Just have to look at the results so far elsewhere to see these games seem to be more about resting players and getting minutes in legs , intensity barely there either

That was really poor and scrappy. The midfield consists of Grimes.

None of the fringe players making a stake for a place, really. Raphael does move extremely well with the ball, though.

We have none of the midfield joining the attacks like you get with Torp and Rudoni

Very average. Andrews not in the game. BTA taking stick but only he and Grimes look up for it. Brau looked tidy - does the right things. Simms is clearly trying but his touch is just awful.

Allen is missing from this game. Andrews looks lost. Attack is shocking apart from Rapha who is positive on the ball. We have no creativity and look half asleep.

Meh.. but of a nothing game.. the downgrade from Torp to Allen is so noticeable, he’s far too deep

This game won’t define our season but would be nice to see a better performance in the second half. Very little creativity with this midfield, Rapha the only one really looks like making anything happen. KKH and BTA both having poor games and Andrews is looking a little out of his depth. I doubt Lampard really cares about the result tonight but get Wright, Rudoni and van Ewijk on and we probably still win this.

Right now the fringe players ain’t done anything to even get a place on the bench! Allen I think is so far off where he and we need him to be! Simms is so rusty he’s just nowhere near alert enough. Huge improvement needed 2nd half

Yep agree, but in Andrews and Rapha you have very raw players there for experience. Allen however I'm surprised hasn't really been at the races.

Rapha is the only real outlet at the moment. We look so open when we lose the ball

Nothing in it but soft goal. Andrews needed to be stronger and Kelser-Hayden sharper. Good to know Brau has a decent long throw. Raphael has shown he is useful from dead balls.

Pretty much even, possession wise, but it looks like we’re a bit more up for it than you are so far.

Both sides have some big guns on the bench, so it’ll be interesting to see what Fat Frank does 2nd half (as in who he’ll bring on) and how Alex Neil counters that.

Most the performances range from meh to poor, Allen though just looks totally pointless.

We have two players up front who can’t control/hold the ball.

BTA has been awful, but clearly after he was lauded the new saviour at the weekend people can’t look objectively and call him out for a bad game

Disjointed which is to be expected with the changes. Raphael looks lively, pretty meh first half from both sides

It's a glorified friendly for fringe players.

Would have been nice to try and secure Andrews a good league 1 loan

I don't think either team gives a shit to be fair. This competition is handy for getting in two glorified friendlies in August to get players up to speed, nothing more. From R3 onwards it's an inconvenience.

Allen’s like a lost puppy, just shadowing Grimes! No movement from him to create space

How has he shown he's useful from dead balls exactly?

Not been that bad, its a second string side. Milwall very compact which is what we always struggle against, allen and andrews arent going to break them down so Rudi and Torp on at 60 please, Rapha and BTA looking to do something but not getting the final ball/decisions right

It’s only the 8 changes from Saturday, they’re all good back up players but not all together, put any of them into the team on Saturday and they’ll be fine, except maybe simms

KKH getting written off after a couple of sub appearances and a couple of cup games with the B team is absolute peak SBT though
