Monzo

Saw that Hoffman is no longer involved so would suspect Monzo to be replaced at the end of the season

It’d make no difference whatsoever.
Well I would have presumed the only reason Monzo are involved in the first place is down to Gary Hoffman being a Cov fan and they are only signing a year at a time deals

If they end up selling a stake to private equity it seems less likely an expensive sponsorship would be encouraged. So doubt it will be extended unless their business turns around before renewal.

They need to massively expand in Europe and have closed their US operation.

Unfortunately for them they overvalued themselves in the last funding round and Revolut has about 5x as many customers as they do. They seem unlikely to raise the capital they need to try and catch up.

Initially, Hoffman probably was the key. Now, the commercials trumps all imo and the 1 year rolling deals probably suited both parties. For us, we presumably wanted to secure promotion to negotiate favourable terms and Monzo is still a small bank who probably don’t want to be weighed down by a large sponsorship.

The Premiership viewership figures is huge and very desirable for brands trying to grow their brand nationally and globally.
