Wrong summer to sell Sheaf too. Ideally he would have gone last year but he’s tanked his value by being injured or shit for 12 months. We weren’t going to go two seasons without selling someone and with Haji injured and no one biting on Sheaf where else was money going to come from?
The same site values Josh Eccles at 7 million
So they sometimes go too low?
Djed Spence is one - about £20m I think. He did help a team achieve promotion so that probably upped his feeWell yes exactly. Only one i can see who went for anything near £15m, who didn't have premier league experience is Matt Cash.
Thats why I said that 8 figures was extremely unlikely, and £6m or so was much more believable.
If it’s true I can’t see how the fee is woeful
We place ridiculous assumed values on our players
The little I have seen of KKH he has pace and he actually looks to try and beat the opposition full back and whip a cross in and obviously he took his goal well. I always thought Milan wasn't actually great at defending but his pace usually made him look better than he was but he seemed a great character and popular with the other players so if he does go good luck to him but it seems a little strange if we only make a small profit on him!And this is the model, and sometimes we'll get it wrong.
Though I'm confident KKH will be a good signing but we'll see.
All the press is saying is that 'the player' has reached an agreement i.e his agent.. means fuck all until Doug and Frank agree it.
Im told its done but the fee is woeful
6.5 million up front, 15% sell on
Terrible business let's be honest
that's not how it works anymore. The club will negotiate the contract terms with the players representatives. Then it is down to the clubs to agree a feeYes that does seem a bit odd, surely the Club's agree the fee first.
In Gimoc we trustHang on tho, If @GIMOC was right on the fee does that mean Doyle coming in
In Gimoc we trust
This is who you trust?team flying out at the weekend for portugal
dolan might be joining them. nothing confirmed yet but they hope he will be with them over there
It was slightly tongue in cheekThis is who you trust?
Exactly, he looks about the best option realistically available. He's young and has had an excellent season at our level already. Plenty of room for him to improveHe's a replacement.
I'm quite surprised so many are happy with the fee when in today's market this really is nothing and he's a stand out player in one of the best leagues outside of Europe's big 5. Middlesbrough got £20 million for fecking Latte LathShows how overinflated some fans views are of what players are worth.

unless your james tavernierright backs don’t win you titles but strikers do.
Not allowing for inflation, over a dozen in the past 10 yearsHow many full backs go for more?
different position though. Full backs don't go for as much as strikers, it's as simple as thatI'm quite surprised so many are happy with the fee when in today's market this really is nothing and he's a stand out player in one of the best leagues outside of Europe's big 5. Oh I agree, but this is the age of absurd transfer fees irrespective of position, particularly when English clubs are involved. I'm just quite surprised it isn't a bit higher.different position though. Full backs don't go for as much as strikers, it's as simple as that
I imagine we will have a decent sell on clause as wellOh I agree, but this is the age of absurd transfer fees irrespective of position, particularly when English clubs are involved. I'm just quite surprised it isn't a bit higher.
Even so, should be a bit higher.I imagine we will have a decent sell on clause as well
I would have thought 8 million would be about right, would be disappointed if it's lessEven so, should be a bit higher.
I'd take that with a generous sell onI would have thought 8 million would be about right, would be disappointed if it's less
How many championship full backs go for over this?
All we've had is hearsay so far. Even those who have mentioned or have been told an amount might not have been given the right information. But yes expected at least 8m myselfI'm quite surprised so many are happy with the fee when in today's market this really is nothing and he's a stand out player in one of the best leagues outside of Europe's big 5. The flip side with KKH's fee is that Villa probably compromised on it to get the money in time for FFP purposes.KKH has played a similar number of Championship games and attracts the 'english premium' and was £3.5m. In that context £6m+ looks good, albeit MVE had played in the dutch top flight as well.

Hopefully it's a few mill higher than the number being banded around.I guess we’re probably compromising on this fee somewhat, to get the players in the positions Frank wants before the season starts.
