Hahaha yeah because that’s a fair reflection of the goal, he had no chance or saving it. As we all know it goes back to your weird Burge obsession.

As I said to Grendel, I don't know why you are bringing Burge into this.

We're talking about Marosi.

In my opinion he should have saved it and I'm not the only one to say this.

I think saying Marosi should've saved that is harsh. But on the other hand had it been last season and that had been Burge I've no don't some people would've been criticising Burge for not saving it or at least claiming a better keeper would have saved it

The only other if the same opinion also had a strange obsession with the hapless useless Lee Burge. Do you still have his poster on your wall?

Yes imagine thinking he should have saved this, how embarrassing of me

Just needs some of these gloves. This is embarrassing from you.

Look I'm not saying it was a howler by any stretch. I'm not saying the goal was his fault. I just think he could have done better.

However, I do not think he's all that he's cracked up to be. He was definitely at fault for two goals v Pompey.

Shipley’s gonna cause some nice headaches one Allen and Kelly are back.

At the moment probably looking like Walsh Kelly Shipley with O’Hare further forward in one of the front three roles.

Options all over. Robins has built a really nice squad.

Burge was a better shot stopper.

Marosi is better at everything else and is more suited to the way we want to play.

But as I say I don't think he's as good as many would have you believe and he has been at fault for a similar number of goals as Burge would have been by now.

Marosi - 6 Thought he coulda done better with the goal. Distribution better this week
Dabo - 7.5 Good to see him over his Oxford debacle, I think it effected him.
Mason - 7 I like his link up with Jordy
McFadzean - 6 Cocked up a back pass, luck to get away with it, shame I think he had a good start to the season, now not as consistent
Hyam - 7 Worked hard, did better than Macca this week
Shipley - 8 Our Man of the Match without a doubt, never say die attitude a leader
Walsh - 7.5 Decent game
O'Hare - 8 I love this lad, technically out best player by far
Jobello - 5.5 OK start, fades and seems to fade every week, maybe he is a little predictable
Godden - 5 His worst game for us
Hiwula - 6 Generous, but stick with him

Subs

Baka - 7.5 Took his goal brilliantly
Kastaneer - 7 Imagine him running at you full speed, he is a big unit, I like him

We dominated today, but thought their defence was outstanding. Wasted opportunities cost us

But he was a shite shot stopper - marosi is hugely superior in every department

Gettibg to point where any combo should give us a real chance

Lets say everyone fit we could put this team out in chrckatrade

Wilson
Mcallum
Williams
Rose
Pask
Westbrooke
Shipley
Allen
Kastaneer
Jones
Bakayoko

And still loads u cud swap any of those out for like

Biamou
Jobello
Kelly
Mxcadz etc

I really feel we can go far in cup without it hurting league

He wasn't a great shot stopper, he was so shit at everything else this was the one thing that people tried to cling to. He played well for a spell at the end of the league two season but was a guaranteed mistake every couple of games.

Don’t agree at all. We have upgraded our keeper.

I agree, especially for the way we want to play this year, I'm just saying he's not as big an upgrade as some think.

Look at the first two Pompey goals, they are both Marosi errors:

HOW THE FUCK IS HIWULA STILL GETTING GAME TIME????
Not for long, as soon as Jodi Jones, Liam Killy and Jamie Allen are fit and playing, he will be sitting on the bench.

What is latest on jones. November/december return?

If he ca return to old form and fitness he will be lethal in front 3

Probably after Christmas, with a bit of luck.

Marosi - 6 - didn’t do too much wrong but also can scare me sometimes with his distribution to our defenders

Dabo - 7 - impressed by him, really good at defending In one on one situations, can be let down by jobello at times

McFadzean - 5.5 - not completely awful but not his best showing, seems to think he’s a lot better on the ball than he is.

Hyam - 7 - for someone who is still quite old he is so calm and composed, would be interesting to see him and rose together.

Mason - 6.5 - don’t remember much of him today so can’t of done too much wrong, seems to be someone you can rely on to play decent consistently.

Jobello - 6 - I’ve stood up for him with the people I go with saying he is growing, but seems to have slowed down a bit now, doesn’t track back enough.

Walsh 6.5 - gets caught sometimes in bad positions but has great vision and can usually start us counter attacking.

Shipley - 7.5 - been very impressed with Shipley recently playing the best I’ve ever seen him, seemed to be everywhere today. Still makes the odd silly choice but getting better.

O’hare - 8 - still yet to see him have a bad game, he is majestic in that middle his footwork and work ethic make him stand out. Very happy he’s here for the season.

Hiwula - 6 - very very frustrating player because you know he’s got the ability in him to be a terror but he either is lacking confidence or just can’t be arsed. Grew into the game second half but still not doing enough for me.

Godden - 6 - think In the formation we play he can become very isolated, seemed to only find the ball today when he ventured out wide.

Baka - 7 - purely the goal reasoning, great finish. Looked a bit more agile in my opinion but I didn’t have my glasses on so could be wrong.

Kastaneer - 7.5 - chomping at the bit his directness is what changed the game. Not afraid to run at his man and to have a bloke that size running st pace will scare most defenders, I would start him next game.

All in all it’s frustrating not to of won having large amounts of control and a lot of chances but to remain positive we are unbeaten and they are not a bad side. A win at Rotherham on Saturday to hype us back up.

Marosi is a better keeper than burge I’d say , he is better with his feet in play... but I have to say that some of his kicking today was bad & had it been burge people would have been losing their biased minds!

That said, to say he should have saved the goal today is harsh. Free shot with the ball moving at speed across the goal! Walsh was much better second half but first half he was poor and you have to feel that Kelly or Allen would have been better in that role if fit

O hare on the other hand was absolute quality, great feet , great closing down & strength, great Vision. A really good signing... Shipley has a decent game but he does still frustrate me the way he pulls out of 50/50 balls and doesnt really tackle when he could. If he could add that to his game then he could go to a higher level & most likely wouldnt be here! Reminds me a bit of Jordan Henderson in the Liverpool team but without that tackle in him

Overall decent performance , but with the amount of possession and chances we had in the first half we should have won that game... like to see the possession stats for first half!!!

I can remember one bad kick that sailed out. I can also remember a flat goal kick he put perfectly on to Godden's chest. Ridiculous technique. Also had to go long to Jobello's head sometimes, again picked him out perfectly. It's not bias, it's fact.

Marosi - 6. Not his best game but lightyears ahead of Burge.
Dabo - 7. Solid performance.
Mason - 7. Also very solid.
McFadzean - 6. Was fine apart from the shocking backpass for me, but someone with his experience should have put that into the stands.
Hyam - 7. Back to last year's standards now, our best CB still.
Shipley - 8. Brilliant performance, could have had another couple of assists if others could finish.
O'Hare - 8. Also brilliant, I love his directness. Wouldn't move him out wide, think he is more dangerous in the middle.
Walsh - 7. Good second half, great tackle to save us, but first half was off the pace.
Hiwula - 6. Frustrating. Got to get a goal from at least one of those chances, but can't imagine anyone else being there to miss them.
Jobello - 6. Can't help but think he would look a better player with a bigger target man in the middle... his crosses often go into the right areas but not Godden's biggest strength.
Godden - 6. Worked hard but isolated, we need to find a way to bring him into the game more.

Bakayoko - 7. Great finish.
Kastaneer - 7. Looked dangerous, a bit worried Robins think's he's still only fit enough for 30 minute cameos at this stage of the season though! Would like to see him given a start.

Agree with this Shmmee. Shippers has been a major surprise for me this season...stepped up, works hard and has been creative. Thought he was was quality yesterday

One other thing....thinking back we have already scored some great goals this season ! (I just hope those simpler missed chances don’t come back to haunt us !). Playing as good football as I’ve seen in a long while though, probably since that half a season under Mowbray.

Won’t score with just Godden in the box especially if he doesn’t make any moves

There were two new strands to our acquisitions strategy over the summer

1. Source players from Europe (the new guy has connections there). Result - Kastanaar (subs bench) Jobello (underwhelming). Ok you have to allow some settling time, so it is too soon, but at best the outcome is disappointing.
2. The team last year was very young - youngest in the division - even younger with Willis going. Answer, bring good experienced players, especially in the central spine. Result: Allen (injured but looked good at Swindon. But we are now awash with midfielders). McFadzean (ok but not without fairly regular bloopers). The previous years's effort at recruiting experience resulted in Brown and Ogogo.

Good job other parts of our recruitment are working better...
