That's a bit misleading as under any government indirect tax will be worse for the lower end - you can't means test booze, fags fuel and VAT duties

Considering it was May and her team who spoke about it to the newspapers, seems to me like an attempt to see who was leading it for sure, and low and behold they have confirmed it is Shapps, with the support of a few people who are ex-ministers who have it out for May after she replaced them.
Maybe that will change of course in the coming days and you might be right, but at this moment in time don't think she will be too worried at the moment, only because he doesn't really have the backing in the party.
However, this really isn't helping press on with Brexit which is what everyone wants. 6 Months have already been wasted by the Government, would be stupid to waste another month for a change of leadership, and then a possible change of approach, so everything that has been said so far, will then change, giving us even less time to make a deal.
I agree with that, it's started, so that's what everyone involved should be concentrating on.

Exactly, even all of this Labour stuff pushing for another general election. Everyone is sick and tired of voting for the same stuff. Let the government get on with it, and argue it out in parliament not in the press.

You are right about the time wasting and lack of direction with Brexit. The Sun claims it is the drunkard Juncker and the Dandy Barnier who are holding up Brexit. It is quite clearly the collapsing Tory party who are at fault. May is being made to look ineffective by people like BoJo as a tactic for their own ambitions. A sorry state at this crucial time.

Why do they need to stall when we are taking our time to get our act together? We are meant to get on with it. We invented Brexit. Come on, tell the EU what it is. Tell the EU which things the U.K. Counts as commitments and ask the EU which things the EU insists are commitments and then hand over the list to arbitration. Next sort out EU citizens rights and put forward a workable solution to the Irish border problem.
