Self-defence is only a reasonable force. Hard to even say if it is, he might have whacked him a few times on the floor or when the "threat" was gone.

Obviously if / when the whole video comes out it will show more either way.

If it’s true about the blood transfusion then regardless of it initially being self defence, he’ll end up in prison.

There was a mass stabbing on Monday lunchtime which left two dead. Poor timing on your behalf to be fair.

Two dead after quadruple stabbing in London bloodbath

Neighbours heard someone outside saying, 'in a deep, shallow voice, "Help me"'.

I know we are seeing some creativity to deny it, but the UK is a pretty violent place these days.

That's what I mean, if he's jumped all over him for example it would be way past "self defence".

If a transfusion was needed, would think it's for internal injuries or something as if it was blood loss the floor would be covered.

There will be much more to it, no idea "which way" though. The police will know full well from the CCTV though.

Would hope the Spanish police (if that's where he went) will already know where he is.

The thing that always stands out for me when I’m back over is how angry a lot of people seem. I suspect it’s always been that way though.

No I think people these days do generally spend a lot more time being angry, mainly because they now have an obvious outlet for it. Even people who don’t live here can spend hours at a time droning on about how terrible it is.

Is this where people who went quiet in this thread come back? Welcome.

It might be worth waiting for the full video though which you would think somebody will have.

I find it weird that they seem to release the end part of these videos first, it's like they actually want to whip people up for the clicks etc.

It looks like there was a security guard (or something like that) there as well so another witness.

You would hope it is all on CCTV anyway.

I think with the airport one it was to try and get the "Police racist brutality" point across first. Same as "police attacked the mum".

I think no doubt Sir Tommy was attacked first which prompted him to hit someone so hard they need a blood transfusion.

He probably fled the country for fear of his life.

Guess the days they spent deciding on a jury they'd be happy with might have paid off. Perhaps some of the rioters regretting their early guilty pleas.

Amaaz denies assaulting Mr Ismaeil. He denies a second charge that he assaulted PC Marsden causing actual bodily harm. The defendant denies a third charge alleging he assaulted PC Lydia Ward causing actual bodily harm. He also denies a fourth charge alleging he assaulted, by beating, an emergency worker, PC Ellie Cook.

Co-defendant Amaad denies a single charge, namely that he also assaulted PC Marsden.

You need to stop peddling this nonsense.

Some crimes might appear as falling, but who's reporting them? The public have very little confidence in the justice system, or the police for that matter. Crimes are not being reported as much as the used to be. Take this report from Neighbourhood Watch - Shockingly, 58% of people who witnessed a crime over the past 12 months did not report it, with the main reason being they didn’t believe anything would be done. Then you have got people that have actually reported crime. According to the Victims' Commissioner Survey - Over a third of people that have reported a crime, wouldn't report one again.

The true conviction rates in the UK are also a joke, largely because the CPS will only put forward cases that they actually think they can win - so a huge amount of crime reporting that does happen, ends up going cold anyway. Another full circle moment as many people know this and therefore don't bother to come forward. Less police also means more incompetent investigations, such as collecting evidence, speaking to witnesses, and interviewing suspects - all of which come together and make a conviction harder, and less chance of it getting put forward.

When it comes to the CSFEW, it speaks to the public, which would be a good thing but for the fact that it omits many crimes from its survey including rape, assault, drug offences, fraud, forgery, crime against businesses and murder. Nearly all of which it has been admitted have risen, so you can't really use it effectively.

The government and police forces can try to silver cloud statistics however they want, which is in their best interests, but the system is well and truly broken beyond anything most civilians can understand. If you are telling me walking around the streets feels safe, and certainly safer than it was a few years ago - then I am afraid you are just demonstrating that you don't get out much.

A study commissioned by a home security firm found that people are worried about crime in their own home - hmm.

What are we thinking then in terms of sentence? I definitely think it should be a lot more for attacking a police officer (same for all the emergency services)

5 years? 10 years? Something in-between?

I remember reading about a guy who kicked a police officer in the head and got 12 months. Might not be much more than a year, unless they choose to make an example of them. I think 2 years is the normal maximum sentence.

Watching that vile foreign bastard punching female police officers to the floor is sickening to the core. No respect for law and order, no respect for our country. Always sad cunts rushing to their defence. It’s time for people to stand up and fight for what’s right now .
Jail these bastards for a long time!

Having a good few mates who are (or were) coppers, I doubt you'll find many who think that the punishments for assaulting a police officer are adequate.

There were over 55,000 cases last year. I'd like to see a similar level of outrage about all of them, regardless of the offender's ethnicity.

'When did it become OK to assault a police officer?'
