In what way?Very interesting show particularly the inside insights of KC who confirmed that our slump in form was mainly due to the sale of JM,
Taking up a loan slot that TM had a decent striker lined up for, which would have brought the goals that had dried up.In what way?
Lowering of moral? Players? Manager?
Should have let jm go! I thought it was match day limits of numbers so he could leave players out?KC said we had a very good striker lined up for a loan position but selling JM and then taking him back on loan meant that we couldn't get the striker in on loan. KC wouldn't say who the striker was but did say that he would have got plenty of goals for us once AA stopped scoring.
Who was it?I wonder if this was the striker I heard about, but more as a replacement for Arma if/as he was going back according to my link?
Oh they wouldn't say, but that we would be happy if they got him.Who was it?
Hopefully we still can this season if needed!Oh they wouldn't say, but that we would be happy if they got him.
That's a good thing though about the transfer policy.I'd add the the Hunt situation was more the players fault, he wasn't honest with himself or the club. He'd play 80 mins in the u21s and say he felt great, whereas Cole after the first couple of games said he was struggling and asked for the mini ore season work to get his fitness up.
Also re: transfer policy mowbray had gone with what he'd known and went for names, Jones has been a real eye opener, he didn't think you could sign players from league two or below that were good enough to take you to the next level. So he is changing his transfer policy

Two thoughts:-
1. Why did we take up the option to loan JM after selling him, if the other loan striker was seen as more important? Was it to placate the rebellion among the fans for selling "one of our own"?
2. The slump started way before JM was sold. Was it the subject of a poorly-guarded secret in the dressing room?
Summary of what Crowley said:
- George Thomas needs more confidence in himself. Has all the talent - Joe Cole called him the most talented player at the club - but needs to believe in himself more and be selfish at times.
- Bury are going to have a fire sale this summer. Would have Leon Clarke back in an instant even though he's an interesting character, to say the least.
- The transfer plan is going to look at signing more players like Jodi Jones who are going up the leagues, rather than guys like Henderson/Ramage/Hunt who are going down the leagues.
- Ricketts will be a backup centre-back next year. Is being kept on for his off-field stuff, he's like a "defenders coach" and runs training sessions sometimes. An unofficial 'player-coach'. Tudgay is the same, but with the strikers.
- Lorentzson is one of the worst players he's ever seen at City. McGoldrick the best.
- Aaron Martin just isn't strong enough for Mowbray. Gets pushed off the ball too much for a CB.
- Steven Hunt was handled poorly, should've had an intense mini pre-season with the physios - a la Joe Cole - instead of just coming into normal training.
- Maddison transfer was the turning point. Cost us the chance to get a striker on loan. Club needed to take the money from Norwich.
- Maddison was badly affected by all the negative comments on social media from Coventry fans. Forced him to tears. Even was sent two death threats that the club had to report to police.
- JM10 is not some arrogant, cocky little twat at all, like he is made out to be by some. Is just a 19-year-old who struggled after going from local hero to hated for no reason overnight.
- Mowbray has been targeting players to sign for a month now.
- Says that this season was a learning curve for Mowbray, watching teams like Walsall and Burton thrive while Sheff UTD - with all their former higher league players - struggled.
I'm sure I've missed some out but that's the gist of it. The Maddison stuff was really eye-opening.
He could. You could have as many loans as you wanted, but only five could appear in any match day squad. But wasn't the loan limit the matchday squad or is there another limit of loans full stop? Surely he could have just not put loans like JM or bigi in the squad
Thanks for the excellent summary.
Re Maddison, I do feel sorry for him and the abuse he received, he doesn't deserve it, but sadly he and his advisers must have known that in todays times there are always going to be some keyboard warriors who were going to give it, and he should have been prepped for it, as tough as it is and as much as it hurts.
Like Callum Wilson, I hope he goes on and does well.

Something to do with wages too perhaps? I thought though that once Norwich signed him and loaned him back it would have been them paying for him to play here.
He meant during the 5 years he's worked at the club.If he thinks Lorentzon was one of the worse players he has seen he hasn't been watching long I have seen far worse players than him.
Shame that Maddison had death threats it is only a game of football.
He was talking about the worst 11, I'm sure malaga would be in there with him. What I don't get about the Lorentzon stuff, he came to us on trial didn't he? If he was that bad a player, why did we sign him?
I don't think he was that bad when he played, unless he was just one of those players who are lucky so they look better than they are.
Was he off the day Malaga was here?

He did say "one of the worst", not " is the worst"

The thing with the abuse, he didn't help himself with all the lion and sheep stuffed aimed at the fans.
Should he be abused for leaving? Of course he shouldn't. Should he be boo'd? Again no, but I don't think he did. As for the death threats, that is pathetic and I hope whoever did that gets a slap!
If he goes on social media and has digs like that, he has to expect that it will upset the fans surely? Not to the extreme of death threats, but digs back at him?
