I agree all of this is appalling, but not surprising... apart from the pyros. I've never thrown one, but I love to see a good old sky blue smoke bomb. Just me perhaps but I always think they add to the atmosphere.

12 noon kick off time tends to dampen down aggression (lack of pub time) 0 that;s how it works for me, anyway!

In the pub at Crewe a couple of years ago and some plonker set one off inside the pub. Not nice

Do you remember they got all the kids out until it had cleared? Well somehow I got escorted out with the kids while my son who was about 15 at the time was allowed to stay in and was stood laughing and pointing at me while I was stood on the steps with a load of snotty nosed kids waiting for the smoke to go util I was let back in.

Same day as it snowed, and we got stopped by a bloke asking if we were Cov fans (3 of us) 'Yes', said we amidst the then blizzard. 'Ever heard of John o'Rourke?' - gets out his bank card with John O'Rourke printed on it - proceeds to tell us how he had a good drink with Cov fans somewhere in the North West and rattled on for 5 minutes, before declaring 'but I'm not the real one!' (he looked about the right age). Surreal day all round that one (but at least we won (JCH and Bayliss iirc?)

Was that ok St Paddy’s? It can’t have been the real one was he passed away a few years ago, I think!

wasn't the trouble at SA over people in each others seats? How fucking difficult can it be to go to the seat on your ticket?

It never ceases to amaze me how people struggle to find the right seat... check you're in right the block according to your ticket, then check you're in the right row according to your ticket and finally check you are in the right seat number according to your ticket. Simple............alright, maybe that's a bit harder for the ones who have drank ten pints of lager and have just snorted a line of coke, but still simple for the rest of us.

You know, think this must be what happens as you get older. Went to a fair number of away games iround that time, and don't really remember any trouble.

So either I'm gormless, or being younger it just flew over my head... or both, of course(!)

Don't think that was the issue - think others have said, it was caused by a few pay on the dayers heading towards the area nearest the away fans, and occupying ST holders' seats. Stewards not wanting to know (until a punch up occurs).

The stewards are useless then and should start doing their job. It annoys me how stewards freak out if they see you drinking a bottle of water with a cap on it, but will quite happily sit back when they know trouble is about to kick off.

thing is, even if you plonk yourself in someone else's seat, when they come along, just say fine and move, why start fighting with them?
It's ridiculous.
Did it on the train on the way home. Got an earlier train than booked, couple came along, sorry these are our reserved seats. Yeah, no problem and we moved. It doesn't have to be a battle.

It doesn’t help when some away grounds are ‘sit where you want’. At Pompey this season I went to my seat, there was a guy in his 80s there said he was told it was sit where you want so went next to a friend, I said fine and moved on to an empty spot but when the ticket holder came along there he got arsey with me when I said the same. I moved for him but the whole thing isn’t easy.

I think they either need to make it go where you want in away grounds or let you pick your seats so those who want to sit down can go to the front and those that want to stand can head towards the rear.

So true that sit where you want causes too much trouble.
Make the trouble makers sit apart instead of occupying 3 or 4 rows together, soon dampens their spirit.

Is annoying when it’s organised seating and you have a ticket for a specific seat and someone is in it. And when you ask them to move they’ll just stand on the stairs.

Don’t understand, especially when it’s a sellout, why people can’t just go to their seat.

Will be fun if we get repeat twittish behaviour at the MK game with a large number of seat grabbing, beer stealing, toilet wrecking, coke sniffing, stone island wearing day outers!

Yes - was at that one - think it was the 3-2 game (although most of the MK games away are a bit of an alcohol hazed blur, so may have been another) ?

Yeah I’m pretty sure it was either the FA Cup tie or the 3-2. FA Cup seems too recent so I think you’re right.

Everyone is going on about seats at away games in this thread - seats - no one ever bloody sits in them anyway - you buy a seat then stand up for the entire game - oh except at half time when the football stops then you sit down - priceless!
I just don’t get it!

Exactly. Find an area and stand in it. If you want to stand in a certain spot get there early. Should be unreserved at all away games. Although saying that, I never sat in my season ticket seat at the Ricoh and haven’t at St Andrews

Yep I did, not in the Rhino but in the ridiculous melee trying to get in the ground with all the pushing and shoving to break down the barriers. One elderly gentleman on the floor, people trying to help him up getting shoved out of the way, little kids trying to keep upright while apparently grown ups are shoving and swearing like the bunch of morons they are. The set up was stupid and always going to lead to trouble but that does not give our fans the right to be animals.

Grown men unable to hold their beer so having to used the ladies toilets, leaving the doors open and waving their dicks around when there are women and young children in there – now if that’s acceptable to anyone they really need to have a very short chain attached before leaving the rock they live under.

MK last season saw the low life ‘fans’ in the toilets snorting what ever up their noses – kids do not need to see that!

Of course we have some great fans, the majority, but lets not sugar coat what these lowlifes are doing to our club.

Really missed the point. If it’s a sellout and someone is in the seat that you have a ticket for then the whole plan goes to cock. Then I’ve gotta go find somewhere else and be kicked out of every seat I try. If not full like the odd away game, or like always at the Ricoh or SA over half empty then fair enough.

I went for a slash at half time and there was two lads smoking, then 4 blokes of 50+ came out the same cubical obviously on the gear. Was in the pub that got closed for about 30 seconds before they announced they were closing, nipped to the loo there, Coke openly being handed between blokes of 40. Finally, in the rhinosaurus, another piss (broke the seal) and in the cubical all you could hear was credit cards tapping porcelain and a shit load of snorting. Why are adults getting coked up at 1pm on a Saturday to watch football. I think it’s more of a reflection on society than cov fans specifically but we were embarrassing today. Usually the majority are superb, there was more than a fair share of bellends there today. It was toxic from kick off and it was noticeable in lack of chants and singing that it wasn’t the usual crowd

This IS the issue with a lot footy fans now, too many sniffing their lives away. I seen it at Burton mainly the 17-21 age bracket, but plenty of older morons on it too. Lads thinking they’re harder than Superman. Drug testing and sniffer dogs would sort it out but who’s paying for that.

Must have been at least 150 there yesterday. They'd all travelled together it seemed. Arrived about 11.30 and they were all outside a pub with a big Coventry Legion flag. All ages it seemed, between 20-60. Gave it a wide berth, didn't fancy that, so went to the Bridge Inn. They all ended up there anyway, but there was no bother at all that I saw.

The drugs thing annoys me. There were sniffer dogs on the the turnsyles, and one of the dogs headed straight for me. Had to empty all my pockets. Never touched that shite in my life. They said I'd probably come into contact with it at the pub, which is no surprise to be honest from what I saw.

Disgusting. Glad to hear someone pull him up on it but it’s pretty sickening.
