Message from King

Nothing wrong with the manager, he’s proven what he can do with the right players, he’s going to struggle with what he’s got this season

the one criticism you can lay at Lampard even prior to this season 90% of his permanent signings haven’t really delivered at all

So these players being brought in , are not Franks choice?
Were his choice but not his first choice…you’d of thought we’d of gone a bit over budget on at least a couple of players, but it’s tough, xhaka was roughly 16 million but prob 100 k wages, we were never doing that, he’s signed the best players we could afford, we’re way short, only hope is we get to January still in with shout and do what we should of in the summer, buy a couple of quality players that can come straight in and help and TBF we do get the players we need in January , grimes and onyeka were brilliant signings

Why would we be strict on the pay structure in the summer and then blow it in Jan?

he’s signed the best players we could afford
So I'm not sure what you're issue is.

You've repeatedly stated we 'completely fucked the window', but now got the 'best players we could afford'.

That's a pretty big contraction there.

Fwiw, thought we had a good window, except we needed a better old-head than I think Pinnock will be. Maybe he'll surprse me, though. Cherif seems too inexperienced for a club in our position, too.

I’d hope because we want to stay in the prem and realising the pay structure we use hasn’t worked..we signed 12 players and we’re still starting with 7/8 from last season ,we’ve wasted a lot of money, the money we’d overpay on a couple of players in January is worth it if we stay up, as an example xhaka for 16 million on 100k a week on a 3 year contract I isn’t far off what we’ll eventually end up paying for rushworth or yirenki..give or take a million , not a finance expert and my maths is shit but surely xhaka is the better option for more or less the same money as buying a 27 million player on 50k ( max) a week ? I know we’ll prob sell yerenki on for a profit but that’ll be because we got relegated,

We were never going to pay £100k a week wages

I know that was an example of what players we could of got for about the same money as spending nearly 30 million on a player..

It doesn’t work like that

it worked for Sunderland….sticking to our budget def doesn’t

Sunderland brought in a big bag of cash from players sales and have a bigger turnover than us.
Its not logical to think we could of matched what they spent when they first came back up

I never said match what they spent…we couldn’t, but we could of signed a couple of quality players for a far less transfer fee and paid a bit more wages, we’re in a position where you’d expect us to be with what we signed…

worked well for Leicester

I think it worked perfectly for Leicester…and I said sign a couple of quality players and give them a bit more wage..Leicester signed a load, they’re exactly where they should be

how many players would sign without a relegation clause on those wages? That’s the problem. I’m not being disrespectful but you have zero understanding of how finances work and how you have to balance risk against opportunity- top players wouldn’t sign a deal we’d be capable of offering

I’m sure I’m going round in circles….ive literally said our transfer plan was a joke…just offer a couple of players more money…we could have got Barkley if we offered a bit more, but we stick to our budget..that’s why we’re where we are and why we’ve got a squad nowhere near good enough. You don’t have to be an expert in finances to work that out, you just need eyes

so 2 such signings would ensure survival?

if you set a budget you don’t just then ignore it. Oddly that’s a budget.

If the weather forecast says there is 90% of rain you don’t buy expensive summer gear - you first ensure you manage the risk of a downfall

Do you not think though this season we had to spend a bit more on wages…and I’m not saying they’d insure survival but we’d be in a better place than now… surely if the plan clearly isn’t working come January you’d change it slightly…just frustrating that we were talking to good players but never had a chance of signing them, waste of time, why can’t we just win a game and it’ll all be rosey again,, so frustrating
