Just got back & another brilliant 3 points & as usual , a good away day at Millwall .
A tricky , no nonsense opposition , but we have a team of confident players , with really competent substitutes, plus our ability to give “ the Wolf “ his debut & how good was he !
Excellent Skyblues & now let’s start believing

BTA has been excellent.
He's really surprised me this season, like a new signing in the wide roles.

He doesn't have the composure to play as the only CF in our system but his strengths are his fitness and work rate which he uses really well when wide.

If Simms can continue his strong cameos then we really do only need a single wide player to round out our attacking roles.

BTA deserves a big shout out and I’d seriously consider keeping him as a starting winger.

He’s playing well at the moment and it’s good to have a bit of competition.

Thinking about it, I think most of our players are doing well at the moment even the ones such as BTA, Simms and Dasilva who have had their critics in the past.

He's maybe taking the pressure off the squad and deflecting attention
Mourinho was a master of it
I read a piece on mourinho - he said himself he said half the stuff he did becuase it pushed the attention onto him rather than his squad.

I’ve noticed Lampard always says something slitghlty eyebrow raising after every game, whether it’s the ref performance or like the last one where he said that the schedule was ridiculous as we have to play 12:30 on Saturday

One gripe about last night is that the support weren't quite in full voice. Not quite the partisan end and songs struggled to get songs going. A general issue for midweek games in London...

Think it’s a combination of this, while also applying constant, but polite, public pressure to Doug ahead of January.

Both of them have mentioned it in recent interviews - Doug joked about Lampard’s reaction to the squad depth, but then made it clear that he prefers a smaller squad, while Lampard has now repeated that it will be difficult to maintain these levels given how thin the squad is.

There may already be exploratory conversations already taking place ahead of the January window - I’d hope there are! - so could be a tactic to encourage the club to pursue our top targets and ensure some proper spending. 🤞🏼

We've not been fluent in our attacking over the last 3 games. Taking 2 of the best attacking players out of any team, and that would probably affect their fluency too. We have looked way more solid, and the fight and togetherness has really come through.
4-0 last night flattered us. 2-1 would probably be a fairer score line. Then again our recent game against Norwich should have been 4-1 to us in terms of how the match played out. Oxford should of been a win for us too.

Thought Millwall looked like one of the better teams we’ve played this season, with the caveat being they don’t look like they can score goals, which is an unfortunate position to be in

The end product from their attacking players lacked any sort of composure and was always rushed meaning they created little of note. Saw some of Millwall fans online saying they played better than us; no you didn’t. Rushworth didn’t have to make a save until we were 3-0 and resting some of our more important players!

Realising how lucky we are to have goals all across the midfield and front line.

I Absolutly loved the defensive work last night, much more desire to block/ get 2nd balls and die to stop ball going in. They loved it

Rushworth excellent saves late on / defensive unit so much better, think back 12 months was horrific.

Never worried about goals and fact we are scoring from all angles is just brilliant.

wright classic striker, not great game, touch heavy - bags 2 - lovely stuff.

Good job last night. Professional performance. 4 decent goals, good performances from most and a great 3 points after the results from Tues night.

Defo Houchen 87 vibes from Hajis 2nd. Great cross and great header. I remember when we signed him, there was a header from a highlights reel that was similar and I've been waiting for some of that and last night it happened. He's such an effective player.

And cheers to whoever suggested parking at Asda 🙌🏻
