How long until Dovin is ready do we think its all well and good wanting him back in the team and saying we dont concede that with him in but we wont have him for months and need to get behind Rushworth and hope he builds up his confidence and set piece saving ability
Let's hope he does come back, he'll need time. If he's back to where he was this season it will be a bonus from my pov. What we really needed was an experienced and established keeper to cover him and give him that time, not a nipper who's coming off a missed season to boot.

We had an average of 1.26 conceded per game last season and scored nowhere near the 3.5 goals scored average that we have now.

A clean sheet in our next game puts us under 1.26 by the way but that is hypothetical at this stage, granted.

But you need to compare both GA & GF this season to last for this conversation to be balanced really especially when not 1 goal we have conceded has led to us losing a league game so far.

But then we’re creeping back toward the old familiar state of needing to score a high number of goals to win. We’ve done that for too long.

Teams we have played so far are currently positioned 17th, 18th, 21st and 22nd. We need to be much more disciplined and organised at the back if we are to keep in touch with playoffs over the next period of more difficult fixtures.
Derby were winning away at Ipswich until the 106th min, took a penalty to nick a draw, still early days and were averaging 2 points a game, prob our best start to a season in ages, not suprising we drop points with the same back 4 as last season, plus the keeper isn‘t as solid as we thought he’d be, just makes it leaving it this long to get another centre half in a bit of a worry

We haven't been found out

We blew them away first half.

The concerning point is the manager doesn't know how to mix it up when we have pressure on us.

Last bit as screen fucked to quote...

Wasn't that what we were pre warned and also an MR trait?

I'm happy with where we are btw, just pointing out the similarities of FL and MR.

Could have put Saka or KKH on for BTA on the right

Could have put Simms on for EMC and moved Wright out to the left if he didn't want to take him off, or could have brought Breu on for EMC.
Exactly some changes/any kind of changes were needed and stubborn FL didn’t make them. Why even have a bench then?

Im not tying myself in knots. He has been poor this season. First half v Derby if I was manager he'd have been hooked. He came up with 2 important assists though which immediately erases the shit first half from most people's memory. Today was poor, not the only one, but poor none the less. QPR ge aside, he's not been at his best this season.
KKH hasn't been given an opportunity yet to show what he's capable of. He didnt get PNE POTS and PPOTS because he's shit. Hes clearly more than capable. But to judge him based on 1 game with 8 changes is a far stretch. If after a run of games he's still poor, then id agree, but to write him off?? He shouldve AT LEAST got 10 mins today in a game where MVE had done nothing.

Good job you’re not the manger then and thankfully he got the assists. I’m not writing off KKH or saying Milan’s second half performance today was good. It wasn’t. All I’m saying is the Milan has had a superb start. He certainly has been “at his best”

Doesn't help that FL is stuck with Robins' deadwood.

We have a strange squad. A lot of players who we spent money on and can't shift them for a profit. Doug won't lose money, we've seen that.

If Thomas had not been so careless we would have finished the game off by halftime. We were fantastic.
However, if Lampard had made earlier subs in the second half, I am sure we would have gained 3 points.
Thomas on a yellow and playing poorly; Grimes, Torp and Rudoni knackered; wide players not helping out well enough defensively. All clear signs we needed fresh legs. Why Lampard didn't see this is baffling.

Who would come on for Thomas? And I’d rather Torp and Rudoni stayed on.

Really surprised we didn’t see KKH for MVE or even Brau at left wing. I thought they could have given us the fresh legs and a bit more defensively.

Bidwell with Kitching moving to right side. I agree, Brau would have given us something different and a bit of energy. I would have kept Rudoni on too but not changing any of the midfield three, who all were flagging was always going to be a problem. Allen and Sheaf on for Torp and Grimes would at least freshen it up.

Rushworth didn't set the wall.

Oggy said it after the game, the player moved the ball which allowed him to bend it round the wall.

Referee should have made him take it again, but hey ho what do you expect with these officials these days. 😡

We struggle at set pieces so our moronic defenders give away soft free kicks good work boys

We looked tired in that second half . Drained , subs was needed earlier in my opinion. We can’t leave it until the 85th minute for any player to make an impact. Norwich will beat us next week I hate to say . ( in my opinion)
Bet you they don't beat us next week😉

He also said the wall wasn't set right before the ball was moved and that the players should be moved by the keeper, or take it upon themselves to move, if the ball gets moved. Shambles all round really.

Moving the ball when the ref turns his back is pretty much the oldest trick in the book. I can't believe that a ref at any level falls for that one, it's piss poor.

But then it's also up to the players to make a bit of noise and let the ref know rather than just take it on the chin. Poor all round in truth.

It’s been a good start to the season but Norwich - Leicester - Blues will tell us a lot I think
Think if we beat Norwich it’s been a good start points wise, football has been scintillating at times, but 8pts from 4 against the bottom 6 is a bit meh tbh.

If we play like we did against QPR and first half against Oxford then Norwich or Leicester won't live with us

Agree the players who were in the Wall surely could see he moved the ball, so they should have been screaming at the referee that he'd moved the ball, we are just too nice.

I don’t blame Rushworth for the first. I know he palms it out but the Oxford player reacts better than our defenders. 2nd one is poor to concede at that post even though he’s a powerful shot. EMC and Wright just have to score them chances.

2 points dropped but it’s a good and solid start. My concern is soft goals. We need a new CB but what im not sure about is whether that’s the problem or FL system. Everywhere he’s been has been attractive going forward and soft at the back.
