Team picks itself atm. They've got a long throw so not confident about a clean sheet, 2-1 City

DaSilva is way ahead of Bidwell now IMHO, but does not look to be widespread view
I think DaSilva is ahead now. Especially as last season Bidwell didn't seem to protect the left hand edge of the box and just retreated back into the box every time he was ran at. He defended like he was on a yellow card even when he wasn't.

A win is a win. Don't think we are going to replicate our recent exploits. Would take a scrappy 1 nil win all day long.

Doesn't matter if we grind it out. The 3 points is all we are looking for. Any decent performance alongside it, is a bonus

Agreed.

Stoke and Boro both at home to Sheff Utd and WBA respectively in early, lunchtime KOs so a couple of draws there and we could go into the game knowing 3 points would put us top going into the international break (albeit on GD).

Got to be the team that played against QPR to start.

Last league game we won 7-1. Their last game they lost 6-0. We've had an extra day to recover. Easy to get excited about this. Also easy to think typical Cov will lose this 1-0.

If they try and play like they did Wednesday and we can play with the intensity and the press of last weekend we could be looking at a large number of good chances.

But they may well just drop deep to defend and we'll struggle to break that down. I also expect us to concede, probably from a set piece.

I'll go with 4-2 to us.

We are in good fettle in the league & after Frank hopefully gave them a rollicking after the Millwall game , I don’t think complacency will rear its ugly head .
They will ultimately play a negative game to stifle our attack , with Rudi going through the Hull mentality of kick the legs off him !
0 - 4 & a great way to sign off for 2 weeks.

This will be nothing like the Millwall game. Wilson isn't in goal so they won't score every shot on target. Our 1st team will be starting so we will attack from the start. Not a single player of theirs would get into our 1st team. They would struggle to even get on our bench.

Will be a closer game than it would be at home. 4-1 or 5-1 to us.

xG 0.2 - 4.56

Just to finally send Nick over the edge.
Just read that statistics driven Liverpool have for some time discounted XG as only having a very narrow significance and misses other important factors.
Every Championship game is a potential banana skin, as lady luck sometimes intervenes. That said, we should win unless the weather and bad refereeing intervene.

What would you do if Rushworth gets injured before Dovin is fit? Collins?

Thinking about it, height is a good physical attribute for a goalkeeper and Ells Simms is 6'3" 🙂
If Rushworth & Dovin were both injured then i would seek special clearance from the EFL to play 9 outfield players and 2 keepers. Hopefully, between them Wilson & Collins would keep a clean sheet, not guaranteed though!

16% of the Oxford forum have voted for a predicted 9--0 defeat (shows they have a bit of gallows humour) 🤣

Edit: see somebody got there first, having scrolled through the thread!

Don't think that's a help really,we just have to approach the match to get 3 points and at worst settle for one.

If we attack the same way we have in the past two league games there is only one winner really

We all know football doesn't always follow logic though. On paper and form we should win comfortably, but a combination of complacency, poor refereeing and bad luck could easily bite us on the arse. They are likely to try and get stuck into us so its important we are up for that battle, then hopefully we can use that platform to outclass them.

Early goal and they will crumble, but please try not to give away a set piece as we know they will get back in the game.

Nobody staked a claim midweek so the team picks itself. We really should be winning this but you never know in this league, 1-0 would do me. Learning how to keep clean sheets is as important as winning matches.

To move forward as a club we need to reduce the number of goals we are conceding
