in Coventry when the asian doctor was murdered. The asian and social liberal community in the city rose up to oppose their disgraceful actions aided and abetted by 2Tone.
TV documentaries at the time, exposed how they plotted to get people to join their cause.
It is the same playbook today, but somewhat more subtle with Stop The Boats flyers at matches, singing songs about Starmer. Undermine Labour, get Reform in then try to move the country further to the extreme right.

They did a protest, because they are in fear, fear that what Neville said is paradoxically proving a point about them. The fact that what Gary Neville said is 100% on point. The fact that wealthy millionaires and billionaires leverage the working class to believe that a tiny minority of immigrants are the cause of every struggling persons issues scares the hell out of them.

They are then instructed (by a movement led by an ex criminal, and person jailed for his part in a racist killing "andrew currien is the name") to put flags on lampposts and roundabouts in every community to impose authority and to be threatening to those who are not from the same background, creed or colour. For anyone who champions this in Coventry, a city which reached out to people in Ireland and the Caribbean islands amongst other places to come to Coventry and help rebuild it after the war. Shame on you, know your history. I hope I speak for most of ccfc, but this intolerance shouldn't be tolerated, and a few flags on lampposts isn't representative of this great city which is heading upwards. No need for any of this in Coventry, come to the game, sing your heart out for the club, use politics only when it's directly related to the club (aka the council and SISU)

I sang Farage is a wanker at the same time and got death stares from them. I wouldn’t bring politics into football but if they do then the anti-opinion should also be fair under their beloved free speech.

Anyway this is my first post I’ve seen tonight and I’ve just got home after an evening celebrating. No matter what political spectrum you’re from, we’re all CCFC and tonight is one for rejoicing. I’m so happy to be a sky blue tonight. We’re going up guys.
