Taking Cole off for Fortune was probably the strangest substitute I've ever seen. Taking Cole off, fair enough, but to replace him with Fortune? If I had to draft up a list of players who can 'change' a a game he would be right at the bottom.

Lameiras must be seriously asking what more can he do? MOTM last week and wins a lot of free kicks because of his style of play which is what we needed at that time.

Totally disagree.

Oldham were closing us down high up the pitch at every opportunity and we RCC was having to play the ball long as a result. We were simply unable to play the ball out from the back. The long ball then kept coming back with Oldham in possession because we had no-one to win the aerial ball. That's why TM brought on Fortune.

With RCC kicking it long and our not playing the ball to feet on the ground, the game would have passed Lameiras by completely.

Frustrating today. Arma is clearly off form and you have to ask what he adds when he's not scoring. Fortune was the worst possible choice for that sub, Should've been Madders or Lameiras.

Cole is awful, just awful. Decent set pieces but the rest is far off the mark.

JOB dragged us along by the scruff of the neck at times. Kent the only one who looked threatening. Bigi was chasing shadows and undisciplined. Missed Flecks drive and vision massively. Though Turner going was probably the turning point. We look very weak past the first 11 at the moment.

Suddenly I understand the calls for a keeper and a striker.

Next game:

RCC
Phillips Ricketts Martin Stokes
Vincelot Fleck (if he's available)
JOB Madders Lameiras
Arma/Murphy

Very, very costly that.

I am convinced that had we scored that in the very first minute, then the crowd would have been a lot more vocal and supportive and the confidence would have flowed and we may well have won the match easily.

But we all know that Fortune doesn't even attempt to win the ball in the air most of the time. I can't recall him winning the ball in the air once. I doubt Lameiras would win the ball in the air either but he is at least a threat to the opposing defence.

I'm sure the Oldham defenders were more content with Fortune playing against them then Lameiras

I was screaming for Armstrong to pass. JOB would have had a tap in. Gutted.

I agree that I would like to see Lameiras, Maddison and O'Brien together again.

I would not pursue a longer deal for Kent. He can beat players no problem but I think he only has 1 goal and no assists so far in 14 games?

Is it unthinkable to drop Armstrong to the bench for Tudgay? I think Tudguy would do well against Port Vale personally.

So, based on what you saw from AA yesterday, throughout the 90mins, would you say he's either having an unfortunate dry spell or is he actually not looking that interested anymore?

Maybe there's too much pressure on the lad to score, but then again, he doesn't strike me as someone who has fragile confidence.

Article in sun newspaper yesterday and Jacob murphy said Armstrong is home sick and he's been helping him as it's the 5th loan he's had and knows what it's like. I guess he's still only 18 we sometimes forget that and first time away from home makes sense with how his forms dipped hope he picks up soon or else our chances of him wanting to extend look remote

My FIFA video called it. Next game I do, I'm putting money on whatever it predicts.

Sounds like the reporter was in the Legends lounge. That's what Jacob said in the pre-match interview.

We are starting to struggle to break teams down. Cole in the number 10 just doesn't work, he wants to join in the play too much. I want our number 10 to pick it up on the half turn and drive at centre backs, not receiving it on the half way line and playing it back to our centre backs, that's what the two infront of the back four can do.

Lamerias must be absolutely fuming, I've yet to see him have a bad game, he's got bags of skill. I'd much rather we develop our own player rather than Kent.

The way we fizzle out of games after 60 mins is very worrying, we looked dead on our feet after 50/60 minutes. Mowbrays substitutes are horrendous, why does he persist with Fortune? He brings us absolutely nothing.

11 of the 13 games Lameiras has started he has been substituted in and a number of them, substituted early on. And one game in particular he was taken off at half time. He was very poor in that match.

He's very good but lacks consistency.

Just because you get subbed it doesn't mean you've not had a good game. I've seen him play 4/5 times and every time he stood out. Very talented player.

He is. He does get subbed a lot though and I think it was Peterborough he was yanked off at half time. He was very, very poor that day.

I think there is a place for him, but not as a regular starter game in game out regardless.

We need to pick the games where we feel we can utilise him best. Some games he simply won't be suited. Grind out victories in particular.

He can definitely be a key cog though for us.

He has had a couple of stand out games but actually has been pretty poor in a lot of games he has started.

Also if Phillips is right back there is no way he can play right side midfield. His defensive covering is dire

The goalie made a error. Oldham scored from it.

There is little consistency in football. We play a different team every week. Often our own team is different every week. Away grounds are all different, have different atmosphere and different grass surfaces. Opposing teams employ different tactics. Lameiras is from Portugal, maybe he does not like English winter weather. How on earth can you expect anyone to play consistently? I'd probably expect consistency of effort but not consistency of performance. If any player was consistently good in every game, surely they would not be playing in L1.

I don't expect him to be consistent every game, course not. But consistency has to be better than one good game in say four surely?

If we have players that can maybe shine once in every 4 or 5 games then they are not consistent enough for what we require.

Murphy is inconsistent too, but he shows more than Lameiras and that's what I mean. Would like Murphy to show more consistency too, but we can't expect a performance every single game, because if he was capable of that he wouldn't be here.
