Hi everyone,

It's Goalkeeper Week over at ThePhoenix.news. We had a huge interview with Aled Williams on Monday, an analysis of Carl Rushworth's early-season performances yesterday and today there's a brand new interview with Marko Marosi.

It's a really heartfelt piece. Marko was very open about the terrible injury that he sustained while playing for Coventry and how his rushed recovery led to the end of his time at the club - a club that he said he imagined he would never leave.

Please do take a minute to have a look if you can, it's a very emotional story from a player who never got the chance to play in front of a Coventry crowd but one who was a part of our journey (he was fantastic in that League One-winning season).

I loved Marosi - Was such an upgrade on Burge at the time, was such as shame how it all ended for him.
He was great, wasn't he? Excellent business that we got Marosi and Wilson on frees in L1. He looked completely different after the injury and it was really sad hearing him speak about the injury and that he came back far too soon. Robins showing his ruthless streak by shipping him out so quickly. It all worked out fine for us, but Marosi never got back to where he had been pre-injury.

That was a bad facial injury and I think the time he was out we sort of outgrew him a bit then. I didn't actually realise how serious it was though.

Was a breath of fresh air compared to Burge though.

I do not want to slate Burge too much cause he did genuinely have a decent season when we went up from L2

But I will never believe Sunderland watched him during that 5-4 game and then decided to sign him:ROFLMAO:

An underrated player from our League One promotion season. Didn't feel worried going into The Championship with him and i'm sure he'd have had a much longer career at that level if not for the injury.

Was so confident and assured before his injury I remember a few times he gave me heart attacks at St Andrews with how casual he was when being pressed heavily but he never actually lost the ball. One of our better keepers of the last 25 years for sure, he’s always welcome back! Played a massive part in our turn around

I absolutely loved Marosi. He was vindication after years of Burge defenders not seeing what was in front of them.

Shame how it turned out for him. It was a really nasty injury.

League 1 hero

As I say all the time we owe where we are to people like him.

I will never ever understand negative talk about past players that achieved success with us
I agree, I can't think of any bad characters from our successful period (Bright and Kane apart) and everyone would have played their part in our history, even if it wasn't specifically on the pitch itself

Great quote to finish the article…

‘There is something about Coventry, about the football club,’ he says. ‘I'm telling you, all these players that have moved on just think about Coventry all the time. I'm convinced of that.’

Biamou, Baker and Maddison would agree with that.

Gus Hamer obviously think so.
