Forward isn't our weakest position, but with so many players out of form, it's the one that sticks out the most.

This is Haji’s longest baron spell since he’s been at the club, 14 games he’s now played without a goal.

This isn’t just a bad patch unfortunately, he’s missed guilt edge chances.

He’s only contributed one assist in those 14 games and the matches in which he’s contributed a good performance can likely be counted on one hand.

No matter what way you look at, it’s a problem and for Haji’s sake he needs a spell on the bench.

And for the clubs sake, this isn’t a rehearsal for the promotion it could be our only chance in decades
Play Simms and stick with it

Totally agree. They've both improved with Grimes but I'm not impressed. Haven't seen enough of Woolfenden to pass judgement

Simms alone had 2 long spells last season without scoring now look at him

Wright will be fine on or off the bench , my point was that he will be fine he has too much quality to not be

The players who racked up all the wins earlier this season will soon all be fit. We also have a couple of new players to support them. We may cock up against Leicester (but imo, that's more likely to be because of Bobby Thomas' absence). Once he is back and we have BTA and Torp fit, we'll kick on again. Won't be easy, but this league never was.

Simms starting will get us over the line.

Especially with a more dynamic and fresh 3 behind him. We now have the ability to change wingers and the ‘10’ when things aren’t working, and by the looks of it get balls into the box quicker which benefits Simms.

His clumsy touches often overshadow the other good bits he does. He’s far from the finished article but give him consistent game time when he’s fully fit and he’s proven he’ll score goals.

Honestly much rather see him with his characteristic elephant first touch a few times a game than an under confident and zero value add Wright starting.

Haji is not the player we need Haji to be.

Haji was brought in for big money, to replace a player who was one of the best players for this club post Premier League era and despite having 40 goals in 106 games he’s flattered to deceive.

As I’ve said in previous posts, Haji is highly inconsistent in his goal scoring patches, but more than that when he’s not scoring goals, he’s not contributing with assists, notable performances, or anything of note. He’s offered 1 assist in 14 games where’s he scored 0.

The player we need, needs to be influential in as many moments we need him, whether that’s turning in performances where he looks a constant threat and is dangerous, or providing assists for team mates, or better yet scoring goals - right now he’s doing none of the three.

Gyokeres didn’t always score goals, but he provided assists and looked more of a threat going forward which allowed other players to excel - I see none of this with Haji currently.

Players go through baron spells you’re right, but they usually offer something of note. Haji is not, we can’t keep defending him on this.

You know me personally off this forum, you know I’ve been all over the country supporting the club and its players for many years (even in the worst times), like you and many others, I’m not the type of person who usually jumps onto a player with such ease or frustration, but with Haji, I’m sorry to say his attitude looks all wrong and of an individual who doesn’t want to be here, which shows in his performances and I’m at a point where you take what you can get and see him move on.

I would argue LB is our weakest position just based on the drop off after Dasilva.

Think Wright and Simms are both decent strikers. Wright is a massive confidence player and looks to be in his own head. Thought it was telling Lampard’s actions when he was taken off.

Simms gets a bit of a bad rap as feel he is a good striker for us and bar last season has a good record. Feel many other championship teams, he would be a starter for.

Do feel as though nether really suit how we play with Rudoni as don’t think either are great in the hold up play needed when he vacates the 10 position. Personally think we need to assess how we want play as don’t think we are currently playing to their strengths (compare how direct we’ve been compared to earlier in the season).
