Can you lot sign a suicide pact instead of cluttering up the board with this pointless whinging?
But what's a forum for if not to vent your spleen, with all that goes on
At this football club the only thing that ever seems to piss you off is
Fellow supporters.

The problem is though if Mowbray sees the likes of Wilson as a replacement that's not a realistic alternative as he's wages would always be too high.

sounded like he was close to us at one point

after pressleys signings and some of mowbrays last year i am happy to shoot for the stars and land on clouds at worst

We are seriously shooting ourselves in the foot. It's almost as if we have written off the first 4/5 games of the season already, we've known the season starts on Saturday for ages but TM is saying it's okay because we still have five weeks to bring people in. Should have all been done already, I understand that he might have missed out on targets but he should have had his plan b and plan c already in place

right now plan b is to use academy players to fill in slots for a few games.

but no maybe he should spend whats left on budget on players he doesnt want just because fans are worried about august.

I think we're probably in the territory where TM will be considering Finch, Lawton and George Thomas as first teamers. On the basis of needing 2 senior players for each position, we are now doing OK but do need three defenders including a specialist right back.

That's the thing, then instead of him picking unrealistic targets it is the club's fault for him not being able to pay those unrealistic targets...

Let's face it...the sad fact is that our owners do not want to pay the going rate for anything except legal advice & representation.

New players of real current quality beyond loans are becoming as fanciful as the new stadium they promised us!

...onwards & upwards PUSB

So Jodi Jones, a player who had a £300,000 bid for a year ago, McCann, Ghadzev and a striker who once cost £3 million are in your view not good enough at League One level?

You can also add Reid to that list after he played in a top 5 side last season. Apart from Thomas who is unproven, all the signings have quality - we just need some more which I'm hopeful we will get.

The only problem with your theory is players and agents can afford to wait. Also Premiership squads and Championship squads take shape late. TM can have 5 loans but they still come out of the budget and have to be paid for. This pool of resources is potentially far better than the dross he could have signed by the end of July.

Not panicking, but we have 3 games in 7 days and only Tudgay who has any experience on the bench.

Ricketts wont be able to play 3 games in 7 days and its not like Willis isn't prone to an injury or two.

I'm not concerned, its just a shame we are in this position. Fingers crossed we will be all hailing TM at the end of the season for this strategy

Yes we have 3 games in 7 days but those are against Swindon (who are in a worse predicament than us by far) Portsmouth (league 2 and would you really care if we were out of the cup) and Shrewsbury (who we can beat at home)

If we get through those games with a win a draw and a loss which is easily achievable whilst adding quality players we will be in a lot stronger position than if we'd bought in players who weren't quite up to it ready for Swindon.

For once I'm actually saying we pretty much have the quality, we just need the quantity.

However, there is absolutely no denying we need a good 5 or so decent players to give this season's promotion challenge a realistic attempt.

Well Grendel & Co...Jodi Jones was originally signed on loan from a lower level & cannot be considered proven after what - 5/6 appearances?
Unless I have missed something Mcann is on loan until Dec 31st.
Gadzev has not played in English football so relatively unproven.
Sordell nasty ankle injury yet to be proven back to his best - which even at his last best he isn't an out & out goal-scorer (4 in 21 games) though in fairness those around him may not have been giving him the service.
Reid has performed with success at this level previously to be fair...current performance - released by Preston after an 18th place finish last season. Maybe L1 level player...although 11 clubs in 10 yrs. ..something doesn't seem quite right does it?

So none that commented has actually shot down my argument in flames imo. If you wish to you can look forward to the coming season with a major degree of optimism - I think I am just being realistic in thinking we will finish no higher than 8th although would gleefully eat humble pie on that one.

Oh...and funnily enough - there is no stadium. So who is doing the wind-ups exactly?

Darius Henderson once cost £2 million ;)

Some decent signings have been brought in, but not enough quality in depth and sadly we have not replaced all those that have been let go, signed elsewhere or returned to the parent clubs. So still a lot to do before we can be competitive over a season, but i think most would see the ones brought in do add something to the squad, just a shame they didn't come with 5 more of the same ability.

Not been a great pre season, but its what we have and what we will play with until more come through the door.

So lets talk realistic targets within our budget. Who should we have signed and who should be our targets?

More quality is on the way, it would not have been said if there wasn't . Trouble is it gives the ammo to the the make it up bullshiters of who it may be .

Would love to see Dominic Samuel here on loan, he has only featured 3 times for Reading in pre season, and was on the bench for all of those games

Thats the thing, people are saying they trust TM and that he is going a great job and it is down to finance etc. However, TM knows his budgets and if he is sat around speaking to players who were on 20k a week last season then they are bound to be holding out for a higher offer that is out of our range.
Who are all these players that he has spoken to that are on 20k a week.

So is he supposed to go for the players that have been on higher wages and that have other clubs after them that are better off than us or players that should be good at this level?
