1. Which teams have the best managers in place?
2. Which teams have the biggest budgets?
3. Which teams have the best facilities?
4. Which teams can call on the most support?
5. Finally - which teams do you think will be in for a shout at promotion?

I fail to see the point of these questions/threads until we know what players are brought in over the summer.

The week before the first game of the season, is when we will have a good idea of our chances.

Similar team to last season + Mowbray = Who knows?

1. Us, Sheffield United, Scunthorpe, Swindon, Fleetwood, Bradford, you'd probably include the promoted teams in that
2. Wigan, Sheffield United, Millwall, Blackpool, Barnsley, possibly Doncaster, Peterborough,
3. By best facilities do you mean biggest ground? Or do you mean newest ground? Or do you mean grounds that's have a casino and exhibition hall but have nothing to do with the football club?
4. Based on last season's attendances Sheff United, Wigan, Millwall, Blackpool, Bradford, Barnsley, Us.
5. Sheffield United, Wigan, millwall, Peterborough, Doncaster, Barnsley, Swindon, then us trying to breach top 6.

As ccfc says too early to say at the minute, the bookies have us 11th at the minute, as we currently stand that is about right,

For me it has to be a cocktail of these factors, teams like Sheff Utd and Wigan have the edge (albeit Wigan could drop further)

Tbh, I couldn't remember whether they're still getting parachute payments or not. If they are then they will have one of the biggest turnovers in the league.

All I i know if we don't improve from the utter shambolic dross of last season. We will certainly be relegated.

Oyston has basically stopped putting money in. Hence why they did so poorly last year. They had 7 players with a week to go before the start of last season.

Blackpool don't have a pot to piss in.
By facilities I'm thinking strictly football. (best stadia?)
The idea of these questions are based on facts we know with no correlation to what team we might field apart from the last question which is an early judgement call.

Last season we lost to 5 teams who finished below us, had we won those games we would have been in the play-offs thats how tight this league is. i am certain we will have a better squad and be better all round than last season so i think we will atleast be knocking on the play-off door.

1. We have the most proven manager, though I like Cooper at Swindon and Adkins has a strong record at this level.

2. I think we will be top 6/7 - however you would think Wigan with parachute payments. I'd agree with another poster that Blackpool should be up there too, for the same reason. Millwall probably up there, sheff utd as well. Talk of investment going into Bradford so could be one to watch.

3. Hard to say but we must be up there, along with any club who have recently been in the PL or champ.

4. Bradford have sold loads of season tickets due to the slashed prices. I'd like to think with a bit of success we can be up there. Probably sheff utd though

5. I honestly think we will, and that's based on blind faith in Mowbray. Other than us, sheff Utd and Millwall. I fancy Wigan to struggle along with Blackpool. I'd expect Peterborough, Bradford and Swindon to be up there again

Not sure how anyone can assume anything yet ? We have what should be a decent manager but at the moment he hasn't got any players apart from a bunch of kids. Ask again on 15th July ?!

Oh please give it a rest for one day. We are indeed owned by people who dont put our club front and center but seriously what does all this SISU bashing actually achieve before a season where we have our best manager in place since we were a PL club?

Change the record please and I mean that in the politest possible way.

8 years of taking the piss out of fans, I'd say justifies posts like these.

Appointing TM, doesn't automatically mean anything.

They have been bad so as a result you think all topics can hijacked and turned into SISU out threads? I personally would rather talk about the thread rather than all the noise the sisu bashing causes and in turn ruins threads. Have a SISU are rubbish tread if you like but to read about sisu in nearly every thread from the same people i have to wonder why they bother and ifthey think its constructive to a fan base thats fed up as it is.

Read the title of the thread. Then read the comment you replied to. Very relevant.

As has been said by many, myself included, on this thread, let's see how we get on over the summer, and see how much TM is backed, before getting over excited.

Agree and until then I hope the SISU haters will hold their tongue and not try and depress our fan base more than we are already

I expect a better season but would be hugely surprised with any better than 12th place. Top 6 and I'll give TM a nosh, teeth out

it doesnt matter what league we are in, we seem to be a bottom half team

Imagine if we actually had some success

All it takes is someone to come in and grab the club by the scruff of the neck and say "We are a winning club"

If TM is that person, then I'm looking forward to the success.....

Apart from number 5 thrown in for a bit of added fun, the questions are very relevant. It has nothing to do with what players we yet bring in to the club. Either TM is one of the top managers or he is not? Whether we own our stadium or not it's all about our facilities compared to everyone else. probably the best stadium and very good training facilities too at Ryton compared to everyone else? Budget wise I think we still have one of the 'better' budgets in this league. Support? Well that semi final with Crewe...need we say more? Big city means major support is there if the touch paper is lit.

My own feeling is that TM will galvanise the team into a winning formula consistently, much as he did in the brief time he had at the end of last season. Just on manager reputation alone I think top 6 is certainly doable regardless of the fact he has not yet added to his squad.
I hope we keep the negativity supressed for once, forget SISU for now and accept we have a new season with a known entity in control and not some wannabe from lower leagues or Scotland, or even a scout in charge!
Get off to a good start and like someone has already alluded to - a few more wins last season against teams lower than us would have put us top 6, proving this league should be there for the taking.

Any team can win this league from day 1, its not like the premier league where a few names are pretty much nailed on at the start. Every team in the league will be going into the start of the season with promotion in mind. If you have a good team morale and spirit then that goes a long way in achieving this.

I hope we dont replace the whole team and try and just add to key areas, its a 2 year project but we might in the playoffs this year.

We are in our best position for years for this season. It now depends on who is brought in. For many years we have had poor overpaid players for the vast majority of the time. To go with this we have had managers that are not as good as we thought when they came to us, and this is after not being happy with most of them that has come to our club. The playing budget has not been left to the manager alone. We have been run by people that don't have much of a clue about football. And we have been treated as second class citizens by our club. But a lot has changed in the last few months.

We have a manager that changed a relegation bound club to one that could win games with only bringing in 1 player.

He has mainly a blank canvas as lots were out of contract.

He only signed on his terms. This gave him a big say in everything that happens to do with the playing side.

Our manager has good contacts in the game.

Our budget should be bigger than most in this division.

There are many good other reasons also. Like we have some good young players coming through. They will be used as back up and get experience before breaking into the 1st team hopefully.
