Oggy was the best goalkeeper in the world.
Best loan goalkeeper we had was Marton Fulop or Kasper Schmeichel.

He was chased off the pitch last game of the season. He was leaving and we were playing West Ham whom he supported and was conducting the away fans, was also arguing with fans at the front of the old kop. Ran for his life at the end of the leaving all his bag in the goal. We lost 2 1 i think and 1 of ghe goals was his fault.Think he well and truly fell out with us and was very critical of Cov when he left, didn’t help his popularity with out fans at the time but that doesn’t take away his ability while here. He played behind some poor defences too
My first game !......He saved one against Liverpool too not long after.Jim Blyth - carried off the pitch on supporters shoulders (IIRC) after letting in 4! Saved a last minute penalty when we beat Norwich 5-4 many a Boxing Day ago!
HH your memory is probably better than mine but i always remember JB's Scotland debut was a friendly against Wales when that happened ?Us old 'uns will mostly favour the greats that we remember, and yes, my all time choice would be the fantastic Bill Glazier. Jim Blyth was okay, but I remember watching an international between England and Scotland. Blyth was the Scots keeper. I was really proud to see a city player on TV in an international match, but cringed when a defender rolled, yes rolled a back pass to him (you could back then), and he let it slip through his hands in into the goal! (I might try to find this on YouTube!)

He signed for City for about a season, sometime in the 90's. (Shilton, that is, not Cloughie!)We have had a lot of good keepers over the years - Matthews (not that I ever saw him), Glazier, Blyth, Westwood, Kirkland, Bryan King, Sealey, Schmeichel, Oggy, Hedman - I think that its following on from these that makes the current keepers we have had look so poor. A good keeper is vital for a successful side - didn't Clough state that Shilton was worth 10 points a season?

Steven Bywater was class in his first stint on loan with us and I desperately wanted him to sign permanently at the time.Oggy was the best goalkeeper in the world.

Bill Glazier for me. Used to love watching him come out pre-game and smash the ball into the back of his own net, as if to say 'that's the last time today'.
