Godden
Kelly
Fadz

Were the changing room men it’s a shame when legs start to fail but they are massive in the rebirth of our club

Can anyone name another players that has done celebrations “at” the City fans? Both sticking your fingers in your ears and not celebrating with the fans, but explicitly turning your back on them is an intentional act and one TBH I don’t think lines up with the club philosophy Robins has tried to instil. Godden is a legend and has done great things for the club but no player is bigger than the club and as soon as they think they are questions have to be asked.

Pretty sure that fooooooking gimp Bellamy gave us the shhhhh and/or the middle finger both when he’s scored for & against us!

Personally I hope he sticks his fingers in his ears every week until May, that would be a lot of goals and could guarantee promotion.

Oh I'm sure if he has scored the winner as opposed to the 5th and 6th goal, his reactions would of been very different.

Apparantly some on Facebook thought he was sulking because he couldn't take the penalty ... he wasn't even on the pitch

I'm sure Godden wants to play, he might even be somewhat justified in feeling he should start ahead of Simms but he's 32 and been in and out of sides all through his career. If he did have the hump about something on Saturday then I'm certain he will shake it off and get back to being the model pro who's been so important for us

I really like Godden and knew he'd score as soon as he came on against Oxford. However, his days as a starter are behind him and he has to accept his role as an impact sub against tiring defences. Hope he is willing to share goal-scoring tips with Simms as the latter's technique is still very much lacking.

Easy tiger. Noones kicking off my end. Just highlighting that there’s probably a reason he didn’t celebrate the goals. No fussed either way.

He’s played a big part of our comeback to todays level but he’d agree his career is towards the end sooner rather than later, at this level, such is life.

Yes he’s human and cares about himself more than the club. He’s not grown up supporting them.

Wipes his nose with his shirt, not once, but twice, as a celebration. Class.

We went in Wycombe hospitality for the 4-1 there. Godden came over for a chat at the end - fantastic hat-trick quickly followed by another at Tranmere.

You also see him clap the fans at the end so it’s either nothing or it’s a clap good bye

Seemed a bit focused on, didn't it. Can't help but have the feeling there's something imminent.

Whether people do or don't like him is their choice. Spouting vitriol especially at him is pathetic. I'm also not sure why he would suddenly be an impact sub on tired defences as that usually means pace and he's not lost a yard, he never had it. In fact imo it's what he's always been lacking and if he it then we'd be nowhere near him, he'd be a starter in the Prem

Godden knows exactly what he is seeing, the club he walked into to is not the club he sees today, its different. He also knows he isn't getting younger and most importantly he knows Robins is not sentimental. The squad is younger, we move the ball faster and counter quicker, although he knows where the goal is, its at what level and does it fit us.

He has been really good for us, as has Kelly, Fadz and Allen. But are they going to be at the level we want to be and are they going to get better. Id say no, and as much as i like those players, time and standard is starting to leave them behind to what the club want. I would like Kelly, Fadz and Godden to stick in this season, and im sure Robins is happy with that as long as they understand the role being asked. If they aren't im sure Robins will make a decision for them and it will be time up at the club.

If I were him I’d drop a division or two, play for a local team or whatever, and smash them in for fun for a couple of years before retirement.

I never once used the word “pace” or “speed” in association with Godden. He still knows where the goal is and how to score. Throwing him on later on in a match against players that would have naturally become more fatigued over the course of a game in order to have an impact (i.e as an impact sub against a tiring defence) is all I was suggesting.

With 5 subs allowed these days, do teams get as fatigued as they used to?

I think he lives away from his family doesn't he?

They just had another baby a few weeks ago, he might want to play for a team closer to home to spend more time with his family.

Id do it whatever level of footballer I was. Surely better to take the piss on the pitch and work for a small club with a close fan base where you can make a real difference than spend your last days getting 20 min subs and struggling to compete.

I think your mentality might differ ever so slightly from that of a top-five league professional footballer.

Well if you ain’t getting in the side you ain’t a top five league footballer really. That’s the point. I know most do, but personally I’d not want that and would want to enjoy my last few years on the pitch.
