Hows it an irrelevance?
They didn't care about us, so why should we care about them?
Below ours last season by 200 fans. They travel well and they sold out last season with tickets being £37 quid. That extra £10 wouldn’t deter them just as much as it wouldn’t deter me if they charged that, even if I’d grumble about it.It's not a game that means much to either set of fans really, certainly not a rivalry. Albion's away followings have been below ours for several seasons (a reflection of the trajectories of the club's in recent years more than anything else tbf). They won't sell out for this. Cat A might have made sense, but A+ not justified, less so than Swansea which makes more sense.
I'm just saying why I don't particularly care about other fans.So because we were another club who went through the mill = totally fair to charge ridiculous prices to fans it had nothing to do with. K then

It is a local rivalry, all midlands teams want to get one over one another, I guarantee most people on here work with a Baggies fan or two.
It’s not a fierce rivalry but WBA can’t really claim we mean nothing (and vice versa) when they’d sell 6k in the away end on a Tuesday night.
The club has surely got to do a bundle deal for these two games. I don’t think Ipswich will be a Cat A+ game because it’s not a BH, people need to be in work the next day.F*ck me, £45 for a Xmas game is grim. If the Ipswich game is the same that's the club asking me to hand over £120 for me and my two kids to watch one game of second tier football. Not loving it, Doug.
dont care how people want to spin it the kids prices are atrocious , you could probably get away with the adult prices if the kids prices werent so poor
A FZ in the away end is needed if we’re charging the prices we do.Its not just away fans paying these prices its home fans too , look i dont care how people want to spin it the kids prices are atrocious , you could probably get away with the adult prices if the kids prices werent so poor

I’m glad I don’t use your chip shopLook anyone could of bought a season ticket for £440 so £19 a game, cheap as chips or kids £125 so £5.40 a game.
What Doug’s done is said look if you want to commit to the club look I’ll after you but if you want to come and cherry pick the best games it’s fine but I’ll charge you for it.
I thinks it’s bang on.
The point being made was that £45 ticket prices were needed to fund a push to the PL. In reality the difference made in profit between £45 tickets and £35 tickets won’t make that much difference to funds but it will put some people off coming to the games. The fact we’ve had only one sold out away end this season probably has something to do with pricing. We’re on course to break our attendance record this season, so this doesn’t make a lot of sense.
The big thing the club has got right is the season ticket prices so I’m not going to lose sleep over selling a few thousand tickets at steep rates.
People are not ready for £700 season tickets (or thereabouts) which is the norm in the Prem.
If the attendance figures quoted by Andy Turner in the Telegraph are correct we get this (hopefully the formatting is OK)Agreed, West Brom won't sell out.
We had tickets still available for Birmingham didn't we?
You just dont want it to sell out, stop hating.Agreed, West Brom won't sell out.

Your negative drone about the ticket prices.Hating on who?
We're about to get 31,500 against SU. That's how many we can now get.
If the crowd against Albion is 28K (my estimate), that's 3,500 fewer people buying tickets, 3,500 fewer people spending money at the ground and there is no option to open ST resale (as happened for Blackburn and will for SU) and generate even more revenue.
That's when it becomes a false economy. But of course, this is based on an estimate and I could well be wrong. If over 30K turn up then maybe not. Albion only brought 1800 a couple of seasons ago when they 'boycotted' at £37, so possible at £45 we will see similar if not lower numbers this time.
You think you know better than Sir Doug, top of the tabel smashing records but all your bleating on about is ticket prices they wont sell blah blah blah.So who am I hating on?
We'll sell out v WBA. Spoke to my Baggies colleague earlier this morning and whilst he called it a 'disgrace' said he'll pay the prices with his son. We're about to get 31,500 against SU. That's how many we can now get.

Supply and demand. It's simple economics.
Pay the asking price or someone else will.
Pricing is a disgrace. Shamefull.
West Brom will be smallest attendance of season. It doesn't matter even if we are top. Home and away end WILL NOT SELL out and there will be a rethink I'm sure from Doug.
100%.He could drop the price by 13 quid, fill the ground and still benefit from the f and b / merch sales.
100%.
Imo any away ticket over £35 not including fees etc I'd say is very steep.
Fair price should be £30 capped for all of EFL.
Makes for a better product and chance of fuller away ends.
Unless there's a new wave of comfortably off to be tapped? You keep focusing on King.
Ive said before I don't blame King for maximising his profits even if I think some of it is a bit short sighted. I don't think he's here long term so why should he care about how what he does now affects the club, or football in general in ten years time?
But this is a bigger problem and I think trying to rinse supporters will come back to bite football on the arse.

Not sure that bothers the money men. But maybe they’d be better to focus on how to get bums on seats in the areas of the ground currently empty. So why is it just us charging these obscene prices for adults and kids?
Our ground isn't even in the top 10 most sold stadiums in the division either.
You think you know better than WHAT I DO, top of the tabel smashing records but all your bleating on about is ticket prices they wont sell blah blah blah.
