I agree. We have looked far more dangerous since O'Hare has been back he is a big loss and means we probably have to go back to the more defensive grinding out wins type of football we did just before he came back.

Our record with O'Hare this season is

P7 W4 D1 L2 W% 57% PPG 1.87

Without O'Hare

P17 W5 D5 L7 W% 29% PPG 1.00

It's not rocket science he is one of our best players and has a terrific understanding with Gyokeres. If you asked every manager in the league would they rather play us with O'Hare in or out the team every single one would prefer him out of our team.

No one is suggesting we are better without him, just that we can win without him. These stats would be a better breakdown I think:

I can see where you're coming from, but we'll probably just have to disagree on this one. He adds something none of our other players do for sure, but I think he's looked a bit off recently anyway.

As I said though, my biggest concern is that we have no other attacking players avaliable really and because of that we will probably miss him more this time. We can't really play two strikers as we haven't got anyone else, and with an attacking midfield of Allen and Palmer, Gyökeres is more or less going to have to do it entirely on his own.

Yeah agree with your second paragraph there. Although not his biggest fan I think Godden is quite important without Ohare because of how well he works off the ball. Without both of them we will struggle pressing wise

bad injuries happen it’s the fact we have such a poor depth of squad

The rest will be sold or released, leaving us with hopefully a lot of freed up wages and good fees for Hamer and Gyo. Christ knows what will happen with O’Hare and if his injury is as serious as feared the odds are we’ll never get close to what Burnley offered in the summer. He’s on big wages for us and we won’t be able to sell him on for the foreseeable.

It should in any case leave us able to rebuild the squad as we see fit.

if it is an ACL he will spend his summer at Ryton. Every cloud etc.

For a full blown joint effusion within a couple of hours of the incident (which is what it sounds like if the OP is correct) then we can rule out pretty much all other diff diagnoses - certainly muscular stuff which I was hoping for prev

Needs to be confirmed by the mechanism which I have looked for but haven't found a decent clip of

Why back of the knee? Thought acl would be the side of the knee?

Why ? We played well most of the game yesterday I think we were a penalty miss from at least a point against a promotion favourite. Of course we need some recruits and some of our injured back to strengthen reserves. We’ll be okay

I think we have a very good core group of players

it’s just not big enough. Which is why the likes of waghorn Walker etc are so annoying in terms of their contribution to the team

Kane

That list makes a huge hole in our limited wage budget. Those players are either constantly injured, or bombed out by the manager. You could potentially add to it as well, if you wanted to include those that aren't really good enough.

That's such a depressing list, especially when you consider that Dabo and Godden rarely play half a season.

Gyokeres and Hamer will go into next season with 1 year on their contract, so will almost certainly be sold.

It does leave pretty much a blank canvas for most of the squad and a lot of the wage budget freed up to help.

It does, but it means replacing not building on your best players. Central defense is also a worry, Rose out of contract at the end of the season, Panzo and Doyle going back to their clubs and as brilliant as he has been Fadz will turn 36 in 6 weeks time.

Which means a new set of 'stars' has to be developed that buy in to how we want to play and what expectations the manager has. You'd try to retain whoever is worth retaining of course, but that won't be many.

Gutted for O’Hare and the team. I’ve had two ACL ops this year and I’m hoping that because he grabbed the back of his leg rather than the front that it’s not ACL. Definitely looked to be holding the bottom of the hamstring behind his knee and replays didn’t suggest a serious knee twist although they weren’t conclusive either way and I’m no expert.

It might be hamstring again but as we know that can be a long job. He seemed to be holding the top of his calf.

Exactly. I don't think we have more injuries than other clubs, we just have less players, so it hits us harder.

If it is what we are all fearing it is I can’t recall many players who have bounced back from an ACL injury to the level that they were - Such a shame, same happened to JJ
