Potential sites identified, and commitments from stakeholders that they'd actively work to help a new ground happen as smoothly as possible would help immensely.

Those who support the Arena/ACL would not like that!

I admire your optimism NW but if SISU haven't managed to do that since the day they first muted the idea it ain't going to happen going forward. The cost of doing it will far outweigh the monetary value added to the club.

Dominant narratives can be very dangerous things, end up handicapping organisations/clubs/entities by pushing them into destructive positions.

You'd think after a period of ticking clocks, good business sense, no debt and the benefits of signing a sex offender, we'd all realise that by now.

Why the hell was everybody behind us building the Ricoh, if building a new ground is far worse for a club then staying where they are?

And why the hell are we discussing finance wrt a *club*??

And why the hell are we holding SISU up as examples of how to find a site for a ground and work with the local authority to make it happen?!?

They can put money in as a gift.
Any money put in as loan is counted in the calculation.
No, that's incorrect. Loans are not counted towards turnover (and therefore FFP), They have to inject equity, that counts towards turnover then 60% of turnover can be used.

No idea how Bournemouth got away with it in their promotion season, but are getting sanctioned for breaking FFP in the championship.

.... because there is no other option. We either get into bed with Wasps and get the best out of it we can or carry on as we are with no direction.

So if SISU aren't building they're only chance of selling (again, aside from a deal on the "not real" debt) is if they make a long term commitment to renting at the Ricoh. So you really are going to have to get over it at some point.

But if there's a potential owner at some point down the line who believes we need to own our stadium and is prepared to provide it (as happened with Brighton) then being signed up to a long term deal at the Ricoh could be a hinderance.

Depends how long term. 10 years would be sensible and give the club some sense of stability. Stability is always going to make the club more attractive even if it's a miniscule amount.

It's got to be at least a 3-5 years rental while a new stadium is built, so not a hinderance.

You're right.

As soon as we get those three wins on the bounce we will be just fine and all 5 teams above us will all crumble and fall away too.

Perfectly illustrates the problem. Neither a 3-5 or 10 year agreement would be of much value for a potential owner who sees the Ricoh as the long term option but the longer the agreement put in place the more off putting it will be for someone who doesn't see our future at the Ricoh.

It's almost like tearing up our agreement without a clue what to do next wasn't a brilliant business move.

It's not rocket science.
A stadium takes 5 years from drawing board to moving in, so have a 5 year rolling deal.

The only thing stopping an owner from buying this club is Sisu wanting to get 'their' money back by packaging up the club with a stadium.

Any buyer wanting a club and a stadium has a choice to build a new stadium if the Ricoh is not available.

No, there are multiple reasons that will stop a new owner from buying us, 1 is the debt, the other is the stadium situation and lack of assets, the are also other factors including fickle fans, competition for paying customers, better clubs for sale, and if an owner does want to come in and build a stadium a council that doesn't want them to build one/says there no land and a large proportion of fan base that won't attend if they have to build outside the city.

Its not all black and white...

But as I said that only suits someone who thinks we need a new stadium. As Tony said if a potential owner does not believe we need a new stadium then they will be concerned buy the lack of a long term deal.

The sale of the Ricoh to Wasps has left is in an incredibly difficult position when it comes to getting rid of SISU and attracting new owners.

Pretty much any other club in the country would be a better option. I fear unless a city fan becomes a billionaire the future is not a good one for us.

Sadly some aren't able to see this and see getting one over on sisu as more important. I've seen posters on this forum admit they hate sisu more than their love of the club.

Apart from people wanting SISU to lose the JR, in what way are people wanting to get one over on SISU? The JR is now divorced from the Club and running in the background. If Otium solve the stadium problem we will all be happy.

It will take at least 3 years up to 5 years to build a new Stadium so a 3-5 years rental would be just right for a new owner.

I'm talking from a "New Owner's" perspective...ie- A new owner making their OWN arrangements regarding the Rental of The Ricoh.

We do see it, but no use crying over spilt milk.

Sisu messed up and can only make money by getting the Ricoh at a knock down price (Plan A)
They have no plan B so they need to leave and give someone else a chance.

They could do the decent thing and sell the club at what it is worth (without their debt).
But again they want all the debt back that they created, so again they are at fault.

Time to go.
