The goal was coming constant long balls upto Godden against their entire defence the defence had no rest constant pressure from pointless long balls in the end we cracked if you wanna go long put players on who can win long balls no ?

That was utterly dreadful. We look an appalling side. You can forgive losing games at this level if it feels like you've given it your best shot but that was far from it tonight. Our passing is diabolical, we rarely find our own players no matter how little pressure the passer is under. Going forward we were completely toothless, Godden essentially took part in a 10km run this evening as opposed to a football match he has so little service. Tactically we were woeful, constantly going long to Shipley and Allen meaning we were gifting Middlesbrough possession with ease, all while playing a 3 at the back system with our wing backs offering nothing going forward. They were a poor side yet have beaten us and didn't have to play particularly well to do so. Getting sick of people banging on about how we should lower our expectations as well, may as well not bother at all this season if you think it's totally fine to play the way we are at the moment and lose every game we play. The results are shit and the football being played is even worse.

Thought we did a little better in the second half and Sheaf looked OK. Bad day for Shipperz though.

Don't know why ppl are attacking Godden. Did he even get a touch of the ball? Lobbing high balls to him on his own surrounded by 6 feet+ defenders doesn't count as bringing him into the game.

you think anyones saying fuck it? But we're up against a massive jump in quality, anyone who thinks we can just carry on where we left off in L1 is deluding themselves.
Nobody is expecting us to win the league playing it around like we do but its the basics going wrong. Defenders losing men by walking into the midfield for no reason, midfielders misplacing 3 yard passes under 0 pressure, strikers not setting foot in the opposition box for 90 minutes, management not playing to our strengths. If we don't improve our performances then we're fucked because the opposition isn't getting any easier all season.

We might as well give up now then. If that's what it's going to be evey week. Crying about the fact the team are above us in the table, have more money, have a striker who played champions league 35 years ago. It's always something.

Most teams that come up from league 1 could say all that, but many of them survive. Luton rolled up their sleeves and got on with it, as did Barnsley. We need to do the same and stop this game of top trumps every time we lose like it means anything.

I trust Robins to turn this around, and yes, take points off the top teams because that's how football works.

so many words and fuck all to do with what I said

Robins has to be looking at a different formation for next game this week. Don’t care if it doesn’t work on the day but keep playing like we are and we are cannon fodder for the rest of the league.

Let's have it right. If we'd watch that game tonight when we were top in league 1, we'd say boro are nothing to worry about.

18 shots to 3? Who gives a fuck one of their shots was a 35 yard back pass from Hamer. They had about 8 that drifted over the bar from from 25 yards.

Lack of pace will kill us. Robins wanted us to sit in but had nothing to break. Felt sorry for Godden. Don't think we will go down but will be touch and go. Hopefully Jobello/Kastaneer give us an outlet. Shipley, Allen work hard but not convinced they are good enough at this level. Kelly has to play when fit.

Tonight's pissed me off more than Saturday because there are still people clinging to delusions that it's just because we're against teams in the top half, or teams in good form. Wake up and smell the coffee fast, we're on for a humiliating season when we won't have had a better chance to stay in the division

Who do you see going down ahead of us ? Wycombe possibly who’s your other 2 ?

What we're witnessing here is the extinguishing of hope that some had that we would compete at the top end of the league, we as a team are inexperienced at this level, playing against bigger, stronger and quicker players than last season, if we survive it will be by the skin of our teeth, hopefully we will be able to add a couple in January and shift some out. It's going to be a long slog, buckle up and hold you're nerve, we're going to lose a lot of games.

Not seen any games but I think people should be more supportive. Clearly a big step up and maybe we are not playing to our ability yet. Some people are really scathing but don't think that's helping anyone in the team or our manager.

I'm not one of those typical "get behind the team/ lads" regardless types but I think that's maybe best to do right now.

Stay in the mix till jan and attempt to bring a couple of players in who can make a difference gets my vote

I mean it doesn't help for sure, and its shocking for morale. Hence why 'get them out the way' was a load of old crap.
Regardless something needs to change, we aren't competing.

Think about it... He's fast as fuck... He's big and powerful... The question is solely on his attitude and his desire.. Isn't it really... He'd scare players more than Allen or o hare... Maybe for the wrong reasons but I don't think the club should give up on him just yet... As if we change system... He's going to be needed
