So what is the point in quoting him then?
If you don't believe him, none of us believed him, the council didn't believe him then why would they have to act against the football club on something nobody believed.

No, only you seem to be going round in circles in this thread?

It's fairly simple, if any side has bullshitted in all of this then they should be called out for it regardless of who it is.

The local tax payer will be in a worse position if tens of thousands of people visiting the city and bringing revenue each year no longer need to because there is no football club there.

The shocking hit to Swansea's economy when it stops being a Premier League city

Football clubs are great for the economy.

The Council has met already with the Sky Blue Trust – but not the Football Club. A former Labour colleague of George Duggins is John Fletcher, who was Labour Council leader from 1996 to 1999 and is on the board of the Sky Blue Trust. Is Mr Fletcher willing to use his position and many contacts in the Council to help arrange a meeting between his former colleagues and the Football Club to help it remain at the Ricoh Arena?

John Fletcher hasnt been on the trust board for a long time

Don’t think that makes much of a difference to the question being asked of him.

BTW is the Andy Fletcher that attends board meetings any relation of his do we know? I’ve always assumed not but worth asking the question.

That is not going to solve the problem of returning the club to stability. Everyone is surely fed up of these games with the future or even existance of the club now. All the parties need to make a lasting peace and agree a sensible deal.

Which is why it's so frustrating when someone who isn't sisu gets told to do a deal people just deflect to sisu.

No but I doubt the games would get as far if they were all called out from the start rather than siding with certain ones to try and get at others.

Wasps know how SISU operate as do we all. They're built on litigation and court cases and put that statement out knowing SISU wouldn't and won't drop the legals so that people say as you have and make them appear to have no fault in this.

You have to question therefore what their agenda is? I assume they're frightened of losing the court case and if they do, then it proves despite all of SISU's failings to our club, that in this instance, legally they were right all along. Wasps received help from the Council to spite them and an out of town franchise given preferential treatment and a superb facility at an under-valued price at the expense of the Coventry tax payer. We paid more in rental income in the preceding years than their bill to own and generate profit from.

Quite where this leaves CCFC of course is anyone's guess as SISU couldn't care less about us either and we're merely a pawn in their game. Pleased with regards the statement that the council are being held to task over things too.

There isn’t many things that I dislike more than people who side with wasps over Coventry city football club just because they hate sisu , they should be put on the same register as nonces .... cunts

Id love to win the euromillions , I’d buy wasps out and liquidate them cunts too.

Pull down that awful badge off the Ricoh arena and set fire to it in eastwoods face

Whole thing has started to inject pure hatred into my veins , fuck them all

It's why they just repeat the same lines over and over "It woz SISU". Yeah we know SISU are cunts and they should get everything they deserve too but it doesn't mean others can act like it and get away with it but just hide behind the SISU line everytime.

Thing is, the council have said that it must be a condition of sale that we must be able to play our games. A public body has to be careful with statements like that.

This is the key thing. The argument that Fisher bullshits is irrelevant unless you think the standard a public body should be held to is the same as a Caymen hedge fund.

Now we all know they said it, that can’t be walked back. The question becomes what did they do to ensure it happened.

It’s all well and good people now saying there’s no way such a condition can be present but that being the case it should have been explained at the time.

Very silly on the part of the council. By this point they were well aware what SISU were like and should have been careful what they were saying. I suspect the issue was they were concern the sale would be objected to if people feared for the football clubs future.

I think it's quite obvious from things that have been said in this thread alone that neither one of those prospects are likely.

SISU will not leave, they will continue with their legal right to appeal until the point they can't. As it has been said CCFC is a pawn and like all pawns the Club is expendable in their pursuit of the CCC, Wasps and the Ricoh.

In a matter more pressing with time Wasps should come to the table and negotiate a deal with CCFC, talk is cheap about wanting to do a deal with CCFC either long/short term, time for action when it counts most.

It is along the same lines as everybody using the "Well Wasps said....." line as if everything they say is suddenly the truth as well.

It kind of would if the impact on the economy of a local shop is deemed more than the loss of a football club.

THIS!

the council have acted in a terrible way. no regard at all for the club.. And what little regard they , at the time, appeared to show - by saying the club's home would be safe for them as part of the deal - they are now saying they never said ( or at least it was only for four years )

Are SISU bad news , and contributing to this saga, we all want them gone as soon as possible - YES
Are the council telling also to blame here and need calling out for their terrible behaviour, which has contributed to where we are today - YES

Its not one OR the other... its both!!!

I’m not trying to defend the council at all, they have their part to blame in this situation. But over 95% of coventry’s Council tax payers do not attend the Ricoh regularly. Could you imagine the uproar that would happen if the council had to make further cuts in public spending, or announced more job cuts while at the same time funding an empty stadium?

The tax payers had already been told by the Council Leader it wasn't making a loss without CCFC.

Of course, the football team doesn't just affect those who attend. There's a positive link to identity and wellbeing within a community, as well.

Of course, there is no exceptions. They should all be called out.

There's probably 1 mentalist who doesn't think SISU should be called out, however strangely there's a few who seem to think the Council / Wasps shouldn't be called out at all for their bullshit.

The loss of what football club?
When the announcement was made to sell the Ricoh to wasps, the club was going to have a new ground within the city!
So no loss of revenue, no impact to the local economy, just an empty Ricoh.

You can’t use hindsite, to slate the decision to sell.

Has anyone considered hitting the council with their jobs and livelihood? We could crowd-fund ahead of the next elections, put an independent up against each and every one of them with the sole purpose of supporting CCFC, imposing ridiculous fees and rejecting everything motioned by Wasps and securing a long term future for CCFC. I'm sure there are enough City fans in every ward that with a passionate campaign could fill every seat and make a complete mockery of council office.

I don't get your point. Nobody beieves what he says. I expect to believe what elected representatives say and if they lie then they should be held to account.

The effort to deflect from them is incomprehensible.

In fact as Wasps are effectively blackmailing the club, we should at least point out our intentions to them before they think they'll get an easy ride.

Unfortunately, believing it or not dosnt matter, sisu will be shafted in court by their own previous statements. THAT will be the legal argument, mine or your opinion on who was telling porkies won’t matter a jot.
The council will say, they made a business decision based on the public statements made by sisu. End of court case.

That statement is insane. I like it a lot.

We all know SISU are cunts but I'm so sick of the council and wasps getting away with everything.

I cannot get my head around people that defend wasps so much. Whilst they aren't to blame the most, if your wife cheated on you, would you go and have some beers with the bloke that shagged her? The council are definitely well up to their necks in this, but then again, people refuse to blame them because they're against sisu...

Strange, a couple of weeks before the Wasps sale went through the Council were saying they want to build up Trust and hinted at a deal?

If telling porkies won't matter, how will they stand up in court?

It's not just having beers with the man who shagged her, it's having beers with the other bloke shagged her and his mate who tagged teamed her in the hope they will beat up the other bloke who shagged her but didn't cuddle her enough.
