So

I had a dream last night and we won 2-0 with Kelly scoring the 1st (cant remember the 2nd, although it was right at the end)

I'm feeling confident. They've potentially lost their best player and the onus is on them to come at us at home which suits our game perfectly. The pitch should be in a much better state than we had to deal with on Saturday and their fans seem complacent about "fortress Meadow Lane". We'll have a large vocal support behind the lads too. Hopefully Davies is available but we have Rod and Willis to come in so still plenty of options there and could bring Reid or JCH in to run the ball at their defence which they really didn't like.

2-0 City. McNulty & Bayliss.

Let's hope so. If he is then it removes a very physical threat that we'd struggle to deal with.

I'm never normally nervous for CCFC games but Saturday was different. I was fine until about 5 minutes in, then I was bricking it all game. Now I feel nervous 4 days out, God knows what it'll feel like 30 mins prior to kick-off. I did sense the nervous vibe in the pub before the game on Saturday, too. This one really could go either way, and there's so much riding on it.

If we take the lead, we'll see it through, if not we'll probably lose. As per our regular season record.

Willis in for Hyam and JCH in for Biamou.

We will hopefully take the lead then time waste, every time Burge catches the ball he should fall forward onto the ground (or not, as he will probably drop it)

I think every time he catches the ball he nearly faints anyway.

If you are going to have a dream, at least make it 6 or 7 nil.

2-0 if it was a quick nap.

We seem to suffer under the weight of expectation at home whereas with the onus on Notts County and I can only assume an away support that won't boo a sideways pass, I've got a bit more confidence with the second leg being away. I couldn't watch the penalty on Saturday though so I don't know if I've got the nerve to sit and watch this.

I felt we were far superior on Saturday, and but for the appalling conditions might have had a couple more goals. So I'm feeling good about Fri, although this time the nerves are there, cos this really is crunch time!

Is Friday a 7.45 KO? If so, why different from Saturday night's?

The reason I ask: It looks like I've got a ticket for this now, and was hoping to get the train so that I could have a couple of pints before the game. The last train I can get back is 2146 so potentially do-able on a 1930 KO but too tight on a 1945.

Does it go to extra time if still level after 90?

Yep. Extra time and then pens.

Might be worth asking if anyone is driving your way back, on here.

I will drive myself most probably, thinking about the potential for extra time I probably should.

I'll just get a few cans from the offy for the drive home if we win.

If the conditions and pitch are better than Saturday, which surely they will be, I’d back us to win.

We were the better team on Saturday in spite of the conditions, we’ll be even more impressive if they are improved for Saturday.

As has been the same all season, when we actually play football and move the ball around we look good. That combined with direct running at their defence made County look uneasy and nervous.

Same again, plus the addition of Reid at some point second half should mean we are too strong.

However, I’ll still be ridiculously nervous on Friday!

Richard Duffy hails 'fantastic' Notts County striker Jonathan Forte

Forte Should be fit, apparently just cramp.

Now Davies has been banned. Isnt there a case to play :

Willis at right back ( I know its not his best position ) but defensively we are going to need to 4 good players in the air remembering how easily Grimmer lost Forte in the air at their place.

Really not been impressed by Grimmer defensively. I think its horses for courses and he nee sto drop out.

Willis, Hyam, Mcdonald, Stokes
Bayliss. Kelly, Doyle, Shipley
Biamou , McNulty

Ameobi is a 36 year old has been - if a defence can’t contain him (most have all season) we shouldn’t be promoted.

Not banned yet. Only charged.

Looking like it will be a ban, but he has until tomorrow to appeal.

We might as well. Think it only increases to a 4 match ban doesn't it if unsuccessful!

McDonald has had a few dodgy games recently.

Bear in mind he was brilliant first few months also I remember him playing very well at High Wycombe just a couple of months ago containing the beast.

Id still rather drop Grimmer. and play Willis, Rod, Hyam and Stokes.

We have to change anything else just makes the defence so much weaker.

Which is worrying as he’s scored one goal in 19 games

That’s my point.

Willis is an inferior player to Davies when faced with long ball tactics. No point even discussing McDonald.

It will be Willis and not McDonald without any doubt.

Only way McDonald will get picked is if Willis isn't fit.

Then basically you are saying our centre halves are the worst in the league as they can’t deal with forwards every other club can?

Seeing as I got my 1-1 in the first leg right I’m sticking with my previously predicted 3-2 Cov in this one.
McNulty x2 & Biamou

I like the idea of 2 McNulty's. Double the potency.
