I guess so, people can't say if they would go there until we were.

I think if it came out it was 100% that CCFC would stay in Northampton for good then I don't know. It would certainly put me off going a lot more but deep down it would still be the same club, unless it was completely wiped out and started again like MK Dons.

The reason I started another thread was because this one was supposed to be on NOPM!... I personally haven't seen any posts on the subject I raised but if you want to censor it that's up to you.

I dont see a stadium being built?
I dont see any confirmed site bought and being prepped for construction
I dont see CCC given planning permission for a stadium INSIDE the city of Coventry
I dont see my team playing at a 32,000 seater stadium that already exists for £150,000

I see my team playing 34 miles away at a 7,000 seater stadium for £170,000

what do you not see here?

If the club stayed in Northampton for good, in what way would it be different to Wimbledon moving to MK Dons. The MK Dons weren't a new club, you don't seem to make any logical sense.

I see that a club that relocates on a permanent basis to a town barely able to sustain its own football club has no future, no fanbase and no untapped market to exploit. It is guff of the highest order to suggest there is even the remotest possibility of CCFC being a viable entity long term in Northampton.

I have not ruled out the possibility of attending the odd game at Sixfields. However, if it became apparent that the club might take up permanent residence there I would not go near the place - not a chance, and I would throw my weight behind any phoenix club that emerged.

What we are seeing now is brinkmanship, grandstanding and petulance. I maintain, we will be back at the Ricoh soon enough.

I really don't understand the concept of just causally popping over to Sixfields for the odd game...after all thats gone on it would be a massive decision.
I too think it likely we will return to the Ricoh, but only if Sisu sell, and when that happens who knows.

Nick respectfully this is a forum and in such trying times I'm not sure what else you expect from people? I agree if those that want to go to six field want to go, then of course they have that right. Similarly I won't nor should i be denied the opportunity (or others) in trying to convince them they should reconsider that decision though?

As for " hurting" SISU?
Little seems to, not sure what else we the mere mortals who have supported the club can do ? They won't listen to reasoned debate for if they did they would not be 35 miles away at six field - there is no business logic whatsoever to this decision. Someone convince to the contrary I'm listening?

Returning the sky blues to Coventry is the only acceptable conclusion to this sorry affair.


I long to argue the merits of 3-5-1 with sky blue Taylor again. Or who is the better centre half..etc.

And you base the reasoning the losses are covered on TF's word! This might be a revetation to some, but once or twice Mr Fisher has said things that haven't quite been true! Also has he based these losses on an assumption of 3k/game average? If so, will they be willing able to fund the additional losses of over 1,000 less gates? That works to roughly 1million over 3 years. That is of course assuming average is 2,000.

The MK Dons were the club that moved from Wimbledon,they were not a new club, they just changed their name. In the same way as the LA Rams moved from LA to St.Louis, to become the St Louis Rams, same team same players, playing under a new name. Go to the Anaheim area know and you will struggle to find anybody supporting their old team playing in another City. If in 5 long years time the club is still playing in Northampton, how many people in this City will actually feel that the football club truly represents this City anymore.
They have only been gone for 1 game, and already a disconnect is beginning to form, the longer this goes on, the divide will only get bigger and bigger.
