Im not sticking up for Dr Claire but clearly a very clever person with an impressive CV, but is allowed to be criticised in her role.

Her appointment allways makes me think of Money ball and trying to win games with stats and player insights.
but player stats and insights fall under Dean Austin's remit

Why are people so desperate for no criticism to be levelled at her? Not by any means saying if she wasn't here we'd be flying and in the play off places but I don't see why its viewed as unacceptable to ask questions of her role because she's a woman.

We've been told part of her role is implementing a new coaching structure. That structure has been heavily criticised both in terms of the structure and the personal recruited. What makes her above reproach when she was involved in changes many see as an abject failure.

Similarly we've been told she's involved in player recruitment to ensure we bring in the 'right' type of player. There's been a lot of criticism of the recruitment, and all sorts of anger directed at the recruitment team for wasting millions but again we can't question her role in it? One thing that has been specifically criticised with some of our signings is their attitude, that's specifically a thing this role is supposed to have improved.

Not saying she's to blame or bad at her job but it baffles me that for some reason people are getting upset that questions are being asked.

It feels like high level micro managing. Hard for any established coach to work under.

She worked for the premier league as Coach development and Elite development.

She's over seeing on field activity inc coaching what would include sport science and phycology

Hence why we have been seeing more player development of off field activities like cooking and coaching
She not overseeing on field activity

the only thing that confuses me is we actually lack a SD/DOF which is important in these types of structure
Agreed . If that person had been in place "maybe" some of the pressure could've been taken off Robins given things that have happened in his private life

Some of the criticism of her is clearly gendered though. The appointment of a former Premier League executive to oversee sports science at the club should hardly be considered a controversial appointment, but people are still questioning her credentials. There’s an inherent mistrust and doubt about her role not only because it’s coincided with a dip in form, but also because she’s a woman working in a business that almost always hires men. I’m not saying that’s the world’s greatest injustice, nor am I saying she should be immune from criticism over the things she controls, but I don’t thing you can totally ignore that aspect either.

She’s not just overseeing sports science. There’s a mistrust of her role because she’s achieved nothing and seems to be pushing our most successful manager out of his role.

I’m questioning her credentials. Along with the fitness coach Rhys Carr and Boateng. I’m questioning the results of all of them because I’ve not seen anything to suggest they’re an improvement.

But they aren’t put forward (well Carr is now) as part of the leadership team towards fans. They aren’t mentioned as being involved in hiring and firing. There are legitimate questions specifically about the Performance Director role before you even get to the fact that the psychology and fitness of the players seems to have dropped off a cliff since her arrival.

If people were making shit Joy style handbag and blowjob jokes I’d get it, but all I see is whenever someone questions a major change in the backroom order they’re called a sexist.

Probably just because he's the most experienced player in the squad. Although it should've been Sheaf really.

I agree. If that happens to the manager under your watch, then you should put yourself forward at a time like this and lead by example.

It just about says everything unfortunately.

There are a few that seem a bit intent on white knighting and dare I say it, virtue signalling.

It obviously isn't the Performance Director's fault that we are where we are or that Robins directly got his P45, but if you bring someone in on what is probably a decent salary to help improve the player performances, and the performances start becoming a circus, then you would rightly expect some questions to come in their direction. Exactly the same way that if you bring in expensive player, and they don't look like they're living up to their price tag/wage.

Fucks sake just made the mistake of seeing the clubs twitter feed and now I’m raging again. Fuck Rhys Carr firstly. But mainly putting Bidwell out to do the press. WTF? Have none of the actual players who are likely to play got the bollocks?

What is going on at that place. Absolute shambles.

Isn’t it usually pretty random who they send out? Bidwell is also one of the most senior players at the club.

I guess we should expect a less experienced new manger. Not from the old guard of manger and assistant.
it's the role most clubs go for so if they want to work they need to take the role offered

You never hear anything from the blue tracksuit brigade either (there's enough of them) perhaps happy to hide away stealing a living.

I can't possibly think why they'd put the most experienced squad member who is established at the club and generally well liked and respected by the fans out to do the first press conference post MR. 🤔

Because everyone else is a pussy?

Im sure he’s been put out as apparently the closest thing we’ve got to a leader. Funny the actual leader hasn’t shown his face though?

Nah fuck him. I don’t want him here and he’s slimed his way into a position he’s not fit for. Him and the rest of the crew should be walking as far as I’m concerned. They’re as much to blame as anyone.

Did you want all 20+ of them to turn up?

Honestly mate, log off, calm down, have a cup of tea or something. You are absolutely rabid at the moment.
