Depends on how the Jan window goes. If the squad is still thin, sod the FA Cup off.Look if we could somehow guarantee as ridiculously easy a run as we got in Robins’ last year then you’d be crazy not to take it again.
This is the waWin the cup and we can play our first PL season in 25 years with European nights that were denied in the 80s
The return of 78?As its a year we don't really care - I predict Liverpool away!
Common sense really isn't it.Tbh I’m usually a big advocate for a cup run - But not interested this year, just have to get ourselves promoted as top priority and the less games we have to play the better
To be fair to José... he took ALL cup comps seriously, and his record showed that.FA Cup as a thing is all but defunct now anyway. Ruined by the likes of Mourinho and Wenger and the glut of money available in The Champions League.

The scheduling has probably been worse than the above.

Fans can't act holier than thou when they then talk about wanting to go out etc
It all effects the magic of the cup

It's the same the EFL Cup too, fans are voting with their feet and treating these games as second class because in truth, they are. If they scrapped the EFL Cup next season, fans won't shed a tear. Winning the FA Cup in 23/24 would've been legendary and better than winning promotion that season, this season however, we have a real chance of automatic promotion and to set the club up for next 5-10 years, you can't pass up on that.Spot on

If the powers that be cared about the FA Cup, why not allocate a UCL spot to the FA Cup winner? We'll soon see Prem teams take the competition seriously but they won't.
Exactly, there's only been a few instances in recent years where a non-top 4 team have won it:It's nearly always won by a big team tbf

Think we will draw Sunderland
I'll be honest, I'm not 100% sure. AI slop seems to indicate 'yes' but I'd take that with a pinch of salt.UEFA don’t allow domestic cup winners into the CL do they?
It’s just of course that generally UEFA gives more weight to league position than cup performance when it comes to qualification (and rightly so). If they allowed it however then sure.I'll be honest, I'm not 100% sure. AI slop seems to indicate 'yes' but I'd take that with a pinch of salt.
A big issue with the Prem is that it's a league of 'have and have nots', if you not fighting for survival or the Top 8, you're bobbing along really. The big incentive of a UCL place for winning the FA Cup gives a significant cash injection for clubs doing nothing. If you're 4-6th place, you're probably giving the FA Cup your all in case some midtable team like Everton win the FA Cup.
To be clear, it should only be reserved for the winner. If you get runner up, maybe an Europa League spot in some circumstances.
EDIT - apparently they can but an existing proposal on the table previously has effectively said yes, but on certain conditions.

FA Cup winner to be awarded Champions League spot - but there's a big catch
Holders Leicester City would still only have been in the Europa League.metro.co.uk
I agree that should, but looking at most historical season, there’s a clear Top 3 followed by another 2-3 teams that are separate by 1-3 points. Why not guarantee Top 3 for UCL and if the FA Cup is won by an automatic qualifier, it roles to 4th place. If the winner is outside that, they get the reward. It’s just of course that generally UEFA gives more weight to league position than cup performance when it comes to qualification (and rightly so). No, the fan bit came second. As a result of years of shadow squads and ridiculous rotation.Ruined by fans saying they don't care about a cup run too surely?

No doubt. But 2 years ago at Wembley no one was thinking about that. No, the fan bit came second. As a result of years of shadow squads and ridiculous rotation.
I see it’s the FA Cup Draw this weekend.
Who will we get? Big club? Small club at home? Another cup run?
No thanks. I hope we lose and get the sideshow out the way.
MAD - I think not
I dont want villa anymore , because i want that to be special next season in the premier leagueWe've been waiting for many years for a big home cup draw to fill the stadium now that we are filling the stadium will probably end up getting a big home cup draw, sod's law.![]()
