This slow death could go on for years and years and years. ...............
It seems about right now to make drastic steps.
Just put us out our misery and fold the club. I'm almost past caring where we end up when we start again.
I'll still be there.

The delay with it being on the offal is that they want to release it with a picture of the new manager Steve Evans. Unfortunately the .jpg of him is so massive it's going to take at least 24 hours to compress to the size it will fit on a web page without breaking t'interweb.

"Technical Director, Mark Venus will take responsibility of first team duties with immediate effect" (note the rogue comma, what professionals they are!)

Do we read from this that Venus is in charge now for good, or is that an interim appointment?

So it was Sisu's fault when we were top of the league and top 3 and then top 6 for a large chunk of the season last year?

I like Mowbray, I really did, but he has made serious errors. We cannot just excuse every manager because we have shitty owners.

Have Sisu given Mowbray a 24th place budget or not? The answer is not. We clearly should not be bottom. We are bottom because of poor recruitment by Mowbray and his picking the wrong formations and tactics and making the incorrect substitutions.

Now there may well be a knock on effect from how the owners run the regime here, but in spite of everything 'Sisu' we are drastically underperforming. That HAS to come down to the manager.

If we were midtable and going nowhere, you would have a point, but we are not, we are 10 games in, without a single win and bottom of the table.

Unless Sisu have cut Mowbray's budget enormously this season (no-one have said that is the case), then this poor level of performance rests on the managers shoulders.

We get it, Sisu are shit owners, but we can't just keep blaming them for everything and anything, such as the City being overrun in games because the manager decided to change systems of his own volition.

I am disappointed to be right. I liked TM and I think given the right support, we could have been successful (to a point). If I hear anything tonight, I will let you know

The whole situation is unsettled, unlikely anyone can perform in the prevailing atmosphere.
I bet crazy decisions are imposed from above quite frequently, sign of a company hurtling toward another administration.

Yep, with the support I am sure he could well have been successful, but he had to work with what he had to work with and he recruited poorly this season unfortunately and deployed some odd tactics and formations.

Venus will only still have what we have to work with plus any odd players he can pick up who are out of contract as you would have to say the likelihood of many them being anything approaching match fitness is going to be quite low.

He's still going to be working with the 'babies.'

Now you're getting it! We should also take down the Jimmy Hill statue and replace it with one with every previous manager as no one is actually responsible while they're in control, it's all the last guys fault. They've only had the club for 9 years and in fact started it from scratch in that time, you can't blame them for everything.

Also, if you crash 9/10 cars, it's not because you're a shitty driver or keep buying inappropriate cars, it's because they were shit cars in the first place.

^actual logic used in this thread.

They haven't, have they? I doubt it's possible for them to if they wanted to.

Were Leicester in a position like ours when the Thai came in?

Again, nobody has said everything is their fault, they have said some blame.

Good on him for not taking any cash, shows what a gent he is. Many may remember Gordon Strachan and what he did after he left the club.

I liked Mowbray wish it had worked out, but he did make a lot of mistakes and do think he has brought a lot of this on himself. For example getting rid of Aaron Martin before we'd got a replacement. Getting rid of Aaron Philips too was a mistake as he was a good all-rounder. But hey, good luck to him, nice bloke.

This news is surely a much bigger protest against the owners than a veto of a home game.
This is something that that will reach a far bigger audience and hopefully TM will expand on the reasons for his decision as soon as the dust has settled and all of the loose ends have been tied up.

Left with his head held high, and I respect him for that. However, he only has himself to blame for the position we're in.

I completely agree with Otis, we have really shit owners who do proportion some of the blame, but the bizzare transfer activity, team selections, tactics, and substitutions are the responsibility of one man, and one man only. He failed on that front pretty fucking badly.

I wish him all the best, but I do wonder what's around the corner for us next...

But we haven't so what is the point of stating something that isn't factual?

This club has been on a downward spiral from the moment Richardson sold HR, that is where this mess started. That is why the club struggled to keep up the financial committments at the Ricoh, which is why we nearly went into admin, which is why we attracted a hedge fund like SISU.

No Richardson, no SISU.

This is the odd thing about this forum is that some users feel the need to have a single 'thing' to blame -

Should SISU invest more if they want us to get promoted - Yes
Should TM have done better with the current squad - Yes
Should the players be doing better - Yes
Has the litany of failures of previous regimes helped caused the problems today - Yes

Don't think people can disagree with those can they?!

So, when we were doing well last season, were top of the league and scoring for fun, did you think, “Thanks Mr Richardson, this is all down to you”?

There was a distinct lack of SISU out protest too, wasn’t there?

It's the duality Torch. SISU have failed and "some" of the responsibility for that apparently falls on people who were here almost 10+ years ago. It's SISU's responsibility, they've done nothing that has improved our situation. Forget what happened before, the starting point for SISU is what happened from the day they arrived and that is failure that has caused decline at a faster rate than witnessed before. It's also escalating. That's their doing, no one else's. It stems from a lack of ability or willingness to do anything but. No one from before their time is doing that for them.

You are right, but we were not the 1st to make that mistake- Southampton, Leicester, Derby, Swansea, Cardiff I could go on, all sold there old grounds have had new owners come in due to financial issues post selling / moving. All now in better positions than us, Leicester even got relegated in the middle of it all, as we did. But 9 years on SISU have had more than enough time to sort it out, or get on their bikes. In fact Leicester were at one point in a worse position than us, didn't own the ground, about to go under again.....Champions league now, we might do well in the Football League trophy, oh just remembered there are other league teams in that not just PL youth teams
