Isn't it the Police preventing it rather than the club?

I do remember a bit of trouble near the staircase going to Tesco last time we played them, saying that this time around they'll probably about 8K Cov fans and most would have left by the 80th minute, not that I can blame them.

It must be but are they going to police the cash turnstiles

Nah they will be too busy sitting in their nice secure vans and having the odd person out with a camera recording things.

Yup, I'd guess the police numbers and overtime is vastly inflated whilst they try and keep the away fan numbers down to give them a peaceful afternoon, could backfire badly though if a couple of hundred Millwall fans get in the home ends. Question is does the large away support offset the extra police costs, if not then the Londoners are just costing CCFC money ?!

I know a couple of Millwall supporters and apparently a load of them were attacked by Coventry fans outside a working men's club a few seasons back in Coventry.

They were on the coaches and getting a Police escort when it stopped outside some club. A load of City fans came running out and attacked the coaches. They reckon the Police set them up.

According to my Millwall friends all their top boys are paying us a visit this weekend.

Which working mens club? Sounds like Football Factory, OAP style.

I can imagine a pitch invasion if they get a winner, just like us at Chesterfield.

To be fair, this will be the biggest police presence we have had in years, despite around 8k Cov being there.

Yes, they're all coming by coincidence, it's their annual 'flag day'. They've had the added bonus of cheap tickets from Euston to Cov, £20 return or less I believe.

Can usually get that when you book in Advance, got Cov to Euston for 13.50 return before, bargain. :)

Is it the police who have come up with this plan? Why don't the CT ask them about it. Any idiot can see what is going to happen if you restrict tickets to away supporters and allow pay on the gate for home fans.

Who knows? I suppose whoever is behind it thinks that there is a better chance of having some degree of control of 1900 Millwall fans than say 4000. It's a really short sighted decision by who ever made it. Agree with what you say "any idiot can see what is going to happen".

I think it is the police, they aren't known for being the brightest.

I just hope the club have the sense to keep it safe, I am not sure if I fancy groups of them sat in the JSB stand. If there is no pay on the day by the scoreboard, where are they going to go?

They will still have cash turnstiles in the corner by 31 so how are they going to stop them walking up to 15 etc when there in the stand

You wont know they are their if they behave and just watch the game.

And their wont be huge numbers of them all together to be honest will their.

Stupid handling of the situation from the police and the committee at the club allowing this to happen though, and someone should be made accountable if things turned sour.

Any away fans in home areas is a potential for trouble but this could be explosive. Theyre not exactly known for their diplomacy with other fans.

His team kicked off with their local rivals on Saturday he was on a video being held back, hilarious.

Yeah , saw that . seems to be plenty of coverage of him spouting off but , no coverage of him landing a punch .

If the police are that worried they should do something similar to what happens at Portsmouth v Southampton games.

You have to take a club coach from the home ground to the away ground, which are police escorted. Then keep them in after the match until the home fans have dispersed and load the coaches back up for the return trip.

I don't understand how the likes of Leeds are allowed 6000 to come to us, but wont let Millwall even bring over 3000... Is it because we cant afford the police anymore? Either way its one game I am looking forward too!

Why don't they give them extra tickets to the away end and police them before the game and keep them in the ground for 20 minutes after the final whistle.

They have one of the lowest away averages in the league. If they've sold 1900 anyway are really that many more gonna travel? There biggest away following since Xmas was only 1700 and that was a derby match against Colchester. Took only 1200 to Swindon a few weeks back and only 700 to Walsall.

They can only get tickets if they are signed up members and registered to do so. They also get a restricted number of tickets due to the police. Their support in general is a lot better than ours
