First goal conceded: Stupid foul by Thomas. Wall had a hole and shot should not have gone through.

Second goal conceded: Stupid foul by Kitching. Wall set up poorly and allowed ball to get around it and beat goalie at the near-post was watching the ball and their player ran in to him never a foul

From the stand it looked like Kitching was watching the ball to head it and their player ran in to him so never a foul

It sounded like he got little support from BTA from the cwr commentary
He didnt get much support from BTA. And i alluded to that in my forst post. Hes not been great this season but that's probably not helped by no support. I expect him to improve once Saka is back fully fit. But we can't rely on Saka, who is as injury prone as Jack Wheelchair, to make our RB better. Hes not always gonna have Saka there to hold his hand. And, if and when he has an off game, why is his replacement/cover still sat on the bench not getting a look in?

Silver linings, you never know this may ensure that we bring in some players before deadline day. Maybe another win and top 2 makes Doug think we're fine with no more additions

Point is it was obvious from fairly early in the second half certain players were tired, fullbacks were being caught out etc but he waited until 87th minute to make a substitution. We could easily have shipped a third if Oxford capitalised on their chances. He's got 3 fullbacks and 2 CMs on the bench - someone should have been on before the 87th minute.

I'm even more baffled now I've had time to think about it. We got battered in the 2nd half and only bought Sakamoto on with 10 minutes to go. I just don't get it
4 mins. He came on in the 86mins. Taking away stoppage time (can't remember how much was added) he only had 4 mins, not 10!

He said saka wasn't fit and let's be honest anyone with a brain could have assumed that was the reason. Stop moaning because we don't win every game
Why have him on the bench then? Not expecting him to play the whole game or even 45, but if you're not fit enough to play more than 6 mins there is really no point being on the bench

It's a vote of no confidence to those on the bench that they would offer no more than those knackered players on the pitch.

EMC, BTA, DaSilva should all have been hooked with 25 to go. MVE and Grimes probably 10 mins later.
I really hope we’re ready to go on a plan b or c as I can’t see us getting Hughes

Yeah the same defence got top 6 last season but we’re averaging 1.5 goals conceded per game with our first choice defence. The window is closing, we need an answer.

We had an average of 1.26 conceded per game last season and scored nowhere near the 3.5 goals scored average that we have now.

A clean sheet in our next game puts us under 1.26 by the way but that is hypothetical at this stage, granted.

But you need to compare both GA & GF this season to last for this conversation to be balanced really especially when not 1 goal we have conceded has led to us losing a league game so far.

But MVE was poor today. Whether KKH was on the bench or not, MVE had a poor game. He wasn't the only one, but when KKH is on the bench, why not use him. Thats why he, specifically is my target. Wright for Simms isnt like for like, its a downgrade. Torp for an unfit Sheaf isnt like for like, it would make us more defensive when we need a goal. Kitching for Bidwell is a downgrade.
The only position that we could use a sub and improve today was at RB, yet we didnt. KKH may of come on and added nothing, but in terms of like for like on the bench, he's the only one. And if were not going to use that, then why waste the £4m in the forst place? That couldve been used better elsewhere and bring in a Brau type player to sit on the bench at RB.
As many arguments have been made over the last few weeks, its a squad game. Yet our best/most ready squad player is sitting on the bench watching.

But you said MVE has been poor all season. I’m not sure why you’re tying yourself in knots. And for the record, from what we’ve seen from KKH so far I.e Milwall midweek, I’m not convinced.

That 2 point loss is down to Lampard he can't see through the fucking trees only one team looked up for it second half and he done fuck all until the 86th minute.Oxford 2-1 down 3 changes and should of won the game to be fair.

How long until Dovin is ready do we think its all well and good wanting him back in the team and saying we dont concede that with him in but we wont have him for months and need to get behind Rushworth and hope he builds up his confidence and set piece saving ability

Whole team was knackered and FL didn’t make any subs until a couple mins left. And that too only 1 sub. Should have made multiple subs and waste a bit of time when 2-1 up.

Do you know what though, fair play to Oxford. Had a disrupted pre-season and came out that second half a different animal.

They knew they couldn’t match us for quality on the ball, so they just came out and fought. Second half they seemed like they won every second ball for about 20 minutes.
Correct. Oxford were good second half

Im not tying myself in knots. He has been poor this season. First half v Derby if I was manager he'd have been hooked. He came up with 2 important assists though which immediately erases the shit first half from most people's memory. Today was poor, not the only one, but poor none the less. QPR ge aside, he's not been at his best this season.
KKH hasn't been given an opportunity yet to show what he's capable of. He didnt get PNE POTS and PPOTS because he's shit. Hes clearly more than capable. But to judge him based on 1 game with 8 changes is a far stretch. If after a run of games he's still poor, then id agree, but to write him off?? He shouldve AT LEAST got 10 mins today in a game where MVE had done nothing.
