The club may have retained an option on Northampton. It doesn't mean anything.

The circumstances behind the last move there and those today are completely different, it's even less viable now.

All politics and side picking aside, it'd be fucking suicide to do something like move us out of Coventry during what looks to be our most successful season in my lifetime.

We are in a much better negotiating position and will have more fans onside if we are a Championship club, or even after a decent season.

I just hope the hatred for Wasps among some doesn't encourage Sisu to think they'll have more fan backing this time around. Promotion is worth so so much more, I'd hate to see the season derailed like Robins' was.

Look at the pictures used by the Telegraph in the "Your Response" article. Full house for the Wasps game but a picture from an end of season game with against Orient over 2 years ago for us with tons of empty seats...

Why don't we know? Surely if someone told me that 50p of every pint went to CCFC I might drink more.
Mind you I only drink in the casino for the football so I guess Wasps get it all.

Doesn't really say anything in the article does it? It's just trying to make wasps look like hero's with a but aimed at ccfc trying to start talk of sixfields.

No it is not making them sound like hero's:
They obviously would want us to stay.
Being tennants is not the best option for us.
Northampton we have as an option, but we know it isn't really.
We need a new stadium of our own but are not going to get it.

We all know this Nick, so it isn't really news, however the CET have to report it. It's a nothing story, that's not their fault though is it?

It is a point though. Just like wasps first game in which the CT compared it to our poorly attended home fixture as opposed to the Gillingham match.

Not accusing you of anything but there's a lot of coincidences.

If the football club had experienced a similar drop in attendance that wasps did in its opening game of the season I would wager that there would be a lot of analysing it with a negative slant.

Wasps excuse there is a World Cup on would have been followed with some quip that "a certain club up the road still attracted 20,000"

There is no question all media outlets are reporting positively. It's just one glorified press release after another. Nothing is challenged and debate is never allowed. This isn't just you - it applies to CWR as well - even more so in some respects.

Usually I agree, but and this could be a small thing...have the crowds started to drop for wasps...are they concerned the initial oomph has gone they are down to regulars and a few locals which if they start losing and with winter again lose a few more could give City more leverage?

I certainly hope you're right when you say these things are coincidental but it does highlight an issue. Maybe something that needs to be brought to the attention of whoever is in charge of these things?

As the saying goes perception is reality. Those that don't attend will get the impression from that sort of picture that Wasps is sold out every week and nobody is turning up to see us.

Maybe before hitting the publish button there needs to be a few seconds spent thinking about what impression any article, picture etc could give.

Was the same on twitter during this weeks match. If you'd looked at the pictures of the crowd on the Telegraph feed you'd assume there was nobody there. Again it may not be deliberate but it wouldn't be hard to get a picture that makes it look at least vaguely busy if a bit of thought is put in.

Out of interest did you approach Wasps for the interview that led to these articles or did they approach you?

To try and give some more constructive criticism than the Telegraph is shit I think the frustration felt by some is that Wasps can say what they like and it doesn't appear to get challenged whereas when Fisher opens his trap FOI requests are flying in and independent experts being called up.

For example when Wasps published their prospectus they didn't seem to be challenged on the value of the Ricoh lease compared to what they paid for ACL and the 200 year extension. Similarly with the training ground plan, one year on and they've moved to it being in the C&W area with no actual site or any sign of progress at all and its not being built until the self proclaimed richest club in Europe get someone else to pay for it. Seems that Wasps don't get pushed for answers where the football club does.

At the end of the day, just because the CT doesn't have the same *ahem* bee in their bonnet about Wasps that you do, and you know probably wants to stay on good terms with one of the biggest sports teams in the city, doesn't mean it's bias.

If all you've got is a hammer (hatred of Wasps), everything looks like a nail (pro-Wasps conspiracy).

Sometimes it's just a news story.

I would hope that all media outlets are pushing both CCFC and Wasps to get a deal done that is best for the fans of CCFC.

If we do get an impasse (which sadly I feel may be likely) then we need as fans to see the deal that is on offer... after all the devil is all in the detail.

I think this is a pertinent point that should be challenged by CWR and the CET.

Why are the the club with the highest revenue in rugby in Europe asking for a sponsor to pay for a training ground?

EDIT: Not that I wouldn't think that was a smart move if CCFC managed to pull it off...

Probably had enough with the answers they got trying to pursue the Cities biggest football club and their New Ground fiasco...
After all we should be playing in it next season?
So really nothing new is it? exactly what Sisu proposed doing.

It's not exactly what SISU are proposing at all is it? SISU didn't come out and say they were had the highest revenue of all clubs in 3rd tier football in Europe.
They didn't buy a stadium and now it's worth over double their investment in just over a year.

We want a decent deal for CCFC... Wasps appear to be flush with money all over the place from their financials, but can't/won't pay for a training facility?

If CCFC get given a shitty rental deal, it won't be becuase Wasps desperately need the cash will it?

That's my point. But anyway good diversion tactic.... you should look at some kind of comission incentive.

Well its true isn't it, the telegraph go out of there way to put a negative tint on most things CCFC whilst singing the praises of Wasps from the rooftop. Bit embarrassing really, isn't it? You'd have thought the telegraph might have a bit more backbone on teams getting up and leaving there community after starting the bringcityhome campaign and first hand seeing all the shit ccfc went through at Northampton.
