There is just no pleasing some fans, your one of the ones who would have booed the players off if we drew Saturday. Just back the man ffs look what he’s done.

I have backed Doug more than 99% of our fans.

I'm just questioning and would be interested to hear his answer on why he's pricing our away tickets as the most expensive in the league.

Look anyone could of bought a season ticket for £440 so £19 a game, cheap as chip or kids £125 so £5.40 a game.

What Doug’s done is said look if you want to commit to the club look I’ll after you but if you want to come and cherry pick the best games it’s fine but I’ll charge you for it.

I thinks it’s bang on.

You keep focusing on King.
Ive said before I don't blame King for maximising his profits even if I think some of it is a bit short sighted. I don't think he's here long term so why should he care about how what he does now affects the club, or football in general in ten years time?

But this is a bigger problem and I think trying to rinse supporters will come back to bite football on the arse.

Get a grip you should be kissing the man’s feet. Have a shag and a beer and relax.

I would doubt that our chances of getting to the PL rest on the increased income gained from £45 seats over £35 seats.
Have we had a sell out away section yet this season? I cant think of one. Could be a false economy charging more per ticket but ultimately selling less.
We’re on course to break our attendance record this season, so this doesn’t make a lot of sense.

The big thing the club has got right is the season ticket prices so I’m not going to lose sleep over selling a few thousand tickets at steep rates.

People are not ready for £700 season tickets (or thereabouts) which is the norm in the Prem.

What about people rinsing the club by buying and using concession tickets when they weren’t entitled to such?

I regularly doled out my brother’s season ticket to friends and my partner in 23/24 and years prior. The club rightfully has clamped down on that. That’s why we have a large family zone and everything else is priced on the high end. The club should do something of an away FZ to mitigate some of the high prices.

Clubs up and down the country are looking at pricing models that look at 1 seat = 1 price which makes sense to some degree.

Armchair owners with no experience running anything keep telling King how to run things ‘properly’… The guy has a plan and the club is making progress on and off the field.

What's that got to do with backing him? He has more backing than pretty much any owner in football, and rightly so.

If perfectly possible to appreciate what he has done and raise concerns over pricing when you feel it crosses a line. £160 for a family of 4 is a lot. And not everyone can get a season ticket. Some people simply cannot because of distance or work commitments. Of course they should pay more per game, you won't find anyone that disagrees with that, it's not the point being made.

Away fans aren't being charged £19.

I asked if every club should have that view. Would you be happy if Swansea charged us £45?

Setting a dangerous precedent.
Most away tickets are £30+ quid. There’s a lot of tickets that are priced closer to £40 now.

He charging the people who cherry pick the best games but don’t want to commit to the club and buy a season ticket more. Fair play to him.

2 things, what has people buying concession tickets got to do with anything?
It should be clamped down on and it has been so I'm not sure what relevance it has.

Secondly, regarding your last paragraph,I clearly stated I'm not talking about just King but more football in general.

It’s the historical context that Kind inherited when he took over where 1/3 of STH and ticket sales were concessions. This is why the club has taken the stances it has.

Don't think I've seen any close to £45 though?

Edit: Ipswich charged Southampton top tier tickets £43 but even then, over 1000 were available in the bottom tier at £38.
It is steep which is why I empathise with away fans. It is expensive following a team in the championship. We’ve been quite lucky in October because the last few away games have been decently priced.

King did not take this stance in 25-26 because of historical abuse of concession tickets, what utter bollocks!

We seem to have a lot of fans who can’t take it they were wrong about Doug in the first place so grab on to anything they can to give him a slagging.

These are the type of fans who used to sit in the main stand at highfield road with a flask and a travel blanket.

No, but from 23/24 he has and made that clear in communications with fans. Hence, the FZ is large and v cheap tickets.

Are they? Genuine question because I'm not seeing any evidence of it. Both Derby and Leicester charged as little as £7 for kids iirc. We'll charge them £35.
Only Man U have actually adopted - single price ticket for kids as well as adults. No doubt other clubs will follow suit.

None of this explains why he's charging £45 and £35 for WBA and Swansea.

And to reiterate, this isn't a King/Coventry issue, it's a general issue.

Slagging? Bit dramatic. Doug is great, love the guy. These prices I don't agree with though. Perhaps having the ability to hold those two thoughts in my head at the same time makes me weird.

Don’t know who’s the bigger idiot. Those happy to pay it, or those defending the price.

‘Who cares about away fans’ is deeply, deeply moronic.

Why?

I'm not particularly happy with these prices, but I really don't see why I should care about away fans. None of them gave a crap about us when we needed their help (possible exception of Charlton).

I'm more concerned about our fans being charged it

Boxing Day is always a Cat A game irrespective of opposition, last season was the same for Plymouth… It probably won’t impact the attendance at all really - they travel poorly (lowest in the Championship last season).

WBA is a local rivalry, they will sell out and have an away support comparable to ours. Rightfully a high category game.

They’re football fans like you and me being slowly priced out. ‘They didn’t care when…’ is a totally irrelevant nonsense.

Hows it an irrelevance?
They didn't care about us, so why should we care about them?

Those defending the prices are, either those that don't travel away or the middle class "I'm alright jack" types.

They're getting in the PL mindset, forget personality or morals. It's all about the money (dum dum da da dum dum).

It's not a game that means much to either set of fans really, certainly not a rivalry. Albion's away followings have been below ours for several seasons (a reflection of the trajectories of the club's in recent years more than anything else tbf). They won't sell out for this. Cat A might have made sense, but A+ not justified, less so than Swansea which makes more sense.
