Yep-some of our lot were of the same opinion and just had to end up walking as it was 90 minutes minimum wait for the trams etc.
Hopefully they might have it sorted next time👍
That's good to know, thanks

So, after Friday night we (me and missus DT-R) went straight up to Snowdon for a few nights and just got back to the land of Internet. Wow, what a night, what a gig, what a day.
It's clear how much this tour, and the band actually mean to LG. He gets a lot of shit over his actions of the past and a lot of the time with good reason. But its clear he's been doing some form of voice training. His voice was top notch. Best I've heard him in a very long time. Good set list. Great firework finally. My one and only criticism was that any song with brass and/or strings in them, were played in by a backing track. For such a huge and public tour with so many eyes (and it really think, their lap of honour and final tour) they couldve got some musicians to tour with them and really made a spectacle of it. Other that that, it was great. Loved every minute. I do really feel though, that a possible few nights at Knebworth aside, this really is more about their final goodbyes and a lap of honour.
Also seen 2 cov fans in the wild. To the one in the red ribero shirt who i shouted PUSB to just as Richard Ashcroft came on, if you're on here, thanks for spilling half your cider down my missus back his mate followed him and apologised on his behalf.

The whole thing is about making as much money as possible after NG’s divorce. It’s inevitable that they’ll do a European tour in 2026, including playing again in the UK.

Of course its about making money. People seem so hung up on the whole "they're only doing it for the payday" line. What does EVERY musician do a tour for? For the fucking money. Everything is about money. Taylor Swift did that HUGE tour that seemed to last 6 years. The talk around that was how amazing it was she was doing so many dates and how strong and independent she was etc. She'd of made double what Oasis did as a solo artist. Not one single person has mentioned her touring and making so much money.
Did you wake up this morning and go to work out of the love for your boss and enjoyment of the day? Did you fuck, you did it for the money.
Like I said in my post, LG especially for me felt like it wasn't just the money. Yes, they've money is fucking great, but he genuinely is in it for his band. Hes taking this tour seriously. Whether his voice will go the distance we will see, but he's certainly been working on it so it wouldn't surprise me if it does last the tour.

I think it’s more the fact there wouldn’t be a tour if he wasn’t getting divorced.

That along with the whole dynamic ticket pricing debacle makes the whole thing abit of a money grab.

I mean, money aside, she couldn't stand Liam and is mostly the reason the brothers weren't talking so with her still in the picture there wouldn't be a tour.
I'm not saying money isn't a massive factor in the reunion, but it didnt feel like a money grab at the gig. They've put in a fair bit of work behind the scenes to make sure theyre sounding great. It's a good, long set with plenty of variety. Like I say, my only criticism is they couldve got a few strings and brass instruments involved and it wouldn't of taken too much out of their profit margin.

Don't get me started on Taylor Swift. Got to hand it to her she's got amazing PR because every move she makes goes unquestioned and passed off as some revolutionary 'changing the music business' idea.

Remember years ago when she first came over I was working in the industry at the time and went to a thing where Scott Borchetta, the guy who signed her, was speaking. He was talking about how they had a plan for her in Europe which involved her being over here at least once a year, pretty much unheard of for a country artist at that time, and the budget for that was well into 7 figures. But when she wanted to walk away she was happy to make out he'd done fuck all because he wouldn't hand over her entire catalog, that he had bankrolled, for free.

Then there was the whole re-recording thing. Was made out like nobody had ever done it before despite it being a very common thing for bands who don't own their rights, which is pretty much every band. Normally because they're a one hit wonder who over the lifetime of their career haven't recouped the label investment so don't get much in the way of royalties. Then to top it off when she finally buys the rights back, which was an option all along, that's also lauded as some genius move.

As well as getting people to pay to buy releases they've already got, and multiple versions of them, she's pumping out very expensive merchandise at an astonishing rate which given the demographic of her fanbase isn't really on.

If someone like Oasis did the same people would be going nuts but when she does it everyone is saying its amazing.

I'm glad I live in a world where this is the only way I find out what Taylor Swift is up to

I went Friday had a great night and even met some fellow sky blues fans. One shouted PUSB (I had my red Ribero shirt on) at me which was all ok til his mrs barged into me and spilt half a pint of cider. Never even bothered to buy me another.

Not in it for the money, only doing it for an expenses paid world tour? Aka, the money/benefits.

Some grassroots artists it will cost them money to tour i don't think you get the idea of it ? Not every touring musician is playing to 20k+ crowds every night .

Anyone else seen the whole debacle around the "Gallagher Hill" as its been named? I'm a bit confused as to the exact reason the council have decided to cut down trees and erect fences?! Talk about a A) Waste of time and B) Waste of tax payers money!
It's ridiculous. I could understand if there were 50k tickets left unsold whilst 40k people sat outside and watched for free. But its a fully sold tour. What harm exactly are these people doing? They've not stolen anything. They've not harmed the bands profits. Just a typical local authoritarian power trip.

Supposedly it’s to protect the local wildlife and stop loads of people showing up who would then have to be policed/pick up litter etc. Bit of a killjoy obviously but I get it.

Well last night was everything I hoped for and more, truly epic. The vibe around the whole place was great, everyone just there to have a good time. It's funny how before the tour started I was expecting the worst, then after the first few shows my expectations were sky high but they absolutely fucking nailed it.

Made a really good day of it. A couple we know who were going have a house about 25 min walk from Heaton Park so we all went round theirs for pre-drinks then walked up for about 6. Had a group of about 20 so was just a special night with a big group of mates, then back to the house for afters and wait for the traffic to die down.

Just a special day all round, will never forget it.

Saturday 19th July, one of the best days of my life. Always regretted not seeing them at the Ricoh in 2009. Their voices and performance’s were exceptional, it was like going back to the 90s.

From seeing LG and NGHFB separately and seeing how they worked the crowd, the only thing missing IMO was they didn’t really make any effort to engage with the crowd/thank the Mancunian crowd in any way. Other than LG saying a few lines and one dig about Coldplay cam, that was it. Oh and Noel ending the gig with up the blues and walking off.

You’d think they would have been buzzing their tits off to be back performing in Manchester but it felt like they knew the crowd was buzzing and full of people that rim them, so didn’t bother to fuel the fire much more.

Music, performance, set list. Outstanding. I just felt that was the only element I expected to see and it wasn’t there.

The Missus is currently away in the Peak District visiting her parents and gave me a ring all excitedly last night saying she had been sent a code for resale tickets but hadn’t seen the email and when she logged in they were all gone. 😭

She only tries again tonight and this time she’s only got us two tickets for Wembley tomorrow night 🕺🕺🕺

Manic few hours of getting the day off work, booking trains, booking a hotel, sorting a dog sitter, getting some supplies 👀 and I’m ready to fucking rock and roll!!!

Fuck all you losers who didn’t get tickets. 😂

It was worth every penny of the £838 for 2 tickets at Heaton Park last Sunday. I was slightly unsure whether the tickets from Viagogo would work but Plan B was to just go and join the rest of them on Gallagher Hill or whatever the nearest place was called.

Memories that I'll take to the end of my life (or at least until the old dementia kicks in).

Off to Wembley Saturday.. with daughter, wife and god daughter. Never felt less arsed about a gig the closer it’s got. Loads of mobile phones filming and loads of middle class middle aged white folk trying to look working class. Pffffffff. Then the wife knowing all this because I’ve been moaning has got us a couple of t-shirts to complete my miserable build up. IMG_0665.jpeg

Wembley is a shit venue for a gig compared to Heaton Park or Millennium Stadium.

Looking forward to Wembley next week, but it’s fuck all rock and roll compared to Heaton Park.
