Yeah should be a banker so I’m expecting a sweaty 1-0 to Oxford.

Agree same team as QPR. Ideally we can get through unscathed, win the game and have two weeks with our amazing new signings to bed in and our injuries to subside a bit.

Want to win one of this and Norwich though so we’ve got 10 from our first 5.

They lost 6-0 at home last night to Brighton's second string, albeit Oxford also rested a few. We 'should' be a level or 2 above them but as always, it whether we can go up through the gears quickly and put the game to bed. If we get drawn into a turgid game it'll be tough away from home, especially with our far from perfect set piece defending. I'm going 2-1 Cov PUSB

If we can continue too make chances I'm confident of another high scoring victory. Our forward players all look like scoring at present and Oxford have conceded an average of over 2 per game this season in their 5 matches.
Key as always is to score first so they can't just sit back and defend.

Think it's gonna be chucking it down so nice slick surface...so I reckon plenty of goals in this.

We won't keep a clean sheet / conditions.

So I'm going for a 4-1 win.

Our best form of defence is attack! Attack! Really hope we go for the jugular from the start this season.

With the exception of Tats I think Lampard has settled on his starting 11 (which makes the Sheaf question interesting) so expect an unchanged lineup.

Fun as it is we are not going to score a bucketful every week but to be in the mix come May these are games we should be winning with assured efficiency.

Like Arsenal of old I will be just as delighted with a straight forward 1-0 away win.

Rowett loves a set piece so their strength is against our weakness. I think they might play this match like a typical old school away side and kill momentum, restrict space and try and nick a goal from a set piece.

If that happens 1-0 to them or 1-1 wouldnt surprise me as I am not convinced we have figured out how to beat a team sitting deep. Part of the reason we did so well against both Derby and QPR is surprisingly (in the case of Derby) they went a bit more toe-to-toe

But if we start well and score early we could run away with it as it should force them to come out and play a bit more giving us more space to exploit.

If we can win it will have been be a near perfect start to the season. Going into the international break on 10 points from 12 would be brilliant. Even losing in the EFL cup now means we do not have to play Crystal Palace away between the Birmingham and Leicester matches, which is a real positive seeming as the league is and should be the priority this season.

Don't want to get carried away from recent form, but we should be winning this. They've only lost by 1 in the league so far. Ill go 2-1 cov, Wright and Rudi on the scoresheet.

I would prefer Rushworth back in to Wilson. I know Rushworth hasn't had the best of starts (1 pre-season game aside) But I think he could be a top top goalkeeper. Didn't he play really well for Swansea on loan year before last? I think he is rusty having not played many first team match last season (only a couple last season at Hull).

When we come up against teams that are creating more chances and having more shots it would be Rushworth I trust to make more big saves (and claim more crosses).

I can understand Boosh's logic. Rushworth has looked iffy on crosses and OXford put a lot of balls into the box

Subject to our injury position changing or any players being sold, I would select the same starting XI as against QPR.

I suspect that Oxford will park the bus and hope to catch us on the break or score from a set piece. I think we will win but it won't be a walkover. I will go 2-1 but I wouldn't fall over in amazement if it's a bit lie the Hull game and finishes 0-0.

If rushworth was glued to his line we wouldnt have conceded last week at QPR

Apparently they played well defensively against Birmingham (compared to their previous 2 games) but made the game a turgid affair and couldn't get back into it once behind

We should win but can see a 1-0 loss from a set-piece goal

They have signed Ben Davies on loan from Rangers who will no doubt start - aiming to buffer up their defence -

City must take advantage in this early stage - as above same team as QPR and fingers crossed for a similar attacking force

Oxford have just lost 6-0 at home so will be looking to bounce back, but think we'll have enough to beat them.

By all accounts the Oxford pre-season was a shambles (travelled to Indonesia during a monsoon to please their owners- both planned matches called off) so to catch them before the international break when they have a chance to regroup and put a few things right does go in our favour.

when lampard was giving our players their toughest pre-season this is what oxford were up to:

Need an early goal as I think they will just get everyone behind the ball and look to nick it from a set piece.
If we can score early and for e the game I can see it being another big win but otherwise wouldnt be surprised with a 0-0 or 1-0 loss with a frustrating 90 min of lots of possession but no goals

He was very good for Swansea. Been abysmal for us so far. Let’s hope he can improve

As always, first goal will be key. Stays 0.0 suits them in terms of dog fight.

early goal for us, first 20mins or so, fancy us to win without too much issue.
